Dimmers? Did you notice any decent new perks when you levelled up this morning? I swear if any more skill points have been spent on my Fertility talent, I'm going to be fucking pissed off.

God damn crappy nicotine patches. So I woke up today with a pain in my chest and decided to start giving up smoking.

Stuck on a patch and it's half fucking fell off already after 30 mins. CRAP.

Why did I test perfume out by spraying it on myself (wrist) instead of, you know, anywhere else? I smell like a girl now.

In other news: my younger brother told everyone he had made a Christmas list this year, and to please try to only buy him stuff off it. Fair enough, it'll take the effort out and give him something he really wants.

Except he'd given the list to his girlfriend first. His girlfriend is useless and hogged the list until last night, when she'd finally decided what she was going to buy for him. The one thing within my price budget, mixed in with expensive motorbike parts, is a book, for which I'm now having to pay £8 to guarantee it'll arrive before Christmas. I was going to pick up something small as an extra gift, but now I'm broke again.

It's nice, classy perfume, so it isn't too bad. But I still smell (more) like a woman.

Hoorah, after my line break repair the ADSL seems to have had a speed increase of 25% to previous speeds.

To, 1.25meg. Is that fast enough to shoot Mr Chris in the head repeatedly if Father Christmas brings me a Microsoft GXBox?

It took me 3.5 hours to get into work today.

It's a 22 mile journey.

Yeah, turns out I have to make myself available for the week, as I didn't explicitly book it off and there are loads of things happening behind the scenes that I may need to do I needs arise. I'll likely be sitting here reading and BeEXing, though.

Also: James May's Lego house was amazing.

I started coming down with something last night, ending the day with a sore throat and the feeling of impending doom come the morning. A few people I've been with lately have been stuck in bed for a few days with some sort of 'flu-type illness. Probably just colds: who knows.

I swear there's a massive psychological portion to succumbing to such illnesses, though; I've managed to, seemingly, fight off such things by mentally refusing to drag myself down into feeling like shit a few times in the past. I feel absolutely fine right now.

There is a bit, I won't generally let a cold stop me from doing something fun that I have planned and I'll usually feel fine for the duration. Yet if I have a cold and have to work then I invariably feel fucking terrible.

Annoyingly, I thought it was a combination of being hungover from jugs of Vodka Redbull on the Friday night, plus botulism shits from an ill-advised hotdog on the way there. By the time I realised it was a cold, the bastard already had me.

Yeah, once you're gone, you're gone. If you catch it early enough, though, it seems you can give it a mental 'FUCK YOU' and kick your immune system into over-drive.

Yeah, well I'm medicated to practically turn mine off, and I still only get one cold a year. I reckon it's a myff. Human metabolic defenses are actually performed by (not unexpectedly) doozers. So basically, it just depends whether you have lazy doozers or whether their coffee machine is working correctly.

I love that game.

Yesterday I decided to dispense with the desk cluttering my room and hook my PC directly up to the telly via HDMI, with an optical cable to the surround sound amp. I now have glorious 1080p Windows gaming goodness, although my games all still seem to want to output in Stereo, so I'm obviously doing something wrong there. Or, more likely, the built in soundcard on my PC's motherboard is a bit shit.

Also, I've really got into Mass Effect lately. I bought it when it originally came out and got as far as the Citadel before deciding it was shite and turning it off. All this time later I've come back to it and I don't know what has changed in the meantime but I'm finding it absolutely fantastic. Just in time for the sequel! My only regret is that I've been playing it on the Xbox, despite having bought the PC version of Steam ages ago... a quick perusal shows that the PC version is much, much nicer looking. Plus, despite not normally being from the mouse & keyboard brigade, mouse controls really seem to suit that game. I'm having to play the Xbox version with Casual combat to stop the pad being launched out of the window in some sections, whereas the PC version has presented no huge issue to me playing it on normal difficulty.

I might actually end up playing through this a second time on the PC once I've done the Xbox version.
