The first bit of clothing I ever bought myself was a Ghostbusters hoodie when I was 10 because it was illuminous. To me it was a bit magical. It's weird but it's just something that makes me happy. Like nostalgically I guess.

Whenever I wear a watch in bed I always have to open my eyes after a few mins just to see the lume. So far I've not gotten bored of it.

(suddenly memory that Dimrill hated the word 'gotten').

I think, unless you are American, gotten only works in phrases like:

Ill gotten gains

The argument regarding the correct use for gotten is one I can't remember.

Like so many of the so-called "Americanisms", gotten is simply the older way of saying "got".

In the context of "not gotten bored of it" what is the proper English version?

I've managed to coach myself out of saying "can I get" and now say "may I have" instead

"Gotten bored" sound wrong because boredom isn't something you have, it's a state to be in.

"I am bored" not "I have boredom"

So I would agree with Malc. "I am not bored of it" or "It is not yet boring"

New watch. The lume on this thing is insane.

First square watch. Didn't think I'd ever buy one but this is gorgeous.

I now have to sell one which is a faff and a little tough as I like all of mine but this is sweet.

Is it one in, one out because of the size of your box?

yeah. I started with a six box, and then an eight and then finally a ten. So at this point I'm like STOP PISSING ABOUT.

The weird thing about it all is that I'm otherwise a minimalist. I hate having too much stuff. Before I last moved house I sold/donated/threw away like 90% of my stuff.

But I seem to like watches. For now.

There's always a chance that I'll sell all but one of them one day but I'm enjoying them all at the moment.

10 in the box, one on each wrist. Now you can have 12!

6+8+10=24 sounds like you’ve got room for another 14 watches.

I still have the six box but the eight I returned to Amazon (it was still valid for a return, that's how quickly I passed through 8 as a limit).

But nah, I've got to stick to ten. Picking the watch to put on eBay today was tough as I like all of them but honestly ten is too much really but it's a limit I want to stick to. Otherwise you'll end up with watches that never get any wrist time.

You’re wise to put limits on it, I think
I’m currently shedding watches on eBay, as I’ve realised that even with 10, five or six of them never get worn

Definitely.

I do try to vary up what ones I wear and it's nice to have little honeymoon periods with them again where one stays on the wrist for a few days.

What's good is that I'm reviewing them, so it's giving me a reason to have them. What's not good is that LOL NO ONE CARES ABOUT WEBSITES IN 2025.

Also, it turns out that microbrand watch manufacturers also do not react to social media posts of reviews at all. Oh well!

I bought myself some coasters (with my Nintendo Platinum points).

Bean was after some MarioKart window stickers so I got him those sets and had enough spare points to get myself this little tin of metal coasters, which is amazing, obvs.

You can just about see them on my shiny new standing desk that I bought in the hope that alternating standing/sitting would fix my left hip & its associated woes :')

I've got a sit-stand desk at work (a manual one, nothing fancy and when I do actually bother to use it properly it makes a big difference for me - I really should be more disciplined with it.

That's for the Nintendo64 that's hiding in the top drawer of my little wheelie cabinet (and my GameCube when I find the bloody cables).

I've got that wheel too. If you've not already got a PSVR2 I can highly recommend it, worth it for GT7 alone. They also added the AI opponents to custom races recently so you can set up really good races without having to invest the time you need to in order to get into decent races online. Most fun I've had with a racing game I think except maybe the Forza nights of old.

So much fun just battling in the middle of the pack like this:

Entirely because of this I've just ordered PSVR2 in the days of play sale.

You won't regret it. Currently hyped for Aces of Thunder too even if it's been coming soon since PSVR2 came out.

No lies found here. Just experiencing the dips and hills on some of the tracks properly is enough. Then it rains, then you tussle with other drivers but can see them alongside you and in your mirrors. It's like a new game yet again, 190 hours in.

Nordschleife is *terrifying* now.

Been flip-flopping over which of the new Mac desktops to get for a while now but just took the plunge on the base Mac Studio. Squee!!!

This has absolutely rinsed me.

It’s the video side that needs the grunt tbh, my current M1 Mac Mini is great for music production (Ableton Live) but it kinda comes to a halt at times with After Effects.

It's allegedly smart meter day, so because I didn't read the email properly until just now (to know the engineer should have a battery with him) I've bought an internet-keeper-upper.
