I hate the wotd 'butty'. And 'spread' when referring to a collection of food. A special hell is reserved for 'roasties'.

Get out of town.

I'll make sure to put on a fine spread of roasty butties for you at the cottage.

OK gravy on chips I'm prepared to (begrudgingly) forgive someone for (EXTREMELY DEAR TO ME, mind) - but smothering bacon (and sausages FFS, with collateral damage to adjacent fried egg(s)) with... with... maple syrup .... Now that is truly unforgivable; I mean, there's only so much a guy can take. :D
Luther burgers with maple bacon are God's own fucking burger.
Nah, soz, IDGI.
Maple syrup is for ice cream, otherwise mess off with your near-saturated sugar solution.
One of the best breakfasts I ever had was waffles and bacon with maple syrup in a diner in Noo Yawk. COuldn't eat it every day though, or I wouldn't fit in the booths :)

Baking tray, foil, brown sugar, bacon, more brown sugar, drizzle with maple syrup, more foil, second baking tray, bake for 30 min until crispy, use to top burgers. Candied bacon. Fucking great.

Also if you object to maple being even adjacent to bacon then you're either not eating pancakes with maple syrup or you're not eating bacon with your pancakes, and either is demonstrably and objectively wrong.

My brunch from Sunday:

In a minute I'm going to point out to Cavey the existence of chicken and waffles and blow his mind.

With peach butter and sides of grits and fried green tomatoes:
I must admit, that looks BOTH look bloody impressive! Hmmm.
Cottage challenge? :D

I'm from the north. I love chips and gravy. But this sounds insane.
Half boiled rice would be bloody horrible.
Dunno, the hawaiians do rice and gravy a lot

You ball of seething resentment and jealousy, you. :D
Oh, fancy a game of pool? :D
Half boiled rice, Cras.

'Barm' and worse 'Barmcake' are the worst abominations in terms of describing bread.

This is the greatest thing I had in Hawaii.

Two burger patties covered in rice and gravy and two fried eggs on top.

When I first moved to Manchester, I was most aggrieved to be handed a pathetically small, dry, entirely plain and suspiciously Asda multipack-sourced plain bread roll (not even with any butter FFS), having been offered - and ordered - a "barmcake". >:|

Giphy "butty":

I always compliment a hostess on her magnificent spread.

Me too! I talk about it regularly as I absolutely loved it. I haven't been able to recreate the experience since though.
I just had a coffee IPA which is a combination of two of my favourite things.

No, he's right.

Specifically, I've been known to eat sausage, egg, and chips with a spoonful of Branston-style pickle on the side.

They really are, but there's plenty of them around. I've never seen a coffee IPA before. It worked really well.

It's Black Iris Brewery who are Nottingham-based. I'll see if I can get some bottles. It was called Morning Glory.
I find coffee porters are ok until you get to about half-way down the pint, when they outstay their welcome. See also, ginger infused beers.
