Hoping to get a better score than this but just in case I don't end up with another chance to use the laptop all week (hence last weeks no show) :

One day to go on this and amazingly, despite this being a great game, still only four entries. So as things stand even a score of 1 point would get you onto the league table.

I still can't get past the auto bomb setting stage either. Bah.

I've an updated score which i'll post tonight and i'm stuck on the 2nd auto bomb setting screen where you have about 5 or 6 'floaters' plus your trail of bombs :-(

You can click the link for the java emulator and play it in your browser if you want an actual downloadable emulator then try either ZXspin or Speculator.

You can play direct from that page using the java browser emulator (click on the java icon next to the file) or you can download an emulator from here:

http://www.worldofspectrum.org/emulators.html

Try and pick one that has been updated in the last couple of years as they have stuff on there going back to the 1990's.

You're going to need to pull something out of the bag to retain your third position in the league.

3620. Get in!

Runc, aye I had trouble with ZXSpin. Changed to Speculator and have had no troubles. I even did well at Pssst in that, too late but there we go.

My my, we've been busy bees:

Runcle - 14180
Zaphod79 - 10710
Chinny - 9980
Jon - 4860
Dimrill - 3620
Doctor GlyNadolig - 3620
Rev Owen - 3480
Gazchap - 3410
Devilsnowman - 3010
Malc - 2510

How the hell Runcle achieved that score I don't know. The only solution is to have him burned as a witch to find out!

And we have 6 people in the point scoring due to Dimrill and the good Doctor tying for 5th. Crivens!

I think tie breaks should go to the first person to post the score -- Dimrill in this case.

Get out of it. 1/2 points to each. I'm still trying, but can't get close to it at the moment. Plus I'm drunk, so it doesn't help/

Under most circumstances it's very unlikely to happen. I'm inclined to suggest that equal points are awarded.

Thought I'd have a quick go of this, but only managed 3,010. That fourth level is hateful.

Oh, and I found Pssst easier to control ;)

Anyway, we need to think about the next game as our potential winner wants to throw it open to the floor.

Suggestions please! Rule is that it must be CPC, Spectrum or C64 and you can't have played it properly for at least 10 years (to stop the likes of me nominating GX4000 Pang for example).

No problem. It's your call come 6pm.

Choose one or the other and a format and we'll do the rest between us. CPC and Speccy should be easy. C64 might require someone who knows more about where you get C64 games (a skip? - Ed).

Why the hell does deleting spoiler tags fix the server?!

In other news, we've got some way to go yet:

THE WINNER of the £500 Splat! competition organised by Incentive Software for one of its games is 17-year-old James Tant. The object was to achieve the highest score with Splat, a maze game where the maze moves. The scores were checked using a hi-code generator built into the program which produced a code for each score.

Tant attained a massive 112,930 points and when he visited the Incentive offices to verify the score he did even better. His secret was between five and seven hours on the game every day for three months.

Hundreds of entries were received according to Incentive. The lowest score was 520 points and the average was around 10,500.

The new Incentive competition is to find the first person to complete the Ket Trilogy of adventure games. The prize will be a video recorder.

I was five when this game was released, and I didn't even own a Spectrum until the next year.
