I just wanted to point out that the icon which accompanies this post always resembles to me a grotesque being of indeterminate taxonomy brandishing an oversized knife and fork as it demands importunately to be fed with something unspeakable. Rather than a ? smiley !, like.

I would have mentioned this before but I didn't want to blunder into an extant thread to do so, and it never seemed that important. Until now!

(We are all probably aware of the famous exchange of telegrams between the holidaying Victor Hugo and his publisher upon the release of a new book. Enquiring about sales, Hugo sent a telegram which read simply "?". In return, he received one reading "!".)

I really like the Dimlies and their character. The expression on the face of the scholar, the unhappy face of the chap on TV, the chef (which reminds me of how on Cooking Without Looking, Max can't see over the counter), the fact there are TWO icons for he-who-shall-not-be-named-for-less-than-£2, the staring goggle eyes of the pukey head, the genuine anguish of the crying man, the Mimi-esque overcome-with-glee of the happy, and the sheer distortion of the raging one.

I think the slight angle they're on only makes them better.
