I see your yellow warning and raise you a POLAR VORTEX:

Oxford Mail wrote:
Oxfordshire is headed for a 'polar vortex' with the coldest winter in 35 years according to forecasters.

Benson was the coldest place in the UK over the weekend in a sign of things to come as temperatures in Oxfordshire plunged below freezing.
Falling for this nonsense again? Extreme weather warnings sell papers. That is all.

BUT CORBYN SAID IT WAS ALL TRUE!

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Not that Corbyn. His brother, the certified climate-loon.
Read it as yellow snow warning, which is something else entirely.
I don't understand how getting it wrong literally every year for decades is a viable approach. People are weird.

It's because it's done on purpose. Obv.

Yeah, but why do people still pay attention?

*looks at things people have voted for in recent history*

So, yeaaaah.
But...every year for decades? I mean, I get being easily swayed, and I get being misinformed - but knowing that your source has been wrong every single year, and plainly and obviously so, surely you stop believing that source?
Eh? A yellow warning is a short term "keep your eyes open" and the "polar vortex" is a journalist having fun with hyperbole you miserable joy sucking sods.
As well as warning us of the POLAR VORTEX about to hit the Shire, the Oxford Mail also informed us today about how frequently Blur's Alex James washes his hair. This stuff matters, people.

I've expanded to the annual swathe of red tops talking about the worst winter in recorded history every single year.

It makes a change from updates on Princess Diana.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
She's still dead.
Feck it. I have to catch the 5.47 from Manchester to Newcastle tomorrow morning to collect a van, drive it to Pontefract to swap for another van, then drive THAT van back to Manchester. Digits crossed for no snow to screw up my day.

Probably caused by immigrants.
It's getting colder.
Yes. Looking very gray here.
It was 2 degrees on my driveway this morning, according to the Fabia. This is relevant because I managed to lock myself out and had to wait on said driveway for half an hour. :'(
Had to de-ice the van before setting off, but not a flake of snow fell during today's peregrinations. Huzzah!

Yay! I parked the Rover at the bottom of the drive facing downhill because I want to get the train in tomorrow so I can meet my mate for a pint
No snow, but it seem the sky has deposited all its water on my house last night.
This morning was warmer in the West Midlands than the last few have been, was well above freezing today.
Probably Hell freezing over.

Yep. I've got my not so big coat on today.
Just wet today in the East Midlands.

Title.
Chaos reigns as traffic gridlock and schools close!

I dropped Cagney off at nursery at 7.45 according to the sign in sheet and got to work at 9.10. so my commute was only 50℅ longer than usual. Conditions were OK but accidents on the motorways backed traffic up.
My brother has snow and a power cut. Bloody northerners.
Falling down here in Batley.
Ooh, you are only about 10 minutes away from my brother.
Below the M62 is The Midlands
How about directly to the west?
Directly to the east and west is the shit that holds the ends down so Leeds dies not blow away. So a man once told me.

Seriously, Liverpool to Hull is probably the border, anything above Skipton is Well North.

Nah, Sheffield is north. If you think Wakefield is in the midlands you are a buffoon.

Today it rained hard from 4am, which showed me all the leaks I have to sort out in our clapped out conservatory :(

Now its sunny but not that warm.
The overnight security guys at work told me it was snowing about 3am. Just wet and a little bit chilly now.
