A cool, sleek, deadly, easy to use, sexy, child murdering instrument of horror.

Probably told this before:
When I was in Iowa, we'd been out drinking the night before and I wss chatting to the daughter of a baptist preacher. Anyways, the next day we're down at her dad's place riding horses and stuff, and he asks if we like to shoot. We agreed it would be most excellent, so he said "Boy, get the guns". Tje 12 year old disappeared into the house and reappeared a couple of minutes later. Over one shoulder was a shotgun, and the other was a rifle. We spent a most enjoyable hour with this preacher lobbing dinner plates into the air and us trying to shoot them. With the shotgun. Given the range, success was low. Turns out, we were shooting slugs, not shot, and the background foliage was getting a pasting. With the remainder of the plates, we plinked at them with the semi automatic rifle. We also had lemonade and listed to the guy's high opinion of Thatcher and how none of his guns were registered as he didn't trust the state. It was great!

A few days later, the daughter talked away us skinny dipping in a gravel pit to 3am to a policeman on the grounds of our nationality ("They're British. They..they do that") and as I left, she gave me lots of bumpf about being a better person. Which I totally read.

In other news, Oxford City Council removes Aung San Suu Kyi's 'freedom of the city' award. Her star has really fallen over the past few months.

It was before the world went mad. I landed at Heathrow and the front page of the newspaper was Jeffery Archer imprisoned. A day later, my friend got married at the church at Windsor castle. I sat in a cardinal's seat at the back.

All was quiet here till a few minutes ago. Mum text me to say their car has broken down on the hospital grounds, so I've been speaking to the garage on their behalf. Unfortunately, this is where my lack of car knowledge lets me down

"What make or car is it?"
"Er, it begins with 'I'?"
"Ibiza? Insignia?"
"Insignia! That's the one"
.. on to where they've broken down..
"And is that opposite the Pinkstones Garage?"
"Er.. I've no idea where that is"

Thankfully they're on their way to my parents now, so fingers crossed it's getting sorted.

Read the below article about 'the Hertfordshire big cat', see the images of dismembered deer. Then watch the video of the big cat someone managed to capture.

MS skyp IM thingy is the pits. So, whenever anyone just sends me an IM just saying "Hello"(which they do because they're twats) my response is to send a reply, a single word at a time, repeating the Lionel Richie song lyrics. It usually takes maybe 20 words before I get a STOP IT response.

Really busy at work at the moment, so much so that they've agreed for me to work on a project at home in the evenings for overtime. Looks like this will be ongoing for some time.

In todays post came a letter for me to attend jury service at the end of November.

If they're really struggling then you can defer it once if your work can provide a letter stating that.

Yeah, we're aware of that, ta. Think they're just going to bite the bullet and let me go on the date mentioned.

There's a business case for us taking on a junior designer (something I bring up regularly when I'm due to go on holidays etc), hopefully this situation will add more weight.

So is the issue him killing the bird or killing the bird when it was in the garden next door?

EDIT: Think the issue was he was a twat with the Police so they prosecuted him under some little-used law ( at least for pigeons)

I looked this up you can kill a large array of wildlife in your garden using a "general license" you don't need to apply for this just follow the guidelines.

This is what you can dispatch ...

Quote:

General licences
You can use a general licence to kill or capture certain wild birds (including removing or destroying their eggs and nests) to:

prevent the spread of disease
stop serious damage to livestock, food, crops, growing timber, fisheries or inland water
preserve public health and safety
conserve other wild birds
A general licence is for killing or capturing these wild birds:

feral pigeon
crow
collared dove
lesser black-backed gull
jackdaw
jay
magpie
rook
woodpigeon
Canada goose
monk parakeet
ring-necked parakeet
Egyptian goose

If the bird was not in his garden and he shot it with an air rifle, he's lucky he's not gone to prison for 5 years. Firing outside of his boundary, or within 15 metres of the centre of a public highway, would be treated as a firearms offence (even though it's an airgun) and is strict liability - no defense. Punishable by 5 years in prison (minimum).

I could watch it a hundred times and still wouldn’t get that impression. Not least because the white person immediately turns into someone else.

Sure. But if 10 people do have that reaction then it's a shitty ad campaign.

Sure. But if 10 people do have that reaction then it's a shitty ad campaign.

hundreds of people complained about that KFC ad where the call centre people spoke with their mouths full (for reasons ranging from it will encourage kids to speak with their mouth full to its insulting to call centre workers). Doesn't make the complainants any less stupid

I can only find a photo, is there supposed to be a video?

I had a look on Google Videos and found myself on a channel of some twat who was filming himself in his living room.

He couldn't describe who Dove was or what they sold but got straight into the fact everything was racist.

I suspect that 16900 of the 17000 views he had were people like me searching for some info and context :)

I didn't think (what I saw) was offensive, not sure if there was more to follow that may have given more context?

Did read Dove had run a positive campaign for some 13 years called Real Beauty

Quote:
"Real Beauty" ads have long centred around rejecting standard, racially insular notions of beauty while vowing to feature "real women of different ages, sizes, ethnicities, hair color, type or style."

Sad thing is this will be a forgotten story by Wednesday as Trump will say something offensive or Boris maybe !

This is it apparently. Rather than a TV commercial it’s just a Facebook ad by the looks of it.
