20 minutes in and I can't do much but visibly shudder at how TWD has turned from a watchable post-apocalypse zombie drama to this ridiculous comic book bullshit nonsense.

Bloody junkyard-robo-zombie.

EDIT: Christ, and the evolution of language since the outbreak... This is unwatchable.

Yeah... what the fuck has happened? New writers? Director? The whole tone has changed.

I didn't think it was that bad. Not sure why the weird people talk as they do, and the green screen was noticeable, but the Carol, Morgan and Daryl bits are still good.

Main problem right now is that Rick et al are wearing mighty thick plot armour, so all the supposedly scary scenes are kinda not scary.

It was like a TOS, the fight Spiky, and the greenscreen.

I hope it sorts itself out.

Actually wanted Neegan to turn up and stove in the heads of all those Junkyard LARPers.

Holy shit, it's actually a good, honest to goodness, decent episode today with some nice nuanced and ambiguous character acting. Why can't every episode but like this. Y'know, without any fucking tigers, robot zombies, bad CGI or terrible actors spouting drivel.

Yes. It was pretty good. I love Negan and his leadership book from HMS Bounty. The ones without Rick are a lot better.

My allefiance switched from Team Rick to Undead United in S2, then to Govenor Town, then back to Undead United, now it is with Negan's Rovers.

It felt like a filler episode but it was oooo-kay.

Mind you, I'm sick of Rick et all falling over and not immediately standing up. The fake tension was terrible.

Just like the CGI.

I thought it was a Llamasoft game for a minute there.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I was absolutely convinced Rick was dead. Honest. I was crying and everything because he was clearly dead and NO WAIT HE'S ALIVE AGAIN. Shocked

Also that was a Trump level negotiation. "How many guns do you need?", "Lots", "How many is lots?", "Like that, only twice as many so we can have another episode."

That was not very good. The deer was worse than the dolphins in GnR's Estranged video.

Awesome stuff indeed.

And doesn't all the fairground bunting look lovely and fresh and shiny considering it's been swinging in the breeze for three years?

I see the zombie 'horde' budget is getting a bit stretched too.

If I were making a list of 'things I don't miss once I finally made the decision to give them up', The Walking Dead would probably manage a pretty close tie with Class A drugs.

I think the only ones I'd like to have another go at is hallucinogens, because I really did love those, but even then it was taking my brain far too long to recover from them towards the end.

All the other stuff was on a massive curve of diminishing returns, like the last time I did MDMA I was totally flat for days afterwards, which is when I finally said 'that was the last time' - the few hours of euphoria weren't worth the days it took my battered serotonin system to get back to normal.

There was a bit of a last hurrah with inernet-sourced legal highs a few years ago (2010-ish), those LU Doves pills were fun, and mephedrone/methylone were interesting (but are all totally illegal now in that new 'cathinones' category), but even then I went on a three day bender with them and was on such a crash afterwards that four days later when the world was still totally in black and white and I hadn't felt a proper emotion for days, I realised it really was time to get off the drugs train.

(I sold my entire meph/meth stash at 50% of its retail value just to get rid of it, despite the fact it was clearly going in the ZOMG ILLEGAL category in a short space of time as it'd hit 'Daily Mail Territory' with all that 'meow meow' plant food shite.)

The mephedrone phase coincided nicely with a couple of the BEEX MAME challenges, which is why I was posting Raiden and Space Invaders scores as late (or early.....) as 3:41am in the morning - viewtopic.php?p=484544#p484544

So yes, overall, I think drugs are one of those things you can definitely have a phase for (which can be measured in years or decades), but ultimately there needs to come a time to stop, because it can't last forever.

Also, The Walking Dead, that fucking awful CGI deer, eh?

Not a bad episode but not too good either. Two zombos get stabbed in the head like a causal after thought which kinda shows how important they are these days. Crying Daryl really made me tear up though. Only it didn't. Obv.

Yeah. I'm classing it as a firm medium. Was expecting another shite episode this week (seems to alternate) so I was very slightly surprised.

Poisoned pork mentions: Zero

1) Would Russell Grant be a soft medium?

2) Well Poisoned Pork won't be mentioned until it's signposted with a massive "Previously on The Walking Dead - this bit you had totally forgotten about because each episode needs more talking and even more completely innefective zombies"

I'm completely oblivious to the daft shit that happens in this now, so it wasn't a bad episode. Kinda alright.

I'm going to bet the house that anyone expecting a big fight for the finale is going to be sorely upset as it invariably gets dragged out to next season.

I'm calling it. Next season it will be renamed Horrornation Street.

It will run for a further 20 years, new characters moving over from Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

Continuing to watch TWD is like that bad relationship you just don't get out of for a long time after you really should have done, because somewhere inside you're clinging onto a sort of desperate hope that one day it'll go back to how it was before, but deep down you know it'll never happen and all that's left is empty fucking and the sadness of silence afterwards when you realise neither of you have a thing of any note or tenderness to say to one another. And then you wash your cock in the sink before trudging three miles in the pouring rain to get the Metrolink home, as your soul screams for something better.

Why I even watch this piece of shit show is beyond me. I would be more amused seeing any random MTV reality show than this.

It's boring and dull beyond belief. And when I think it can't get even more stupid, it does. Please, if I watch this ever again, kill me.

Unless someone tells me that all characters died an horrible death. I would watch that

I often swipe over to Google Now whilst I'm having my morning shit, to see what it'd found of interest for me overnight, and it'd helpfully served up a couple of reviews and articles about the latest episode.

They told me all I need to know.

I think I'm at the stage with this where anything short of a naked Tara episode, directed by Frank Barabont, is a hard no.

Hearthly, you have an odd taste in ladies, I have to say

But this is it! This is the season where i stop watching TWD. There's too many good shows on TV for this. Currently started The Deuce but the wife says it's too depressing.

An absolute shambles of a show.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
The plan. What the fuck were they trying to actually fucking do? They had, what, 20 guns trained on that door and Negan and his gang prance out, talk shit, and still have time to run to safety when it goes off. This is A-Team level. No mention of where the mega herd of walkers had come from, and Tara was actually timing their arrival on her watch?! Still no mention of the poisoned pork. The time shift editing going to the future and back to the rousing speech didn't work at all.

The worst thing is I'll be watching it next week. Oh actually the week after as I'm on holidays.
