Given that my copy of RB1 is free for any Beexer to loan, and given that it's 400 points for the transfer, your hypothetical RB2-only-owner is either a belmhead or not a bezzie. Which is another way of saying belmhead.

I'd say there are quite a lot of people out there with RB2 and an Xbox 360 who aren't a Bezzie. Unless Microsoft only managed to shift 100 units in total.

One one of the RB2 tracks, can't remember which, the entire bass section (on Medium, mind) is 7 blues then a red, repeated for the entire length of the song.

Nah. Each venue has a make you own set list in there. I managed to avoid that Shoulder to the Plow rubbish throughout and only played it during the endless setlist. Whereas playing Antisocial umpteen times to get through each career in Guitar Hero nearly made me kill everyone in the entire world.

I had a couple of goes on that to get the Gold Star achievement and actually failed it through missing a note through sheer boredom. I decided to go for that achievement again at the weekend with the Scars on Broadway song instead and that was much more fun.

Reasons why Guitar Hero sucks.

REASON THE FIRST! Guitar Hero: Van Halen.

You weren't saying that when you had those green G signs in your eyes. "Oh Mr Dimrill! Please sing a song to me!"

Aren't we supposed to yell at you now that you've failed to buy GH:M this week?

Fair cop, you can open your gob again to do that. I have just been bumped down to a 4 day week by work though which means a 20% pay cut, so I wasn't in a rush to spend. I wants it bad like though :(

Yes, well that's down to GH's utterly shonky vocal registry choices. Actually,

REASON THE SECOND! Vocals.

Playing the bass is much better on GH, I reckon. Plus drums feels more realistic as you have the hi-hat on the far left (and I've got two pedals :P ).

Bass is fine on RB, as long as you're not playing the most tedious songs. Although does RB have the open fret note that GH does?

I'll give you the bass. The open strings is a great idea. Overall, it simply lacks the charm of Rocking Band.

No it doesn't, and that's why bass in WT is better.

I agree with both of those. The Rock Band drums look really boring to me, like playing Donkey Konga on a stand. The open notes are a brilliant idea, and I wish they'd add them to the guitar tracks as well to make it even harder, because I'm a mentalist.

But Guitar Hero is still shit overall.

I know what you mean. I can't really explain it either. There's just something about GHWT that leaves me a little bit cold.

F'rinstance, the character-creation system is empirically better in GHWT than RB/2. More faces. More different move-sets. And yet when you see them "in the wild" as it were, the Rock Band characters just have more... um... character. Don't know why, don't know why it matters but it does.

I just find the whole interface hateful, from the GUI to how short-sighted Activision seem with regards to DLC and multiversion compatibility.

That said, they fixed a load of stuff for GH:MetulLicker edition. Adding in the progress towards how many stars you're getting in the song, for instance. Geee-tar Hero. Urgh, tinny name. Rocking Band. Lovely wood.

Rock Band - like chewing mahogany? I know you're a weirdy veggy but surely there must be SOME palatable dishes you can eat without having to resort to the termite diet?

I don't think it will work as an ad campaign.

Having the star power only apply to the person that uses it in GH, even though you have a collective pool, is shitty.

To me, the rock band gigs look they'd be fun to go to in real life, whereas GH:WT took Ozzy, Jimi Hendrix, Sting and that drummer who I forget, put them on a flying ship and still managed to bore the crap out of me.

I imagine on easier levels it's not going to be a problem. bearing in mind, the verse of this is what I'm having a few problems with. The verse you just can't play like I would/he does on the RB kit.

The guide on TrueAch for that is hilarious. "I got it by only playing 5 to 7 hours a day for a week! It isn't that long, really!"

I've just been playing songs I can 99 or 100% on expert bass over and over again for an hour most evenings... it's taken me about 3 weeks to add ~$80,000, so I still reckon I am looking at getting that achievement sometime in 2010 rather than 2009!!!

This is where the lack of good online play in GHWT really does piss me off, I can't tot up the monies by playing with you guys and helping you achievement whore :'(
