Oooh, Pardon me! I LOST my WINDS
2D WiiWare goodness.

This game is lovely. It clocks in at about 3-4 hours apparently and costs £7 (1000 points).

It's acebest. It's a 2D, side scrolling platformer, with extremely lovely 3D graphics.

It's not particularly very frantic, and you won't die in it. But the controls are wonderful. It's very relaxing to play and nice.

Once I've finished it I'll knock a review up for THE EXCELLENCE PROJECT.

is anyone else playing it?

(disclaimer: Views slightly coloured by thinking if successful, Braben might make Elite 4) - LET ME DREAM)

Do you have to point the Wiimote at the screen to play, or is it angle/button based?
Nunchuck moves you left and right and you automatically jump at the edge of something.

The Wii Remote works as a pointer, and you hold A and draw a line to send the wind that way. But it's basically flicking. It vibrates if your pointer leaves the screen but, it's never been an issue at all. It works really well. So yeah, it's in pointer mode, not gestures.

For instance flicking your little man into the air straight up, then flicking him to the side is how I get up most platforms.

Oh :(
That doesn't work so well for me. I think I might give it a go anyway, especially if it help us get Elite 4.
I might get that but I might not. It depends.
Egads! I can't believe I wrote porn!

Ah yeah, I forgot you sit far away from your TV. This game is really fun because it's so effortless to control. Add an unresponsive pointer and it may fuck it up quite a lot.

Worth sitting closer for I would say though.

No.

I'm different.

I'm special.
Since the wiipointsshop has allowed me to buy 1(!) 500 point card with my stars today, I am actually going to press the power button on my wii.

Edit: Why hasn't zardoz added his Wii code to the list. the FUCKER.
Because Stu ate it.

I'll fix the problem my wittel beardy weardy.
This is indeed a beautiful game. Very relaxing.
Ok, can't find my Wii code anywhere on WoS. Not in my emails or texts to bezzies/colleagues so, unless someone here has it (Hi Romanista!) I can't post my Wii Code till I'm at home later.

NINTENDO LOOK AT MICROSOFT - THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT!!!!1111
STILL.... CAN'T.... SWAP.... STARS!!!!! (Gnnnghhh......)
I did about an hour ago. The 500 points ones disappeared within seconds though, and it wouldn't allow me to get more than 1 "card" in a day.
2:12 in to it, and really appreciating just how short it is.

But it's also amazing.

I'm probably roughly up to where you are but it took me three and a quarter hours because I forgot that "west" means "to the left" rather than "to the right". :'(

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It does also say: "that's near where I found you asleep at the start" or something

Malc
got 100 points. moved mk64. downloaded tv king. it has dutch questions! yeah!
I swapped my stars for a Mario keyring. It came the other day. SERIOUSLY disappointed. It looked like a 3D plastic Mario figurine in the pictures (if you get me?). When it came it was a flat metallic thing with a print of Mario on it, covered in lacquer. Shite.
