Well i'm planning to buy it, and have reserved it. Who will join me in epic battles filled with muchrooms and shields? Online gaming without the code of gentlemen probably will result in horrible whatever-they-thing-of-now-snaking -is-gone dominated matches, so we need a club of cunning gentlemen and women to combat each other. Who will meet me for a duel?

Coming April 11th, to a wii near me...

Add me in as a 'Maybes'.

Mrs A will probably hog it all the time, though.

I can't se that there's anyway that I won't be buying this, and if I am racing and Craig's nearby (which he will be) then I'll make sure that he is all mario-karted up, too.

I'll definitely be picking it up, but it'll all depend on finances and whatnot as to exactly when I buy it. Not only that, but you jammy buggers are (for once) getting a Nintendo game ahead of North America, so I'll be moseying into town a little later than everyone else.

For those of us who haven't pre-ordered, anyone know where in the UK is offering the best prices? I'd do some searching, but the over-zealous webfilter here blocks any games-dedicated sites.

Back and Busy. Very Busy.
But nice new forum and that.

I'll be picking this up when I get paid if I can afford it. End of PhD skintness is incoming. But me the my lady spent hundreds of hours on DD so it would be silly not too.

Does it? How confusing!

I only got the thing on Friday, so don't really know much about it.

1) The logo rocks.

2) I'm going to try and pick up a copy tomorrow from shops like Argos and Woolworths. That should work...

Well i started it up yesterday evening.

- completed the first three cups without as much as trying, the 50cc (where i started as i know i won't really be coming back to it after having completed it, and wanted to complete it and unlock the first characters* (King Boo! who is great)
- they blue shelled me a lot to keep it more tight, which was irritating and unfair, ofcourse, but blue shells seem to ee less 'heavy' then in DS/DD so that was better, >:(
- the weel is just lovely.. never had the urge too buy one in the past, but this one is so cute and feels just right, and it actually seems to make it easier to make a small nudge.. think i'll test it with excite truck soon
- can't really say anything about the 'automatic'drifting yet, as drifts weren't necessary at all , and i played every course only once, so didn't know the right places.
- saw some really great looking courses (wario's mine) and some really boring ones (luigi circuit, which is just too wide)
- most circuits seem to be made for multi player, as you see lots of places where you can imagine battles for the right spot will be (coco mall)
- Miis in the public, which is always good! and on the back it says you can actually race with miis when you unlock it
- but, please do some variation in the ceremonie protocollaire, it is stull the same as older ones, and that seemed an ideal place for mii integration

online it seems like a big step up to mario strikers
- you still need a friend code, but you can actually invite your wii friends, (i invited zardoz), so that you can actually use your wii code for something useful.. (not that mii swapping ain't fun)
- time trial records are really nicely presented ass you can see how far the top 10 (of the world/ your friends/ your continent) is ahead of you
- played two races completely lag free.. you start with a raring of 5000 and it goesa up or down according to your performance. I'm now at 5080 after a 3rd and 6th place (on a circuit i had never driven)
- voting is still in
- you see a nice little globe animation with Miis where your opponents are from, which makes it a bit more personal..

923 bananas
:hat:

I did post this in a separate thread as I hoped hat people who had already read this wouldn't miss it that way, but Craig's old Wii was replaced so he has a new Wii code

6934 1122 3848 8480

Hope to see some of your Mario-karting a bit later!

I still have my own Wii in London, so this isn't a replacement for that, so please don't erase me!

Thanks for reading!

(I will now laboriously add in all of the Wii codes in the gamertags thread.)

Pauline is in Plymouth today doing some shopping, she has strict instructions to pick up this for HMV (as I have £30 worth of vouchers which she is using). I hope to god she gets it right and they haven't sold out.

My Wii Code is (repeated here as It's not on all the lists I've seen kicking around)

6530 9732 1985 1853

And I notice I have about 20 friends already, despite not doing anything with it since I putting all the codes in when I first went online with it (September last year)

We got a Bowser, and a Princess Peach - princess peach is considerably faster than Bowser in the table-top races we had in Nero. I was hoping for a Yoshi, though :( I knew the second figure wasn't a Yoshi when I opened it as it was so heavy!

As I never preordered on line I Just picked up a copy from Game (which was heaving with people doing the same) and an extra wheel from Woolworths of all places.

I had to walk through thunder, lightening, hail and rain to get this game. It better be good.

I'll be sorting out my Wii number thingys this weekend if people fancy any shenanigans.

OK, given it a go and it's just bloody ace.

The wheel makes racing really easy for me - it feels very natural.

one thing, though - you have to have a special blinkin' 12 digit code for your friends when playing MarioKart (gggnnngghhhhh)

Craig's is:
0473 7906 2119

Mine is:
1032-1365-1086

Hope to see you all there later!

Nah, leave it, it's ok

It's not like I ever type spinglo... any way.

Might confuse some new people if they ever want to refer to me by my screen name...

OK, update on what I just said - if you download the MarioKart channel (which you can do in-game) there is a little banner at the very bottom which changes between three options - one of those is to invite friends from your message board, which I now realise is what Romanista meant - still a step more than is really needed, but it saves on a bit of fiddling around at least.

So hang on - do you need to tell people who are already your friends your new code, or not?

No. But you have to invite them to be Mario Kart friends.

90 minutes and counting until I try this...

Can someone post exactly what I need to do, to play multiplayer please.

Because I am lazy, but mainly because I only have a little time, and I want to try it straight away...

:)

Argh, I really want to play the game hard.
And I've got to go out for a birthday tonight.
I'm so going to end up playing this drunk at like 3am...
