Just a quick thought. If we have, for example, a mafia set up with a Don and goons. Will whoever the don targets be who gets hit by the goon? and what happens to the goons target?

With the reasoning that any bad guys should know who they are through targeting Davpaz, but thinking about it it might not actually be that simple.

Okay, I still don't understand the Trooper voting going on, I've re-read his posts and he seems to be coming up with reasoned arguments to me.

This makes me FOS Myp, Russ and APOD for voting for him in the first place.

Also slightly suss of Russ and Bobby's interaction this morning.

The people I contacted and targeted last night are still here and I didn't have any dreams that I remember.

It's really just a hazy memory, the first time it was the word Mauve, in italics, the 2nd time it was the word Ebony struck through, and then the word Eagle in italics...

I wonder if Malc gets a message each time somebody either tries to contact him or target him. The italics and strikerhroughs could denote a contact or a target?
The words themselves could be a code word for each person, or be related to their win condition?

I received a message last night and we have a traitor in our midsts and gaseous mists.

Disclosing this information may put myself at harm but the day is going slow as hell and you all seem like clueless bums.

The message that interrupted my drugged slumber was "Grim... - he's a bad guy. I'm sure of it."

I never tried to target or contact Grim..., and none of the people I have chosen have gone. I won't tell the identities of my targets and contacts in fear I endanger their lives, I'm not sure I have a skill or if this message was sent to me by someone else. Our captor seemed to suggest all our Law and Order were dead in the second day of morning although that seems vague, I questioned him to see if I was a doctor wondering if I had role-blocked someone or protected someone last night but alas I am not.

Perhaps I'm a dentist.

I feel tired again and feel I can no longer stay awake, maybe 10 more minutes, I'm sure I'll be awake again at around 3 unless the day ends early which it now possibly may, so with endangering my life I'll bid farewell for fear I will not make it through the night.

I do want to hear what Grim... has to say on the matter, and also we have to consider that even if Runcle received this message, we don't know the intentions of the person that sent it.

It also seems completely different to my messages, which is interesting.

Yes, the message could be genuine and Grim... might be evil, that's possibility one. Possibility two is, as you say, that Runcle is lying. But there's at least one other possibility: that someone has planted false information on Runcle according to their own (possibly evil) agenda. I don't think it's quite as 'either/or' as you think if you consider that a possibility.

Unfortunately it's one of those times when you can only really test any hypothesis with a lynch. :/

I don't think he's lying but I do know he's wrong, because I have been. I'm a mason.

Add into the pot that Malc could be a big fat fantasist, and his code words/messages could be a lie and he is playing with us, and the real messages people are get actually make sense

How to use this information for the best possible result?

Vote for Grim... turns out to be true and grim is bad, runcle is telling the truth, malc is unknown but greater possibility of lying
Vote for Grim... turns out to be false, runcle is either lying or been lied to. malc is unknown but greater possibility of lying
Vote for Runcle, turns out runcle is bad but not necessarily lying as he may not know he was bad! Makes grim... less likely to be bad, says nothing about malc
Vote for Runcle, turns out he is good, makes it more likely that he was telling the truth, but not certain, would mean we pretty much have to vote for grim... the next day. says nothing about malc.

From that list, i'd say a vote for Grim... makes the most sense in giving us the most info to go on in the future.

If you never tried to target Grim... then this must have been sent by someone else. That makes me certainly rather suspicious of motive (from you, or if you're telling the truth, from the 'message sender'). Especially as we already had two detective roles, and now they've gone - and it looks like Malc has another form of detective role of some sort. Another one on top of that, I find deeply unlikely.
