I've had a quick look through and I can't see anything too obvious (you're acting like a townie, but who wouldn't be). However I did fail to spot Myoptika's many photo related posts, so I guess I'm just an idiot.

:-)

Doesnt quite work out like that

and if you want to play with numbers it can get very interesting (*)

(*depending on how geeky you are)

So we have 18 players

We have up to 6 Mafia + 1 SK so max of 7 'bad' guys so a 7/18 chance of hitting one of them (1 in 2.6)
For the least we have 3 Mafia + 1 SK so a 4/18 chance of hitting one (1 in 4.5)

Now for the fun part

If the roleclaims we've had are accurate :

So CG is Census taker
Lace is townie
Malc is townie
myoptika is <ahem>
And for everyone else who knows they are a townie lets call it "yourself" thats 5 people who are not scum so your odds change to

If there are 7 baddies then 7 in 13 or 1 in 1.8 chance of hitting scumm !
If there are 4 baddies then 4 in 13 or 1 in 3.25 chance of hitting scumm

Realistically there are not going to be *all* of those mafia but the odds for the others are :

5 baddies 1 in 2.6
6 baddies 1 in 2.1

If you believe the claims we've had then we're basically 50/50 for getting a baddie

Okay the negative.

We have a doctor who we dont know.

Odds of hitting that doc is 1 in 18
If you believe the role claims then its 1 in 13
If we have a cop then the chance of hitting them changes to
1 in 9 or if you believe the claims 1 in 6.5

And i'll stop before it gets too scarey (if you look at it from the mafia side then they *know* who they are - everyone else must die and the claims if believed mean they have reasonable odds of hitting the doc / cop (if there is one) / SK)

Today's going to end without a lynch, isn't it?

After re-reading just his comments I can see the hints as well , however who knows if they can be believed.

We have 5 hours , lets get a target and get the noose going.

I'm not convinced Bluecup is scum.

But he might well be.

I reserve the right to change my vote yet again later on. Maybe I can vote for everybody in a single day?

Next on my list is

[vote:RichardGaywood]

I don't see the link between me accusing a lot of people and being scummy. We should be going after those that are there but not there people. Those who have put their oar in but not splashed around but still powering forward to victory. Surely everyone should of learnt that by now.

Shit Ive just remembered Ive wasted a day and a half of everyones time by not using the power of the coins to find the people out. Although they were stupidly accurate last time and might be considered cheating. Ill post the results up in 5 minutes, we could combine mine and dudley suspicions to make a selection of people that we suspect but are all vanilla townies. Kind of a working backward kind of tactic.

However, I do think that misrepresenting what people have said in the past and using that to make them look guily is very scummy. Please explain this behaviour.

There's a lot of townie roleclaiming going on.

Which is a bit silly with 2 power role targeting killers around.

The results are in and make interesting reading, heres the list of all participants and the number of heads they got out of five flips of a belgian 1 euro coin.

The Rev Owen-4
Mr Chris-3
Gazchap-2
Joans-3
Bluecup-2
Zaphod79-4
Curiosity-3
Myoptika-4
Mr Russ-5
Plissken-1
Goddess Jasmine-0
Runcle-2
ComicalGnomes-5
RichardGaywood-2
Dudley-1
Mr Dave-2
Lacesensor-3
Spinglo sponglo-2

So 2x5headers and including my suspicion aswell which may mean he is innocent. also Goddess Jasmine has got a 0 which I havent seen before and could mean anything so I put her in a second flip aswell.

Mr Russ-3
Comical-2
GJ-4

So GJ got the most heads in the second round but she didnt get 5 heads in the first, and my suspicion got the most heads out of the 5 headers but Im unsure about my suspicion being right and then theres comical whos role claim has become more doubtful because of a few flips of a coin.

Ok... I've weighed up the options. Bluecup is tempting, but doesn't seem overly manipulative, and I think we need to see quite what his accusations lead to in time as to whether he's trustworthy or not. So with that in mind...

[vote: Dudley]

Mainly as he's done nothing except gripe at being lynched last game. Which is very undudleyesque play (Well, ok, the griping is, but the rest isn't)

Hijacking this thread to see if other people can/can't see Malc's/GJ's avatars.
You can also vote for a lynching if you like, as we've only got 3 hours left.

That was my defence against the ripple of votes that was being cast against me at the time and wasn't aimed at your comments.

Although I still stand by my vote. I think you are playing the "there but not there" tactic of hiding which is emphasised by you generally being very agreeable with everyone. Your first couple of posts:

richardgaywood wrote:
Aargh blackmailing discussion is hurting my head.

However: all the talk about roleclaiming cop etc, and how if two people roleclaim cop we vote to lynch one, also applies to the census taker role CG just claimed. He's either genuine or scum in disguise... and I'm keeping my eye on him for that reason.

Other than that, so far, I got nothin'.

I am intrigued by your ideas and would like to subscribe to your newsletter, The Fence-Sitting Biweekly.

In other news, [vote:lacesensor], for casting around apparantly random scummy accusations whilst barely saything anything of note.

These two and the way you are handling me highlights the scum style of posting in my humble view.

Then there was the increase then decreasing of posts after I pointed out your post frequency. Which may or may not mean anything.

Or I'm a loon.

I thought you previously had a picture of a baby , but for the last X number of days it just said "user avatar" , it now shows a flower :-)

We have 2 and 1/2 hours left to come to a decision otherwise the first lynch vote fails and the town drops 2 members.

Can we have a vote update on who's voting for what ?

I was going to use the vote counter, but it crashed as soon as I tried to run it. Here's a manual one with all the inaccuracy potential you might expect.

Bluecup - 5 votes (The Rev Owen, GazChap, Mr Russ, Plissken, Lacesensor)
ComicalGnomes - 4 votes (Mr Chris, RichardGaywood, Dudley, Spinglo Sponglo!)
Curiosity - 1 vote (Goddess Jasmine)
Mr Russ - 1 vote (Runcle)
Goddess Jasmine - 1 vote (Curiosity)
RichardGaywood - 1 vote (Bluecup)
Dudley - 1 vote (Mr Dave)
Mr Dave - 1 vote (Comical Gnomes)

Not voted - Joans, Zaphod79, Myoptika

It'd be correct too...

Bluecup : 5 votes ( The Rev Owen, Gazchap, Mr Russ, Plissken, Lacesensor )
Curiosity : 1 votes ( Goddess Jasmine )
Mr Russ : 1 votes ( Runcle )
Goddess Jasmine : 1 votes ( Curiosity )
ComicalGnomes : 4 votes ( Mr Chris, RichardGaywood, Dudley, Spinglo sponglo! )
RichardGaywood : 1 votes ( Bluecup )
Dudley : 1 votes ( Mr Dave )
Mr Dave : 1 votes ( ComicalGnomes )

No Vote : 3 votes ( Joans, Zaphod79, Myoptika )

With 18 Players alive and free, 10 votes are needed for a lynch and 13 votes are needed for there to be no lynch.

---

So at the moment, the only people near a lynch are Bluecup and Comical. I wouldn't vote for Comical. I don't really want to vote for bluecup either. He's been consistent in his methods, posted a fair amount, and doesn't seem to be working on a hidden agenda. (Besides, if he is scum his willingness to talk will likely play to our favour at some point)

I'm not anticipating enough people turning up to swing a vote for anyone else.

Because if we dont think hes a bad guy then its just a waste of a townie.
Who would you vote for?
If theres anyone I think that seems suspicous on your list we can start our own vote against someone.

We've no idea whether he's a bad guy or not.
Which would you regret more, killing him and finding out he's a townie or not killing him and finding out he's sk/mafia?

It's day 1, I really don't know who seems suspicious. Are some of the people posting the odd comment here and there mafia, are they posting all the time, or hardly ever?

Mr Russ and his lack of a comical accent is a bit suspicious I guess.

I don't know, really. No idea.

I'm going to [vote:Curiosity] because of his they/them posting. Straws? Yes. But I don't have any better ideas right now.

Changed my avatar too, any better?

Voting for someone who just voted for you?

Oh I say...

:hat:

I don't mind getting lynch. Hopefully I've provided some reactions and info with my out bursts that helped the town. Just hope people use them.

Throwing poo is a dangerous game, but I thought it better to use my townie role to get some reactions or else it would of ended up being "I vote x because of my gut" and then a bandwagon when people got bored.

Oh indeed, but it's a classic scum tactic.

The they/them thing was in reference to the incident I was referring to, when my close relative was not a townie but a member of a horrible cult.

I believe a relative of mine mentioned the time he was in a cult with a relative of yours.

I am back from work. Here are my as usual excellent thoughts.

I only voted for BlueCup as a joke this morning. I don't want to be associated with a lynching of him (even though he is flinging a lot of accusations around), as other people have now started to vote for him. I will be changing my vote in a moment. Keep reading.

Zaphod is either a massive help or a hinderance. he is doing the working out of the maths for us, which I like to be done, but made a few errors about people's posts counts. Based on Lynch All Liars, he would be one to be suspicious of if he's done that deliberately.

Runcle is a shit for voting for me, but I'm grinning like a loon at the fact that the coins chose me as the maximum person to be suspicious of!

When I first started reading this thread again this afternoon, I was going to argue for a nolynch, but as Plissken(?) pointed out, there's no townie role that can kill, so a nolynch actually does play to the hands of the mafia this time around. Although it worked last time, nolynch gives us no help this time, and we should be suspicious of those lobbying for it (Rev Owen?)

Finally, Goddess Jasmine has been quiet, but her relatives have also been in the past, so I'm not sure whether that's trying to slip under the radar, or being normal.

Nobody has claimed to be the cop, or dropped hints that I can see, so there's nobody obvious for the doctor to protect, unless he's going to protect CG. It was a bold claim to make as census taker, but if he is, then we should try and glean as much info from him as we can, to save zaphod having to do the maths, and possibly lead us astray.

Finally, I am going to change my vote to [vote:Zaphod79] as he has given us misinformation (either intentinally or not, and has yet to vote).

Please let me know your thoughts on the above.
