Well we've got the forum clock being about 5 minutes fast, meaning Zaphods post should have counted, but a decision was made that it wouldn't. If this is part of the game, then it suggests santanalian is something other than the demented elf.
However, there's also the message from zaphod which santanalian claims not to have received, but also claims that curio told him he just forgot to send it on. If that was the case, you'd expect curio to confirm this. If this one is part of the game, then yeah, it does point to santanalian being a bit dodgy.

Obviously, if either of those aren't part of the game, i.e. Zaphod posted in time, but we're just not counting it, or curio really did forget to pass on the message but won't confirm it in the thread, then that strikes me as a bit shitty, so I choose to assume it's part of the game.

Look, it got down to 7 elves vs the serial killer. I thought I'd make it interesting.

If Sat is an elf, I don't think he's playing up to his win condition by asking others to vote for him. Give him a warning

If you're part of a team, then voting for yourself can quite easily be towards your win condition.

So there are two possibilities here :

1) Santalian is the demented elf (which we know he's not) - him voting for himself removes the last person who can hit his win condition so its definitely against it
2) Santalian is a normal elf - him voting for himself removes one person from the pool , the killer will remove another overnight and we end up with 4 people who still wont talk and you require 3 for a majority to add someone else to the naughty list

It may suit him personally to be removed from the pain and torture of the game but its not helping the team at all.

A *non* vote today , the killer removes someone overnight (not santalian) leaves 5 tomorrow with 3 for a majority which I think works better for the town

I've allowed it in the past, but I wouldn't if it went against his win condition (ie. if he were the elf). If I got involved I'd blanket ban it for everyone, though (otherwise everyone would know he's not on a team).

(I'd see it much the same as not voting for the blatant bad guy earning censure due to not trying to meet the win condition (See: Malc at the cottage) or deliberately leaving the SK alive as the same*.)

Players are never mod-killed though! We've known that forever.

Some have been - the issue is not really '1' player being quiet - its 5 or 6 and then it just means you need to pick randomly between a number of people who have either not posted or virtually not posted.
