It's been a hell of a night in Gotham City.

Gothamites awake to find their family gone, their friends nowhere to be found. Some run out into the empty streets, others turn on their TVs. The Gotham-based networks are all down or showing test signals, but those with satellite dishes manage to tune to the national news channels, who are all talking about a single story...

...the end of Gotham City!

Details are sparse, but it seems a terrible virus has been unleashed on Gotham. It kills quickly, then dissolves the bodies. Some reports state this virus was going to be unleashed world-wide by evil genius Ra's Al-Ghul but that the mythical Batman stopped him from completing his full plan, sacrificing Gotham City in the process. Others simply mention rumours of biological weapon research being carried out in a secret Gotham government laboratory with a bad safety record.

All the news channels, though, agree that Gotham has been quarantined. Looking out across the cityscape, the Gothamites can see army helicopters circling above the edges of the city and some think that the vague shapes on the roads of the surrounding countryside may be armored cars or tanks.

It seems the survivors are stuck in Gotham for the foreseeable future and, though they could not say why, they all start to gather in the grounds of Arkham Asylum. Maybe, in a world gone mad, Arkham, the beacon of insanity, feels somehow comforting.

A quick head count shows that there are twenty-five Gothamites left alive out of the millions that once lived here. Curiosity and Mimi are shouting out of the barred windows of Arkham, begging to be let out, but their cries are ignored.

The villagers talk of what they have seen and several mention seeing some bodies in the streets with bullet wounds in the back of their heads. These people were not killed by the virus, which leads to one horrible conclusion - the mafia are still active in Gotham! And who knows which freaks have survived the plague?

The time for social niceties is over. The government and the rule of law have failed these poor people and they begin to erect a gallows outside the asylum.

The only question is - who should they hang?

Apologies for posting this is in here as I was originally playing and now I'm not, so I can't see the Dead Thread.
Can someone sort this please or I'll have to do some work.
Thanks.

I don't think I can, or if I can I don't know how, but hopefully someone will.

Also, some people have said they won't be around this morning. I know Craster won't be near a computer until mid-afternoon at the earliest. So don't lynch anyone for being silent too quickly.

"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease release me, let me go..."

I'm stuck here in Arkham, which has ruined my original plan for my first post merely to be:

Vote:ComicalGnomes.

Bah, and what's more, humbug.

I will be around all day. Deciding who out of the above 'Oh I'm busy today' types will be getting a sore throat.

Are we all Goths now we live in Gotham?

Thoughts - There are no vanilla townies. There are guards and cops, and we can afford to lose some of these, but not to let them get to zero because then we lose either the asylum or the commissioner's Roleblock. We also have a 7 day limit for finding Ivy.

Further notes: a lot of the special roles are 0-1. I doubt we have them all.

Prediction. We lynch him now, he's a non-descript role with a town win condition.

The town goes on to win.

He wins.

No. If we lynch him he turns out to have been the Secret Loon that Rev Owen neglected to tell us about. If we don't lynch him, he's the Mafia Don or The Joker.

The bastard.

Right, I can't run the vote counter program, so if anyone can, feel free to keep us updated with the current vote counts during the course of the game.

The bit at the bottom doesn't work in this game. Should read:

With 23 players alive and free, 12 votes are required for a lynch and 18 votes for there to be no lynch.

Also, you have mail back.

Yes. The number of votes required to lynch someone is a majority of the players able to vote.

Yeah, if you take out the asylum players then the numbers are right and (I think) votes from them will be disregarded. Unfortunately so will votes for them, look below. Hmmm.

But you don't want to free them. Or something.

But, yes, you can lynch inmates.

Ive just been looking at the player list and possible roles and I reckon there will be between 6-9 bad guys playing this game, leaving us with a chance of around 25%-35% chance of lynching someone against us.

That's not taking into account the Mafia blockvote that's likely to guide us to a goodie, but that's really by the by. Our best information-gathering tool is stringing someone up, but I want to hear from everyone before I join the baying mob rushing to the gates of Comical's castle armed with torches and pitchforks.

Hmm. I wonder. Seems to me that after a few games of the scum players mostly jumping into positions 3-10 in the bandwagon, they may be trying something new. Like starting a bandwagon perhaps.
