If you drop a phone, they can smash.

I'm not in the habit of dropping phones, because that would be foolish.

I don't have car insurance because I'm a very good driver.

Naughty person. Besides hardly equivalent, as other people are a large factor in road safety, not so much phone safety. Also cars cost more to replace anyway.

I do have phone insurance, as provided by the bank. If, for whatever reason, It breaks, I claim on that, use backup phone for as long as it takes a newer phone to arrive. No need for a case.

NatWest's "phone insurance" has a £70 excess charge now. Seventy pounds!

Typically my phone is either in my hand, my pocket or charging, and is locked anyway, so little opportunity for others to do anything untoward.

I use a case just because I generally look after my stuff and it upsets me to see my phone getting all dinged up and scratched from things in my pocket. Also the residual value is a vague consideration too. A case will usually pay for itself there.

Indeed. My SGS2 looks brand new.

Which reminds me, I must sell that.

Does anyone want to buy a Samsung Galaxy S2?

Leeds looks nice at times. This is Clarence Dock, where the Royal Armouries is. And Yuppy Hutches, remnants of a more affluent time.

Today, mere days after finally getting a ssd for our build server's os and apps, i decided 'screw it, I'm asking for 3 disks to make a 4 disk raid0 out of the hard disk'. Approved by the boss within half an hour and being ordered in the morning.

Something weird is going on at work.

A tip for people buying flat pack wardrobes, measure your ceiling height before you get them delivered

In other news, it's possible to get a 240cm long box in a 7 series if you need to take a box back to ikea...

My last trip back from Ikea in the M5 was hilarious - 3 240cm long boxes, 4 shorter ones that made up the rest of the wardrobe and a desk, a single mattress and four light fittings.

Weird thing is, I could have sworn it gave me an improvement on my fuel consumption ;)

I had the same with 9 60x60 concrete paving slabs and a couple of bottles of paraffin in the boot. Easily 4-5mpg improvement. Weird.

I like the way he measured the box to see if it would fit in the car, but not his room to see if it would fit in his house!

No measuring involved in either case, hence the issue :D
Order online, find out it doesn't fit, take box down to car, stuff it in, find out it fits!

Then go online and check measurements of replacement wardrobes, and measure your ceiling height...

Whilst my bus was waiting at a stop, I saw probably the most horrifying advert in a print shop window I've ever seen. In big colourful letters it proudly boasted:

"We sell celebrity cutouts! Ask inside for our range!"

The nightmares...the possibilities....

When I worked in the classical music part of a record shop as a teen, someone did once ask me to take their photo next to the life-size cut-out we had of Lesley Garret.

Really sorry to hear you've been so wiped out and in need of a rest. I was back to work this morning after a bit of a tidy up, been doing loads of wedding planning all evening and still at it now. We are still finding stuff all over the house. I worked Friday, so a normal length weekend for me, but a wonderful one at least.

Bugger. I've just realised than when I bought an Android game a while back I was giving money to someone who'd cloned the game rather than the original developer. The game didn't require any permissions so I'm not worried about security or anything but it's not great to realise you've given money to some scamming arsehole. :( I've emailed the real dev with links to the cloned versions so at least they can get them taken down.
