I wasn't that excited. Then I was. Now I find myself doing things like waking up this morning and thinking "ooooh, six days 'till GTA", which has never happened for me with any game, ever.

For all that, though, I genuinely don't know what to expect from it. I'm still a bit concerned that it might tilt too far in pursuit of "realism" over fun. I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of planes given that the Harrier and jet-pack from San Andreas were amoung the most fun things in a GTA game ever. And I'm a bit worried that in terms of pure gameplay-based joy it won't stand up to Crackdown. So, you know. It likely won't match the hype, but I've got a fair amount of faith in Rockstar's ability to build a world that I'll enjoy fucking about in. That'll do for me.

Meanwhile I've only just realised it's imminent. I tend to order stuff I know I'll play and forget about it.

This is why I still have a launch day shrinkwrapped Halo 3...

Did Myp also say that choices were still taking orders? I can't recall exactly.

apparently the pal version has been leaked on torrent sites, just read on kotaku, the image on kotaku is by the group that done it and says to hide ya games list on xbox live and dont go on the internet with it till next week. Which I didnt understand because I thought modified 360's were banned from Live.

They are if MS spot them.

I can't think of a better way to spot them than being online with an unreleased game ;)

It's a tad unfair if they take action against folks simply because the game appears in their list before the release date: they might have bought it fair and square. (Did they do anything when Mass Effect and Halo 3 were released? I can't recall.)

I think I'm just intrigued as to what they'll have crowbarred into this one, since I've not read anything about it. I read tonnes of coverage about Vice City and San Andreas whilst they were in development, but this one should (hopefully) be a genuine surprise for me in places.

I;ve already pre-ordered from my local Zavvi as, having booked the day off work now, I didn't want to risk any postal fuck ups and Zavvi was the only place still taking pre-orders when I tried. Now I'm just hoping they've had all their Special Editions ordered up too, so I don't have to face the temptation to buy what is ultimately a huge waste of money. 'Cos I will. I'm stupid like that.

I'm sure that HMV are only doing it to ensure people can't say that theirs wasn't delivered and to send another one while they flog the first one on eBay for Massive Sponds.

I was in the arndale yesterday and Zavvi sign on the door says they will be getting extra in store stock for release day, so I might just mozy on down there instead of missing the postman, them taking another 2 days grave to actually go back the sorting office, write me a card, then deliver it, telling me I can get it, then me going to get it.
