Yes, the North arrow can be a bit of a pain to see. Icons really should be clipped by the bounds of the map, or it can quite quickly get unwieldy.

I just wish I could tell the Agency guy to stop fucking telling me the same thing over and over, or to stop accusing me of killing civilians when all I've done is extracted my clone in order to respawn somewhere else. I really only need to be told how to do things once, not repeatedly for ten hours of play.

Have you started flying the helicopter yet?

Heh!

It took me a while to notice it takes a few seconds for the landing gear/legs to come down when you're near the floor. The number of times I landed, only to have the thing gently rock itself onto its side was frustrating. As was the time I landed it properly, only for a peacekeeper to ram it at full speed with his car. I parked it off the road for a reason, you dick!

I'm not sure it was ever a trick they could pull off twice, really. The best thing about Crackdown was seeing your powers slowly build until you were leaping insanely huge distances and stuff like that first climb up the agency tower. When you know where it's going then you'll always just feel a bit weak rather than ever more powerful.

I'd like to retract this.

I'm having every bit as much fun as I did the first time around. More probably.

Finished. I'm confused:
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It looked like it was heading for a "Thorne was a goodie all along and the Agency had an antidote ZOMG" ending but then just petered out like they forgot to write some parts. Why was she warning the Agent that he was being lied to and to not activate the beacons at the end? It felt rather ill thought out.

Blatant Crackdown 3 agent-versus-agency setup too.

Edit -- oh, I needed a lot more audio logs:
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It is revealed through audio logs that Catalina tried to warn the agency about the freaks and started Cell as a pressure group. The agency then pins the freak infections on her even though we know that the agents in Crackdown 1 unintentionally released them. She is then notified by the whistleblower that the agency has a cure for the infestation but refuses to distribute it. As the agency releases news about project sunburst Catalina is informed by the Whistleblower that before the freak outbreak sunburst was the code name for a population mind control project. Catalina and cell set out to stop sunburst by stealing the beacons and sabotaging the absorption units. Her plans are then stopped by the new agents whom she pleads with over their communicators to stop. It is then revealed in the ending that Catalina is using her medical experience in order to create her own "renegade" agents in order to combat the agency and sunburst.

Finished the 'story' mode.

My god, this game is more full of nothing than Just Cause 2.

Three mission types (tactical locations, beacons and freak breaches) that all play exactly the same way and then a bunch of collect-o-shit to pad it out. The trashed cities all blend into one, to the point where if I've not kept track then I genuinely don't know which one I'm in.

Crackdown was better in my opinion.

That said, four player larks do redeem things a bit.

You mean the awesome game that will never be released on a fucking PC? I think I did, actually. The climbs are a lot more satisfying.

I thought it was a better game, I probably enjoyed the first one more due to it all being new but it's a good sequel.

I agree with Bluce. I enjoyed 2, but it lost something in the process.

2 was a good game, but a rubbish sequel. It didn't fix any of the first one's problems or add anything significant to the mix. I enjoyed my time with it, but would advise anyone looking to spend £40 on it that it comes across like a total conversion, not a new game.

I got my moneys worth out of it which is all you can ask really. Have given up on the story mode (7/10 beacons, but the one I'm trying to do keeps throwing mahoosive freaks at me that can't be killed by anything) and am just collecting orbs, races etc.

I think that it is odd that all the criticisms are generally valid, but I'd still say it is a necessary addition to your Funsquare collection. Easy game to point out the flaws in, but you have to get someone to play it to appreciate its qualities.

Have you tried any of:
-Homing Rocket Launcher/flocket launcher.
-Taking a helicopter with dual rocket launchers in. (Req: Lvl 5 agility)
-Having higher skills in explosives
-Lowering difficulty
-Getting an chum in to help.
?

The Homing Rocket Launcher is the only thing that does damage and I'm level 5 in everything.

Lowering difficulty, tried that.

Helicopter or assistance, no, not yet.

The flocket launcher is effective against them so equip that and homing missiles. Also if it's the one where the massive ones run around the edges throwing rocks at the beacon you do need to kill those but you also need to keep firing missiles at all the freaks around the beacon as they are also doing a lot of damage to it even though they aren't highlighted on your radar. UV grenades also take a fair chunk of damage off them.

There is also the absolutely ginormous one that comes in and just pounds the shit out of the beacon. So you end up trying to homing rocket him from (fairly) close range, which means blowing yourself up.

What are you doing on the ground? Get a vantage point over the beacon.
