Excellent Work Daily Mail
Possibly sarcasm.

So, this story appears on the Daily Mail site this morning.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldne ... ttack.html

All very above board, Islamic extremists making promo shots of how Washington will look like when they've finished with it, lock up your daughters etc.

On an entirely unrelated note, here's some notes on new, completely non-Islamic computer game "Fallout 3".

Ha. I have submitted a comment pointg out the similarity. We shall see if it gets published.

More importantly, though, when's Fallout 3 due out, and on what platforms? It looks *ace*.
I already had :)

Not so much similarity as "Simply stealing the same screenshot" :)

PC and PS360, and it comes out in the fall. And yes, it looks most excellent. You know it's by Bethesda, the mob who did Oblivion, right?

So, it'll be buggy as shit and need 500 patches to run it OK?

A bunch of commenters on El Reg had submitted similar "You stupid twats!" comments last night, none of which had been published, so I wouldn't hold our collective breath.

Well, quite. And oddly, according to El Reg, "a Telegraph report here* claims Daily Mail hacks were hoodwinked after the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors terrorist websites, posted the image first, along with claims it had been posted to forums where terrorists were discussing the feasibility of nuclear strikes on the US and Britain."

*Now removed. A rebuttal at the SITE site: "We never said it was real and it was wrong of the Telegraph to say we did". And miraculously the Torygraph link disappears. But hte Mail one, still pretending it's real, remains.

Having just read an article on it, the visuals all but scream "Oblivion". I wonder if you'll still be able to level up by jumping? :)
I've left this comment, which might get through the net:

Quote:
You should be careful, Daily Mail. If you carry on publishing articles like this you and Al-Qaeda are going to Fallout.
THANK YOU!

I knew this was the case as I saw a similar article in the metro (which I kept).
You are all fantastic.
I couldn't help putting it on my bloggy blog. Along with the terrible picture of the metro doing the same. I name checked you Dudley hope thats ok.

I love the url for the daily mail too:

I got it from a friend myself :P You'd be better namechecking Dunos...
Posted a graceful message myself pointing out the error in my usual impeccably nice way. Even though I hate The Daily Mail and want them to choke on bucketfuls of cuckoo spit.
Given the exposure this has had on the Intereweb I expect they're getting literally* quite a few comments, and are deciding to ignore them all, in their time honoured "pretend any contrary facts don't exist" fashion.

*Yes yes yes. Shush.
