Currently at Cherwell services; post-holiday blues kicked in powerful fast so I'm scoffing a Danish pastry to attempt to simulate some serotonin. Also, coffee. I need all the coffee.

Cottage good.

Body hurty.

Can someone please tell me the name of the game that we played where four people dressed as toad chased the person with the gamepad on the WiiU?

Currently on the M11.

Had a fantastic weekend. Thanks so much to everyone for being so brilliant.

Johann Sebastian Joust was a lot of fun, though personally I loved the Pole Riders game the most.

Technohat was amazeballs. Some great games of Last Night On Earth, Some Word Game That Other Matt Had (sample dialogue: "Name cities that are not capitals" ... "Cardiff"), Revolution, Ticket To Ride, Mafia and Cards Against Humanity.

Yay cottage!

Looked on Amazon to see how much Asda stiffed me for my Demolisher - it's £33, £6 more expensive!

Just waiting for the train to take me the last 10 miles home.

Amazing weekend with so many highlights there are too many to list whilst typing on a phone

Loved seeing everyone again and also meeting new people too.

Can't wait for next year and hopefully I won't need to call in so many favours next time.

I not long ago finished unpacking. Not that it's taken me all this time, but I had to keep stopping for a little sit down.

I can't believe I didn't get slo-mo video of the Nerf autocannon doing its thing.

Excellent cottage. Great games, great drinking, great people. Cheers to you all.

Highlights were the game of Cards against Humanity that was non-stop hilarity, the quiz and scum as they always are, and the game of Last Night on Earth that basically went like this:

"Right, we have fifteen turns to search all these buildings for gasoline and car keys then get them back here to the car without being eaten by zombies!"
*card draw*
"You mean this gasoline?"
*card draw*
"And these car keys?"
"Right, er - sorted, heros win!"

".....braaains?"

"Okay, that's 1-0. Let's try again."

Then the second the zombies look like they have a chance, we pick up both again.

Is the game skewed towards the heroes, or are Grim and Cras just really unlucky?

Oh, and the absolutely amazing half a game that Bobby and Russ's characters spent just shagging in the school, before Bobby abandons his girlfriend to a pack of zombies, letting her set herself on fire in a heroic last stand, while running in the opposite direction as fast as he possibly could.

The people on the boardgamegeek forums don't seem to think it's skewed.

Also, I've just noticed it has three or four meaty expansions. Uh oh.

And the zombies were a hair's breadth away from winning the game of Fuel The Truck (or whatever it was called).

Zombie Champions:

Basically, these zombies can bought bought throughout the game using a combination of experience points (which I've been told were introduced in Timber Peak) and Spawn tokens. Whenever you spawn, you may choose to not place 1 or more zombies on the board and instead put an equal number of spawn tokens on either champion's reference card. When you have enough spawn tokens (6 for a behemoth, 2 for feral dead), you can pay the experience cost (2 and 1) to put that champion into play.

The Feral Dead are your classic fast zombies, moving 2 spaces each turn, but they're also Relentless, which means whenever they win a fight, you must immediately fight them again. And again. And again. This can be fairly hit and miss – in our first few games, it didn't happen very often, especially since they are still highly susceptible to gunshots (they only have 1 wound marker), but when it does happen, it can be a wild ride. A few Feral Dead can take a single hero from zero to dead in one fight, even against good weapons.

The Zombie Behemoth is even more fun. It moves D3 spaces, has 3 wound markers (more than some heroes!), can often ignore wounds completely, and can also inflict multiple wounds in a single fight. Really the only reason the zombie player is not completely unstoppable now is because it takes a long time to be able to get the Behemoth into the game, and because it is still susceptible to Hero cards that 'instantly kill' zombies. The standard rules also state that Zombie Champions are one use only, just like Heroes, although one of the official scenarios changes that rule.

Q. Is there a limit to how many Event cards a player/Zombie player can use in a turn? For example we had a fight with a Hero vs. Zombie and the Zombie player used ‘Uuuurrrggghh’ and ‘Braaains’, this gave the Zombie in question 3 fight dice and of which could add +1 to any of those rolls, is this correct?
A. Zombies are not restricted in how many cards they play in a turn (even in the Hero Turn), with the exception of 'Fight' cards of which they are limited to one per combat. Individual Zombies can only really hold one idea in their head at a time and it is usually, ‘Tasty braaiinnnss!’

Two things I noticed when having bath last night:

1) I'm 2lb down on when I left last Friday. Marking this as a Craster Fail. Chef Grim... is also fail.

2) I am so covered in bruises, possibly from playing Joust with the likes of Grim... and Malc that my bruises have bruises. I am massive patches of blue all over. I look like Smurfette.
