So, I've been working on this one for a little while. Basically, it's HeroQuest, BUT ON AN INTERNET.

It's not even close to finished yet, but feel free to give it a shot.

http://neroquest.co.uk

Get ready for it to break!

Note - makes noise (you can turn it off, though), won't work on a phone, probably only works on Chrome with a bastard-hard computer. Hey ho ;)

Also, is it Nero, or Nearo?

Well fuck me, I bought the wrong domain. I don't know what you mean.

Looks good, although as someone who never played HearoQuest, it's completely incomprehensible to me.

So some quick instructions if you need them:
During your turn you can move, or do one of the following: fight, search for secret doors and traps OR treasure, or cast a spell (if you're the Elf or the Wizard). You can move before or after you do an action, but not both (so if you move a bit then fight, you can't move any more).

When fighting, a skull gets you an attack point. When defending, each shield you roll (white for players, black for monsters) cancels out one attack point. Monsters only have 1 health, so if you get a hit in and it doesn't get defended, you die.

You can search furniture (using the action button).

Once you've hit your objective, you can exit via the stairs.

You can find potions when searching for treasure. You can find gold too (but you can't spend it yet).

Hmm. Can't seem to open a door to the North. It thinks you're clicking on the character.

That should work fine. Do you get to choose what to do (ie. open a door or hit someone)?

It has whole-map range. That's odd - maybe the targetting didn't light up for some reason. I'll have a look through your logs. What's the Game ID ("gid" in the URL)?

If you could draw them for me too that would be a bonus.

Hmm - seems it is Hasbro, except for the GW specific IP it contains. Also this:

https://www.kickstarter.com/dmca/heroqu ... by-private

Quote:
I am the authorized representative of the owner of the "Heroquest" registered trademark. I am writing to inform Kickstarter that the recent KS project by Gamezone for a Heroquest game (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/211 ... nniversary) is in violation of our trademark "Heroquest" which is registered with the United States Patents and Trademark Office.

The trademark "Heroquest is registered by Francis Greg Stafford (who is cc'ed to this email) with the USPTO (Registration Number 4082281) for use in game book manuals. Moon Design Publications LLC has the exclusive license for use of that trademark. Moon Design Publications LLC is a Michigan state limited liability corporation with a street address of 3450 Wooddale Ct, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

The project by Gamezone, a Spanish game company, proposes to remake a role-playing/board game originally produced by Milton Bradley and Games Workshop in 1989. The project calls their game "Heroquest" which is identical to our registered mark and easily confused with it (we have received multiple queries about whether we have any connection to the project in the last few days).

Gamezone initially asked us for use of the Heroquest trademark on July 31, 2013. We refused on August 26, 2013, informing Gamezone by email that: "For some time now we have been working on creating a "Heroquest" Gloranthan board game with some game designers. We are looking to use the Heroquest trademark for this, and so at this time we must decline your request."

That was going to be the 25th Anniversary edition, I think.

Mimi even changed chars to chairs in the quote.
