I'm sure in one of the dozens of other times this has came up the suggestion was to write a page or so describing what happened roughly and then refer people to it when someone new asked about it

Grim... probably has an unusual URL he can use for it 'sowheredidthisallstartfromthen.com' or similar

Here's a lesson then! The drop statement should always be part of the same script as the create statement :)

Which would help how?

It would have dropped the wrong table on the test box, and he'd have fixed the script, or if it was right in the script, would have been correct when done in production.

If you run it on the live box, it's still going to mash your data.

Well yeah, but if you run it on the test box and it drops your table, you go 'holy shit, that dropped the wrong table' and fix it. Issue here was that the create script was fine, but the drop was manual, and because it was manual, you can do it differently between test and prod.

That's preferable fo sho, but the next thing will be "I dropped my shiny new table and then the create statement didn't work and I lost all the work I did on it" ;)

Did you get the table back, Russ?

No, I thought about restoring from a backup and saying 'hmm, no data seems to have populated today. that's odd'.

Instead I will wait for someone to notice, then mumble something about a new financial year and the data being archived off in preparation.

He means the short-lived temporary home at a forum CUS had (hence WOC, or World Of CUS).

STAG was a forum set up for people to hate us on (wink wink, STAG fans. I see you all reading!)

It's not, it's our web filter. The hardware is so out of date it literally cannot handle the traffic any more.

Hmmm, oddness. I went to look at hilarious but utterly NSFW webcomic Oglaf by Googling for it as usual. Except that the actual comic itself doesn't turn up. You get pages and pages of results about Oglaf but not the actual site which is really fucking weird. I even logged out of Google in case I'd accidentally hidden it one day or something but nope; still no sign of it. Even if you type "oglaf.com" into Google you get nothing.

Nah, I was so confused by nothing turning up in the results that I checked my own spelling a good few times just in case I'd cocked it up. On Bing and Yahoo the actual site is the top result as you'd expect so it looks like this is specifically Google related shenanigans.

I have such a crappy illness at the moment; a cold mixed with random throwing up. It's amazing. As well as being sick every time I ate and drank for the last three days, it's been smell related - if I didn't know it was impossible, I'd be shitting myself about it being morning sickness - wet mud at work set me off yesterday, as well as the smell of coffee and fabric softener on drying clothes when I came home. I can eat again today but I'm still being sick when I smell some 'normal' smells!

Maybe he just needs to stick around for the second half of the show, and he'll find out it isn't.

She. Apparently the show has been a mixed blessing in that people recognise what lupus is now, but actually believe that it hardly exists.

Also anyone that finds out that she has it says "It's never lupus" to her.

Like I did.

A friend has tindr on her phone. Jesus fuck, the guys need to work on their game. "Hi hun, yo sexy" is not going to work on a text based medium (unless you are playing the odds). Besides, she crazy hot. Anyways, teenagers got it made nowadays with stuff like that.

I have had a doctor explain to me the possible side effects of the medication I was taking, one of which was Lupus. My response of "It's never Lupus" was met with total confusion. I didn't really know what to do.

Right, it works like this. You can't just get a star by hiring some lass who'll get her tits out just so she can get in a Hollywood film. Exploitation doesn't get you a star. It's got to be someone with some cred behind them. Someone who thinks the role deserves tits, see?
