Could be interesting. I'm not sure about the graphical style though.

But what I find really exciting about this game is the online multiplayer leagues. When you first log into the game you will be asked for your nationality and the football club you support, then you’ll create a player avatar and add it to one of a number of ‘Clans’ full of other players’ avatars. Matches between clans online can be set up instantly and will affect the clan’s position in the online Clan ladder league.

More excitingly, you can also play for the club you support against fans from rival clubs in the online Club Ladder Leagues. Club teams will be divided into divisions and each week you can compete to try to increase your team’s average points per game to ensure they’re promoted or avoid relegation.

Imagine playing for Norwich fans against Liverpool fans and knowing that every other fan of your real life club is playing for the same clan as you online, fighting for the team you love.

That isn't new at all, I've played several online games with a similar theme, and the consistent result is that you don't give a fucking ratsass what is going on with your clan/team/country/whatevs after the first 2 minutes.

This is true. After 17 years, the time feels ripe for a new and improved disappointment.

he does need an awful lot of backers though.. he's at almost a 1000 now and not even close...wonder if he not better would have ai,end at 100000 pounds instead of 300000
and then make the rest of new sales.. or the over the goal amount

I agree, £300k seems rather high. Should be lower with stretch goals, realistically.

there indeed seems some paradox in their reasoning.. did think the goal was actually quite ambitious... of course there is a niche of a few thousands fans, they can help you through the first development start, and the rest you recoup from sales..

I met Jon Hare at Play Expo Manchester in October this year and he was showing off Sociable so I think it's stil going on. I shook his hand and said I liked Wizkid.

We had sociable soccer's community manager over at the senaidays in almelo. He was going to demonatrate sociable soccer. It was kind of disaster. He had us asked us for a laptop but ofcourse that laptop had the wrong windows version for the controller driver he needed for the game... whe. He asked us for a laptop we already frated that something like that would happen. He spend hours on the phone trying to fix it bit unfortunatelyp. We dod had a good concersation with him.

Communicatig with the comapny was quite difficult too ( even if jon sent some nice mails about the community).

It is still going out though. And still eill probably buy it. They make a big point about the vr. But since
I just want sensible soccer on steroids i'm not sure.

As it stands this is far too easy. I am winning every game 4, 5 nil. The keepers are good at short range but you can easily fool them from long distance.

The only time I didn't dish out a drubbing is when I got my lone striker sent off and there are currently no way of subbing anyone or changing formation mid-game. I still won 2-0.

It has promise though. You can string together pinball-esque moves like Sensi of old.

I took the plunge yesterday but didn't get on with the keyboard controls (seems to only have one key, which hoofs it really hard so passing was impossible). Getting a wireless receiver for my 360 controller next week so will form a fuller view then.

But it's rough as hell in parts, such as the options menus. Does feel half finished. But it shows loads of promise and I'm glad I bought it. Plays unlike anything else out there and I think it has great potential as a multiplayer.

Bring on the updates.

Well it is early access so to expect it to be finished would be unfair. It's already had some updates. When I first played it you couldn't finish the match unless you went to the menu and selected Quit Game. Otherwise it'd sit on full time forever.
