You'll have to tell us whether Super School Day is any good. I liked the video.

WARNING NOTICE: iPhone 5S Folk: DO NOT GET THIS.

Game crashing bug prevents progress after the smash the eggs game about 10 seconds in. Ridiculous shite.

You're not missing much, it's not very good. The mini-games are pretty uninspired and the vaguely humourous presentation can't make up for the boring and repetitive nature of the entire thing. Throw in incredibly confusing instructions at point and some dodgy controls and it's getting uninstalled.

If you want a genuinely funny and brilliant Wario-ware style mini-game collection with loads of style and humour then you want Dumb Ways To Die (out on iOS and Android). Apparently it's an extension of a set of public safety adverts in Australia to warn kids of the dangers around trains but you wouldn't know that from playing it and it's very good stuff. Certainly it successfully nails the frantic nature of the best of these types of games and makes sure you're always just on the verge of being over-loaded (right up until the point where you are actually over-loaded and you lose) which is the crucial element needed to keep things fun. As with all such things there's a limit to the amount of entertainment involved as at some point you'll have seen all the mini-games but it's free so who cares?

I ddi try and rally some support and competition for Dumb Ways To Die in the iOS thread yonks back, but people didn't like it. I thought it was great though with some terrific presentation and, of course, that song.

I'm very surprised at that actually, I'd have thought it would be right the street of most people here. I've never heard the song though as I rarely play games on my phone with the sound on due to commuting.

EDIT: Which turned out to be about 2 people and less than 200 words dedicated to the game.

Do you genuinely think I wasn't listening to mobile games because I don't own or couldn't buy a pair of headphones? Seriously?

Anyway, no; the reason is because I'm usually listening to music and would rather do that than listen to the game I'm playing. The vast majority of mobile games will allow you to turn all the sounds off and Android lets your mp3 player run in the background (does iOS allow this, out of curiosity?) so music + game.

Yes, since iOS 1. the iPod app (as it was called then) was one of the very few apps that would multitask right out of the box, before they did background apps for 3rd parties.

Dumb Ways to Die is great. And free, which is crucially about a million billion % value for money than the next nearest wario-lite.

I don't use headphones to play games, as the sound is never worth the faff of getting my headphones out, I find. I never listen to music on my commute though, my headphones are purely for video watching.
Plus, headphones make it too easy for them to creep up on me, I need to keep my wits about me for when they find me.

Digital from the US store - you can buy $20 of PSN credit on Amazon.com for just under £12

To buy stuff from Amazon US you need to add a US address to your account (nothing actually gets sent there but you can get a free valid address by signing up to Borderlinx.com)

You also need to create a US PSN account (any email address and give them the same physical address you give amazon) - on the PS4 (or PS3) login to that account and set your console as its 'primary' system and then anything you download with that account will be playable on any account on your PS4

At that point you can then buy any new release digitally from the US store for $60 which is about £35 instead of the £50 or above its listed at here or when things are on sale you get them at the sale price (I bought BF4 for around £20 shortly after release from a deal that Amazon were doing)

The only thing you need to be careful with is that the games are *not* region locked but the DLC is tied to the region you bought the game from.

For example I bought the US version of COD Ghosts so I need to buy the US DLC packs - UK ones will not work.

thanks much. I will do all this later because i like getting things cheap! When you say you have to buy the US dlc i assume that just means buying the dlc you want but from the US store. Does that have any effect on multiplayer or is it all the same stuff?

Correct - I have managed to buy the wrong DLC for stuff before but it just means if for example you wanted the DLC race packs for Trails you'd have to buy it from the US Store on your US account (for cheaper than the UK one again anyway) - the wrong DLC will download but will not install so make sure if your doing this you remember where you bought stuff from (or just always buy the US stuff which will make it easier to remember)

And the DLC is 'all the same' and you play with the same group of people - no effect on multiplayer for anything that's out so far (and any titles which use local servers I think would just default to your location)

In the past I understand buying codes to do this was difficult to do because you could not easily pick up the codes and you had to get them from various Ebay sellers but since Amazon.com started to sell them you just pay the money and get the codes / put them into the PSN Store and add the games to your queue.

If your not bothered about physical disks buying PSN credit and then the games means your getting a 30% or so discount off stuff day 1 and Amazon do often do sales which knock it down even more.

I've bought Trials / AC4 / BF4 / COD / Infamous / Injustice this way (BF4 , AC4 & Injustice worked out around £20 odd each because of various offers Amazon were doing)

I'm going to write this down here so its somewhere I can refer back to - if you want a basic guide on how to do this

What you will need
An email address which has not already been associated with a PSN account - if you have one fine otherwise sign up for one with Outlook.com / Gmail.com / whoever you'd like - remember what it is because you'll need it.

1. Go to Borderlinx and sign up for their free service (you can use any email address but probably easiest to use the new one to keep things the same).

2. Go to Amazon.com and login with your usual UK account (I assume everyone already has a UK account but if you dont then sign up for a UK amazon account) - go to your address book and add your borderlinx address to your account as an extra address (dont remove any of the other ones you have set)

3. Go to The US playstation page and sign up for a US PSN account , its free and you can give them your US Borderlinx address

4. Login to your PS4 with this new address and go to the settings panel and set this PS4 as your 'home' console

And thats it - to buy stuff you now have 2 extra options

You can buy PSN codes from Amazon.com >HERE< they come in $10 / $20 / $50 denominations , after buying them click the link on the amazon page to login to PSN and add them to your account or manually add them to your US account on your PS4 then load up the store on your PS4 (or website) and buy what you want with your credit.

Or you can buy game codes directly from Amazon (only really worth it if they are doing something as a sale) for example

PS4 version of Injustice at $27.99 which works out at about £16.70 - you buy the game - they give you a code and a link to the PSN store where you enter the code and click the button to add it to your download queue (make sure you select the PS4 digital version!)

FYI The excellent website "Finditcheapest.com" shows the cheapest price it can find for Injustice right now is £33.85 for the physical copy via Amazon.co.uk http://www.finditcheapest.com/gameprice ... B00GYL29NU

** Note ** your credit card people may charge you a small premium to pay for the items in Dollars but its normally a minimal amount

I only knew about the price drop because it was on my Steam wishlist. So, yeah, put things on your Steam wishlist (and then read the emails they send you (about the games (on your wishlist (dropping in price))))).

I only knew about the price drop because it was on my Steam wishlist. So, yeah, put things on your Steam wishlist (and then read the emails they send you (about the games (on your wishlist (dropping in price))))).

That's funny you should say that because I've just had a look at my wishlist and it's showing both Cloudbuilt and Tower of Guns as being discounted 54% and 49% respectively and it hasn't told me about it. I wonder if it's an option in a menu somewhere to have emails ping at your letterbox.

Actually who was bumming these two games? I looked at a video of Tower of Guns (for example) and it looked crazynutzoid, but I don't know if crazynutzoid is enough to keep me going on it.

If you go to Account Details then 'Configure your email preferences' from the Emails Settings box you can tell it in there to email you every time an item on your wishlist goes on sale. That said, I had a feeling a while back that it wasn't always telling me about stuff that was on sale but I never looked into it to prove that one way or another and I can't even remember now what made think it wasn't working. Which is incredibly useful of me.

Lewie is the person who's mad on Tower of Guns - he's out of the country right now but I think he's back at some point this weekend

I've never heard of Cloudbuilt, but am rather fond of Tower of guns. For reasons that I have previously stated.
