WTF isn't there an ITV4+1?

There's an ITV1+1, ITV2+1, ITV3+1, but no ITV4+1...

I want to sky+ The Shining, but it started 48 minutes ago on ITV4 :(

Oktoberfest is a celebration of the arrival of Oktober October, so runs from mid-September.

My friend, ex-colleague and MrsA's old housemate lives over in Muenchen. She looks a bit like Jennifer Garner. The picture of her in Lederhosen was, like, cripes. Talented scientist and runner, too. We were going to go over there, but, erm, didn't. I've always wanted to go, seems like a right old giggle.

Thank you, Mr Russ, for helping me out via text last night. To recap, I've set up my desktop in the basement, and it worked happily for a few hours. Then I went out, after asking it to transfer about 10Gb from the C: drive to the E: drive. Upon my return, it was switched off. Confused, I turned it ona gain, it booted into windows, then there was a loud "PHUT" sound and a smell of ozone. It won't turn on at all anymore, and Mr Russ said it was the PSU. How damp does a room have to be to knacker a PSU, or do tehy just pop once in a while? I'm going to get a new one, and see what happens. If that one goes pop, then I'll have to put the computer in the first floor library, which I'd rather not do. But anyways.

Nothing to do with damp unless there's actually water running into the casing :)

Thanks, good sir. The room was just slightly humid when we first moved in. It seems to be getting better now there's air moving around in the room. I'm not sure how these things actually work, but seeing as boats have computers and boats sail in humid areas, I didn't think it would be a problem. I've ordered a new one now, it was £30 so hopefully should do. I didn't see any magic smoke, so I assume the other bits are OK.

They are singing songs about pirates in the library, makes me smile. Right, some jobs done, I'm off to the magistrate's court for a bit to see which law firms, if any, do what, then to to the tip, fog the house with chemicals to clear the remaining unwanted guests and then that'll be me until the afternoon. I've come to actually quite like the house now, even though it's stupidly decorated and has no coat hooks.

I am working from home this morning, sitting in my lounge listening to Mozart is a significantly nicer atmosphere than the windowless dungeon I am normally subjected to.

I think PETA are a bunch of cunts, but I totally approve of their photography. Especially Kelly Brook the other day.

"...the nurse said she would call the police whereupon the defendant shouted 'Call all of the fuckers for all the good it will do you' before clenching his fist and striking a computer tower, rendering it inoperable and further striking a security camera with a clenched fist, breaking it."

That was possibly the highlight of my visit earlier. The rest was a sad long line of heroin addicts been caught with about 3 days worth of supply. I really can't see the point in fining people when they already have a couple o fhundred left outstanding to pay at a fiver a week from last time they were nicked.

I went to the magistrate's court for a bit yesterday as it is warm in there, and I wouldn't be surrounded by cardboard boxes. It was interesting and quite sad.

I've been spending my time between building furniture, putting it in the correct place in the house, making food and looking for jobs. Going to try to get to Leeds tomorrow to go aorund the agencies, things keep happening to slow that down, like waiting in all day yesterday for a washing machine.

Ah I see!

Yeah, I'm sure your days are filed with all that kind of crap. That is one of the worse things about moving. We took time off for packing and moving but then you have to factor in all the rubbish that goes with it...Waiting for deliveries, being in for the gas man, being there for the Sky installers blah, blah. It's a right pain and such a waste of time when there's a million other productive things you could be doing.

Good luck with the hunt, I'm sure you will dazzle them with your Southern charm and 'posh accent' :)

MrsA coming home for lunch is nice, though. And the fact she now leaves for work at ten to nine and is back at twenty past five is also good.

And I deffo have not been hamming my accent up at all, for fear of losing it.

Waiting for broadband and a phone line to kick in, thne life will be easier. Wetherspoon's tea isn't my favorite, and I'm to afraid to ask them for a cup of green tea.
