Hah!
Easy to say when you work for a bank who's drunk with all of our money, bud, but for real SMEs who actually need to earn their living (right down to 2- and 3-man bands), it's a rather different matter I'm afraid!

So y'know, I'd say putting food on the table and keeping yours (and everyone else's) livelihood is a tad higher priority than some vague notion of civic duty, or whatever. If government or whoever has an issue with that, well, the solution's dead simple: cough up. I don't see any of them working for nowt.

"Tough"... L-LOL.

:insincere:

If by "massive chip on shoulder" you mean "hatred for the banks, and laughing contempt for those who judge ALL businesses and their ability to pay for stuff like this, as viewed from a perspective of multi-billion propped up and bailed out 'too big to fail' employers", then yeah. Guilty as charged.

(It's also quite funny that you regard the bailout of the banks as something to be proud of, what with your branding my contempt of it, and them, as a 'chip on my shoulder'. Has it not occurred to you that actually, those vast, vast sums - including all those hundreds of billions in printed QE money - could've actually been put to good use socially?)

Pfft, honestly. Back in the real world etc.

Oh and another thing, I quite often call for an increase in the welfare state, actually. It's only you who likes to constantly caricature me as some kind of rabid, slavering, unreconstructed Thatcherite for reason(s) best known to you - but to normal people I'm actually pretty liberal, and quite a nice, caring chap, even if I do say so myself.

Honestly Gaywood, according to you, most people must be insufferable politically. Frankly it's a marvel you can get through a working day without imploding.

I was having a pint at ten to five today. It was glorious. Pizza man is on his way and then GoT. White wine is in the fridge and the beer cupboard is full.

I just think that for some people, once their minds are made up about something, they are quite literally incapable of changing their mind, like ever - regardless of how a situation may have changed, whatever new evidence is presented to them, or how an argument has subsequently evolved. 8)

Frankly all a bit strange to say the very least and, IMO, not a particularly admirable trait. Too much of that shit on the web in my view.

I think it's lovely that Stu has come out on the side of a police force now facing charges of institutional corruption, faking evidence, and running a cover up spanning 20 years. Not enough people are prepared to take the side of The Man in this world.

It's because you and are are pretty pro and as such we start out with +1,000 Internet Points and our Excellence Modifier means we get a 1.15x bonus. Others start from 0, and have to really try hard to level up to compete with our Internet Points Score Totals. When you only get 0.2 points for saying "Check your privilege" on The Twitter, it's a long chase. Especially as that 0.2 points gets less the more you use it. As a result, solace is found in numbers, even the Walls of Jericho tumbled under the shouts of the masses.

As you know, I started a new job on the 11th April and now we've come up to pay day, I thought I'd be a bit short having missed the first week and a bit of the month.

I've just checked my bank and it seems that my old job have paid me for a full month and my expenses. While I was expecting the expenses, I wasn't expecting the full pay.

It's good news if it's meant to be there but not so if it's a mistake. I'll put it to one side for now and wait and see.

Woah!

Also put me in mind of one of my favourite Seinfeld exchanges.

Kramer: "You know I had a vasectomy once. But they botched it."

Seinfeld: "They botched it?"

Kramer: (Whimpers) "Now I'm even more potent!"

On one wall of our main sales office there are loads of customer compliments on the walls, done with stickers.
This building is closing and some of the unhappy staff have been rearranging the letters to make amusing profanities which I can't really share until I've left.

Woke up to snow. The hillocks in the background have since disappeared due to snow falling.

I got engaged to a stripper, and we're having a circus wedding next week. I'm quite tired and my head hurts.

I got home at about 4:30 is what happened. I'm somewhat tired.

Basically, Craster and I went to drinks at Stack Overflow, then gatecrashed Curio's boss's leaving party, then went and looked at boobs (or the TV, which was showing WWE).

Then we met a man in the kebab shop who was telling us his website had been bought by LadBible. He gave me a sticker.

Have you ever noticed that the drinks are very reasonably priced in Strip clubs?
