I'm quite looking forward to this! Like last year, I'm exempting myself from being iced until after the kid is in bed. However, she may well decide to ice you all - she's a joiner - so do watch out for that. She's also less likely to steal your beer (she's learnt to ask first) and is more likely to con cake and sweets out of you.

I haven't got time to make anything nice to bring, but I may chuck a cake tin in the boot and make something while we're there. If I do, it will most likely stem from a sense of guilt at having eaten all of the fudge.

I'll be bringing a couple of sharp knives as the ones there are crap. Things like hand towels and tea-towels are always needed if anyone has spares to bring.

Is there a DVD player at the Cottage? I can't remember if someone brought theirs or it if it was already in situ last year.

I think there is a DVD player, otherwise Curio usually brings his laptop. I'm not sure how we watched DVDs last year.

Fair warning to all; I have developed a stinking head cold over the course of the week (it's grim up north etc...). I shall likely be found wrapped in a blanket on a sofa with a box of tissues and medicinal wine.

That laptop has since bitten the dust.

There must have been a DVD player to watch the amazing movies what we did watch.

With a TV that size, it would be absurd not to have a DVD player. I am certain there is one. If there isn't, I am certain he will give us his.

Last Night On Earth
Ticket To Ride Europe
Forbidden Island >> this is like a kinder, gentler Pandemic
Rummykub >> this is surprisingly ace, starts off like Gin Rummy but with tiles but then breaks your brain

There's a small chance I may be in that part of the world on Saturday and it would be nice to put more faces to names.
