Could have gone with "Ship of Theseus", but no, Trigger's Broom.

Guns and Roses is a fair shout.

It's likely to be Feb before I could get over -sorry, or I'd genuinely love to help! Good luck with it all though. :)

Great news for everybody who is moving forward, keep your fingers crossed that we get a moving date on Monday!

You will many, many more days where you make that kind of offer :D

I will exchange for an 18yr old, a 15yr old, a 20yr old and a 24yr old??? One of them pays rent...?

I'll have the one who pays rent, hehe

I don't know whether it's just the start of the new term, the house stuff that's going on, or what... but she's been a ball of rage and whine at the minute and she's driving me up the wall.

Urgh, you have my sympathy. It could be the only way she can express how she feels about the state of the world; I'd have *a lot* more tantrums if I thought I could get away with it - but it's not really appropriate for a 34yr old, apparently. Can she say what's wrong? I found with mine that the biggest cause of anger for them was not being able to communicate what was wrong when it was a relatively minor thing, so it'd build with frustration into a huge big thing.

Normally it's fairly obvious what's wrong, or she specifically says, but at the moment the only thing that she's verbalising is how terrible and grumpy and mean a mother I am so I have to suck it up until she decides otherwise! :S

Oh that's a classic, isn't it... It's always mummy's fault. She obviously feels you're responsible for something she's not happy about, like the house move or sending her back to school! Hopefully it passes soon - she could be feeling anxious about it all. You know she's only taking it out on you because you're closest though, they have the unrivalled power to make you feel like the worst person in existence but you really aren't!

Heard this last night and definitely agree. He's clearly enjoying being there and his choice of music really fitted how he came across and how I've always perceived him and his growth/taming over the past 15 years.

If you blow up and properly tie a balloon the elascity of the balloon probably compresses the air a bit, yes, due to the force of wanting to return to a smaller, pre-inflated size. Usually the volume of air in the ballon stays about constant for a week or two, three, then tge balloon gets slowly smaller. Why? The molecules must be taking up the same volume, yes? So, are they escaping? If so, why only after two weeks? Does tge balloon degrade?

I wonder this often, but I remember very little of physics or how to apply it here.

I think when you're blowing up the balloon the size increases quickly first of all and then slows down but the pressure increases more.

So, do you mean it is losing air from the start but the size is maintained in the first week or two as it equates to a loss of pressure, and it’s only when this pressure is lowered to equal, I guess, the outside air pressure that you see the actual difference in size?

Yes, that seems to make sense!

Yeah, they should be 25g but they're not. They're more than that which therefore makes them monsters!

I imagine the packet doesn’t weigh 32g though

Possibly not, but how do we know without him emptying the contents first, then weighing the packet, then putting the crisps back in again? For science!

The lowest of those figures, in packet, is 30g, the highest 57g, so even without the quibbling over the weight of the bag there's a disparity of 27g.

Anyway, enjoy your crisp bonanaza.

It's because it's Aldi, so those crisps will be made from horses, which are heavier than potatoes.

1. Pick up the bag.
2. Weigh yourself, make a note of the reading and stay on the scales until after point 5 below.
3. Open the bag and eat the crisps.
4. Put the bag down (not on the scales, obv.).
5. Note the new reading on the scales.
6. Deduct the reading at point 5 from the reading at point 2 to calculate the weight of the bag.

NB if your scales aren't accurate enough for so small a measure, buy a bargain box of crisps and eat them all, then do the same calculation after discarding the bags and divide the result by the number of bags in the box, BUT DON'T PUT THE BOX DOWN UNTIL AFTER THE FINAL CALCULATION.

I've had horsemeat jerky, which I suppose is similar to horse crisps.

I bought this chicken for £13 but didn't read the description so it was VERY SMALL and MrsA wagered it on an Easter Egg Hunt with BIG CHILD vs and eight year old and Big Child is of questionable understanding when it comes to games so THE CHICKEN WAS LOST. I received a LARGE HEN in the post today.
