Are you not literally going somewhere called Wyvern Hill or similar? I don't think it's named because the river Wyve passes nearby.

Yeah, but much like films and tv, I like to suspend my critical thinking and immerse myself in the world, not thinking too far ahead or too deeply about what’s coming up. It’s nice to have surprises and not be too “meta” about it all. I am happy to critique or delve deeper into stuff after the fact.

You’ve been to Wyvern Tor already :DD @Cras has a better idea of our game than you do lol.

I feel like Ivo is new to this whole adventuring lark, having lead a fairly cloistered life up to now. He's bound to make tactical errors, choose sub-optimal actions and accidentally tentacle his fellow adventurers

Oh I know, I’m just saying for the purpose of immersion I ignore obvious signposting and foreshadowing.

Sounds like he needs GUIDANCE or something.

This works now: http://foundry.sdndg.uk/

First person to load it up every week will have to wait a few minutes for it to wake up, but then we can all login while we wait for Gilly (or me). Should be more responsive too.
Feeling pretty fuckin miserable today. I'll try to attend tonight but I may well be not very responsive.
Foundry will make up for your lack of responsiveness!

If it helps I often feel absolutely dreadful currently, and you guys almost never fail to cheer me up.

I'm sorry to hear this. I've been having a tough couple of weeks and I've found that Monday night D&D has been making me feel much better, or at least distracting me for the time we're playing. If you don't feel up to joining though, or decide you want to drop off early, don't feel like you have to stay.

No sweat mate, hope you can make it though x
I should be there. Expecting a phone call from the doctor at sometime during the evening, so may need a pause for a little while.
He’s welcome to join in.

Been looking at the "your Mill is loading and will be available shortly" for a good 30 minutes so far.
I can also see that as of the now.

30 mins? It’s always loaded up in 2-3 mins for me

Of course it has to be tonight...
It's working here. https://sdndg-mill.worldmill.online/join

For some reason the DNS forward isn't working.
Good work all! A long, bloody, brutish night, with nothing but death, ears and scars to show for it. Ivo is thankful he has his magic defendy glass rod.
A sloggy blood-bath that we're still in!

I'm stuck as a bloody Wood Elf now till I kip, ERGH!
Krung saved the day, naturally.

Krung has had his bottom torn of by the rotatey thing.
Shuu (and Krung) did very well tonight! Shame most of your combatants couldn’t bask in the glory of your billowing cape as they died in their sleep.

Ivo held the bottom door magnificently. Bonfire and caltrops worked well in slowing the advance of the cowardly Goblins.

How on Earth will we regain our slots/health before we kill the rest of them?!
Glad everyone could make it again tonight too.
I’m exhausted after that, I’m so glad Foundry is automating a lot of the combat mechanics for me because that would have been loads to keep track of otherwise! Long combat but amazingly you all stayed up again. Zardoth tanked so much damage for everyone as a bear and then a giant toad, sorry you didn’t get to swallow anyone despite repeated attempts :DD
Myptik’s sleep spell almost completely nullified the action economy of the goblin army in the first wave. Ivo’s shield stopped him going down and rolling death saves and possibly even being dead for good. Those hobgoblins were big hitters and if they’d landed all attacks that should have without shield, you’d have been in a really tough spot. Shuu was a maniac with his Scimitar during the first wave and I loved the visual of the eldritch blasts and fireballs wizzing past his head as his cloak billowed while he spun round slicing through goblins left and right. Finally, Ermintrude; stationed at the door killing everyone who tried to enter until finally getting exasperated at a full round of everyone else failing to hit the Goblin captains, so running round the whole outside of the room to come back in the other door and kill both of them :DD

The Foundry modules automating some of the rolls/saves and having all of the actions/stats/spells close to hand meant I could devote more brainpower to trying to play the enemies tactically and make use of all of their special abilities and it was good to see how annoying goblins can be when they attack, disengage, retreat, then attack again.
Thanks again, sdg! Yeah those Hobgobs are bastards to hit! Their secondary attacks and cowardly escapes make them very annoying.

Tonight wasthe first time I’ve been knocked out of wild shape. Usually wears off or I switch back to do some other spell.

Rotatey potatey

Glad you made it, Dimmers

I now have cod-Latin incantations for all my spells, you’ll be glad to know

No problem, thanks to all of you for surviving your first full combat session and being patient with me while I ran all of the NPCs.

I feel like I’m getting a handle on my tactics now. Put them to sleep, stay out of the way, fire bolt any that my friends have woken up

Ignis sursum vestri asinum!
I feel like I’m getting a handle on my tactics now. Billow my cape, talk to my potato, ruthlessly murder any that have been put to sleep.

Sorry I was so quiet. I normally bugger off and cut myself off from the world rather than let anyone see/hear me in a low.
No need to apologise at all, glad you turned up mate. You just seemed a bit quieter that's all. Hope by playing it helped you bit x
Thanks for all that sdg! I bet there was a lot of paperwork keeping up with all the goblin stats / conditions!

It's definetly the case that crowd control and splitting up the bad guys to deal with in sections - whether by door or with sleep - totally saved our bacon then. If all of those had mobbed us, we might have had real problems.

You were fine, don’t worry. You were less talkative and I could tell you weren’t right, but as long as you still have the energy and patience to deal with my nonsense, I’d rather you were there than not, even if you meta-game hard and telegraph all the battles. ;) x

I’ve had some quiet weeks were I feel awful, but if I hadn’t shown up I’d have felt worse due to no social interaction/fomo

I feel like I’m getting a handle on my tactics now. Be nice to furry creatures outside danger zones. Turn into the biggest beast I can and burst through doors.

Thinking we really should've been a bit more prepared. (This can be answered later, but I am wondering if we took this on a bit earlier than we were perhap supposed to... Would certainlly be interesting after the lost mines campaign to have a DMs view on what went on.)

Remind me to get more healing potions before we storm the next goblin castle!
When we decide to venture forth from this abattoir room I suggest utmost caution. They had 10 minutes to rally their troops while we bravely petted a taod. I wouldn't be surprised if this King has left that room.
Indeed, much searching for traps and caltrops should be done.
