Mrskov has just had me burn a cd from itunes so she can listen to it on our CD player.

The same cd player that has an iPhone dock!

That's a first. I bought a USB CD drive and a 4 port USB hub from amazon, and plugged them in and now I'm sticking Slippery When Wet into my iTunes with no issues. Awesomes!

I'm not sure I fancy a cafe where the toilet has no walls.

A general 'fleurgh' sound of exhaustion.

Just had my interview and presentation for the music library job. I really had to belt through the presentation to fit it in five minutes but it all seemed valid. They also seemed to like that I had handouts and treated it more like a proposal than entirely a 'what-we-already-do'. The interview itself seemed to go okay. I think I conveyed my big enthusiasm, despite my evident nerves. There was one question where I noticed they stopped writing, so I asked for the question again and realised I'd gone off on a tangent. I very quickly redrafted my reply and pens started scribbling again. There seemed to be a lot of writing, so that's good. I also took care with the old body language and I dressed super-smart.

So, they have today and tomorrow with further interviewing (I think I was the first as the first couple failed to turn up) and I should know either late Thursday or - most likely - sometime Friday. Regardless of outcome I'm getting a quality bottle of wine tonight for having done me best and am planning on drinking heavily also on Saturday night.

Now to try not to think about it in a futile manner.

By standing in the same room for almost the entire game, telling me not to be distracted by a female companion's vajayjay? You're the worst weirding woman ever. Did nobody notice the enormous glass-ceiled arboretum on the side of the palace when we flew in? Or me, the two thousand-odd times that I've come flying back in my Orni (orni all night long, here is my price for it) in the last few months while rallying the Fremen? Did we in fact see it, notice the mysterious room on the floor plan but just couldn't figure out where the door was until you decided to use your 'powers'?

God, I love that game. I also love how many cookies Paul has in his hand in that pic. He's gonna scarf them all! Actually, that's probably how the Baron became so flabby.

"We've combined both bloodlines to produce the Kwitsatz Haderach!"

"Hope you've managed to breed out the Harkonen genetic disposition to scarfing cookies."

"Sorry, the what now?"

I think the game Dune might be in my top five games ever. It's just so ridiculously atmospheric, even when Paul's dad says stuff like, "I'm Duke Leto Atreides. Your father." No, really dad?

Man, that was a great pub conversation we had, Metal.

He's fat because

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Gayness Hellsbells Mohican infected him after the first baby she blackmailed him into producing was deformed, and when she demanded another 'session' the Baron raped her.

People near me were talking about cancer just now:

Man 1: "It's can just happen to anyone"
Man 2: "It could be something as simple as... " <bangs arm on desk> "and you'll get cancer"
MaliA: "Don't do that, then."

Wish I could take credit for this (discussing pointless animals):

Quote:
giant pandas. Because they all expect us to save them, they spend their whole time eating bamboo which isn't even slightly nutritious so they starve to death, and that's before they have an ovulation cycle that means the female can only get pregnant about once a decade, usually on the day when the male Panda equivalent of the cup final is on.

I didn't get that vacation placement I applied for. :( I've asked for feedback on the interview though (which they offered). I was one of four candidates for two spots. I thought it went pretty well to be honest, so it'll be interesting to see just how wrong I was.

Hey. maybe they'd already picked you, and were doing Homer Simpson-style doodles? The one on Channel 4 (where Bart is caught steeling) yesterday, he was drawing a unicycle robot barbecuing hot dogs.
