G'wan! We've won the opportunity to get gibbed by the Colts next week!

Also: fuck Brett Favre. Fun facts for commentators: DID YOU KNOW that there were 89 other people playing in this weekend's game. WHY NOT TRY spending ten seconds talking about one of them instead? A good time for this might be when the Vikings are playing defence for fucking fuckity fuck's sake.

I'm glad the Jets won. Yes Ryan is a knob, but Phillip Rivers is about fifteen times as knobby. Plus, Broncos fan, y'know.

I will also be supporting the Jets in the championship game, as I hate the Colts as they always whomp the Broncos.

On the other side, I have to support New Orleans, as they've never won the Superbowl, and all the city has been through. Oh and because they're facing the Minnesota BrettFavres.

I'm hoping Supoerbowl will be colts/saints.

So inevitably, it'll be Jets/Vikings.

I'll be cheering on the Colts, as I've always been a big fan of Peyton Manning.

I can't cheer for the Vikings, as Brett favre still refuses to pronounce his own name properly.

Though them winning matches does tend to really annoy quite a lot of people, which amuses me.

I can't bloody stand Peyton Manning and his stupid chicken dance. Which makes their inevitable crushing of the Jets and inevitable Soup Bowl berth all the more annoying. The only hope we've got is that the Colts are defeated by the unstoppable force of Irony. If Indianapolis get knocked out by a team who only reached the playoffs because the Colts all but threw the game against them, it will be this funny: very funny indeed.

After life proves to be neither beautiful or true and the Jets go down in flames I'll be rooting for New Orleans, for much the same reasons as Pundy.

With shockey fit, I dont think I can see the saints losing.
The vikings have probably got the 99 NFC championship game missed field goal looming over their heads.

I'm not going to predict any scores this weekend, seeing as I got it hopelessly wrong last week. Needless to say though, I want a Colts Saints final. I want a shootout Superbowl (mainly for financial reasons).

Good game at Indianapolis, the one at the Superdome has a chance of turning into a shootout, or a drive by shooting.

It is rankling me beyond words that the BBC sports website insists on referring to today's games as "Superbowl semi-finals" >:(

Hmm, interesting tactic that New Orleans are using...'Kill Favre'.

Well, the NFC championship game really cheered me up. If I could have picked any way for the Vikings to lose, I think I'd probably have gone with "Favre Stabs Them Through The Heart On The Cusp Of Victory With His 450th Career Hubristic Throw Back Across His Body Toward The Middle Of The Field For An Interception."

You live by the Favre, you die by the Favre. Although he was aided and abetted by Brad Childress settling for a 50+ yard field goal attempt at the end of regulation when he had loads of time left on the clock and any sort of penalty (in a noisy and hostile stadium that had been giving their o-line problems all game) would push them back out of range.

I am now barely half awake. It is worth it.

If anyone on here is interested and hasnt got the email yet the tickets for the game in London go on sale this Thursday to "Club Wembley" people and to the general public next Monday at around 10:00

Quote:
Ticket sales for the 2010 NFL International Series game between the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos on Sunday October 31st get underway this week.
The 2010 NFL International Series Registry of Interest has seen unprecedented demand for tickets, so you need to act fast to secure your seats for the showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos. In previous years the first general admission sale has seen tickets sold out in a matter of minutes, so to give yourself the best chance of being able to attend this game you should consider purchasing a Club Wembley ticket this Thursday, or ensure that you are online from 10am when general admission seats go on sale next Monday.

To be fair on Brett, the Vikings probably wouldn't have got anywhere near the playoffs without him, and everyone knows what you're getting with Mr Favre.. a gunslinger who will roll the dice. Sometimes it'll pay off, sometimes it won't.

Hmmm, starting to worry for the Saints. I can easily see Manning turning it up for the second half as per his performance against the Jets a couple of weeks ago.

At the mo I have no idea what is going to happen...but the Saints still need to score a TD.

/EDIT: Just a brilliant last six or so minutes. Congrats to New Orleans.

Although instead of making today completly unworkable i just stayed up to watch the first half , so what i saw doesnt quite fit in with the final scoreline :-)

If they had it on a Saturday it would work out much better.

Oh, I am so looking forward to this season, being a Bungles fan and everything. They are either going to be completely brilliant or self destruct under a tide of massive egos. Whatever happens, it's going to be a fun ride. Bring on the T.O./Ochocinco show!

Theres also a 'ahem' torrent site called something like the10yardline or similar where you can basically pick up all the games if you want to watch them (i'll confirm the name when i get home)

Down for code changes at the moment but it'll be back up :

Morte! Tell us if Madden 11 is any good!

Actually, if it's really good don't tell me. I really don't need to be spending another 30 quid this month.

There's a demo! I played it the other day - it's certainly easier to play than the '10 demo. I might pick this one up.

can happily say that Online Team Play is one of the best gameplay modes to make it into a Madden game in a long time. It allows for up to six players (three on one team, three on another or any permutation therein) to link up online and compete against each other or against the CPU. One person assumes the role of the quarterback, another plays the running backs and the third mans the receivers (one player can also decide to roam to any vacant position) with a similar combination being used on defense. The mode does the unthinkable and actually makes playing on a team with your buddies fun. It's unabashed couch play at its finest and lends itself very nicely to smack talking friends on your team.

OMG DO WANT!

Decent online!

Yep, it's very much easier than 10, I normally play on Pro with some tweaks but the Raiders can shut everyone out so I'm going to crank it up to All Pro.

The rosters haven't been updated too much (the Raiders one is out of date) but I assume they'll wait for the season to start proper before issuing a fully overhauled one.

Quite like the new gameflow / play / whatever it's called but the offensive / defensive caller advice gets quite old, quite quickly. They seemed to have recycled Collinsworth's commentary but the play by play bloke is now extremely annoying, it's gone from having someone under the influence of tranquilisers to sitting next to Sid Wadell...this is not a good thing, not a good thing at all.

Bring on the season, as I've just stumped up for ESPN so I can get the Monday night game...unfortunately once again the UK doesn't get pre-season even though ESPN Europe does...wankers.

Ok I purhcased the new madden and I like it! A lot!.

The new dual stick running is good, I've been able to get a lot more yardage on runs looking for the gaps rather than focussing on sprinting. The gameflow thingy I tend to avoid on offense and use sometimes on defense, but Im managing to put up 50+ points most games so should probably crank it up to all-pro difficulty.
Some of the commentary has been recycled from 09 I see, and the amount of advertising is ridiculous... give the game the feel of a real game! Brought to you by Verizon! And Old Spice the greastest smell in the N F L!

Ha ha...I can watch pre season as it's on ESPN rather than ESPN America. Can't really read too much into pre season games but from what I've seen so far is:

1. Matt Lienart looks like a haunted man, his body language is all wrong and he looks genuinely haunted when interviewed / shown on the side line. No wonder they're putting Anderson in for the last two games, Lienart looks done in...weird for a bloke that's only been asked to sit on his arse, shag cocktail waitresses and take home bags of money for the last four years.

2. Greenbay looked brilliant against the Colts on Thursday, while the Colts looked pretty poor (but better than their woeful performances in the first two pre season games). Even Manning looks out of sorts (possibly because of the new rules). Rodgers was however was on fire and is currently backed up by two really solid QBs, whether they can keep them all when the cut comes remains to be seen (they still have 8 TEs and 4 FBs on their books). It was interesting to see all the scouts from the other teams at the stadium looking to see what they can pick up once the roster gets cut to 53.

3. There is a worrying bandwagon forming around the Raiders by the flapping gobs on Sportscentre etc etc... As a Raiders fan this probably means another sub 5 win season with Campbell being injured in the first game and DHB STILL not being able to hang onto a ball (Cheers Al, could you please die? Thanks).
