I dunno, I thought the USMC sections of CoD4 were pretty much the modern equivalent. The SAS stuff, conversely, was rather too close to the unpleasant Rambo-style SAS missions in CoD3.

I can't imagine a "Quell the estates in Niron by shooting unarmed crowds, then go out and pissed up before going abroad, shooting a few more civilians who you feel to be terrorists, ducking due process, then going further abroad suffering an injury on the way to lunch when being blown up due to poor equipment and vehicles and coming back with little to no support or treatment, developing PTSD, joining a contracting company, going to Iraq and shooting a couple of co-workers and spend the rest of your days in a cell in Baghdad, reflecting over the events that brought you there whilst awaiting the long drop" would sell too well.

I dont know whats wrong with me today, I cant concentrate at all. I thought Laves post was the last one in this thread...

I was drilling yesterday and managed to burn my hand twice on the drill, and my ears haven't stopped buzzing since, despite wearing ear defenders and no matter how hard I try I can barely get to the end of a post before my concentration has gone.

Weirdly, I actually wondered that this morning when I was walking for the bus before coming to my senses and realising there are two things which make that impossible. Wow, now it feels like the desk is moving underneath me...sorta like waves....I may be coming down with something....

Eek, this is sounding like the opening scene of an episode of House :S

I prescribe going home early and then joining us for battlefield 1943 later, when you feel better.

I have a train and then bus journey to look forward to this afternoon. I am going to Kincardine where Jen is picking me up then we're going through to Anstruther for the weekend. No Xbox, but a weekend of watching athletics and football lazing around on the couch. If I've not collapsed by then. If I do collapse, can someone tell them it's not Lupins? Should save some time.

People are totally failing on noticing the good funny this week. My Red Five joke was superb. I tried to find a voice clip - that would have been even better.

So there is duel wielding in now. And instead of Price with his handlebar mostache and very-english-ness Soap has grown up and grown a mohawk.

Hmmm.

Increasingly worried they are going to 'bling' all the charm out of this.

I think I've worked out what I like about MW1 - it was like an 80s action movie. But MW2 seems to be moving towards a Micheal Bay action movie.

Still lowered expectations are easy to meet and all.

EXTREEEEEEME!

Price has to be in it somewhere, otherwise it isn't a proper Call of Duty. (I don't think he was in Doggy Warfare either)

Soap's mohawk is regulation, is it? Price's ludicrous tache you could at least see them getting away with...

As I've said before, I'm disappointed with the increasing emphasis on special forces and now that we're also getting Bruckheimer-style ludicrous escapades most of the appeal of the series as a singleplayer experience is gone.

Price wasn't in CoD3 either. I assume that it's a Infinity Ward-only thing.

I'll take your word for that as I have no notion of playing through its campaign again :)

In other news they've finally dropped the price on the two CoD3 map packs. 400 each now. I'd have been tempted a while back, but it's a bit late now. Even the die-hards are losing interest.

Only two sniper rifles? Bobby is going to be a sad panda.

Some of those guns sound fun, as do some of the attachments.

Heartbeat sensors and thermal scopes?

Sounds fun!

It just... looks... so fucking good. I can't quite finger why, but, just look at it! Everything is smooth as silk and polished and good. More excited now. Also, if you watch the very end of the video, the host disconnects and it "reassigns the host", so no more games that end halfway through when the cunt of a host decided to turn his Xbox off.
