I need more slots :'(

Also, I think Black widow was just being ridiculously lucky last game, as I just destroyed her with Thor.

I'm really struggling against some of the 'goons' you fight in the story missions. The pyros and rocket dudes do obscene amount of damage, and so often that I just can't seem to destroy the tiles before they activate. The thugs I'm fighting in one mission (which is supposedly trivial), do an attack which adds 2 strength 116 damage tiles to the board, meaning just basically matching a set of tiles does 300 damage. And they have another attack which does 300-odd damage to every person. I just can't take them out before they rip my team to shreds.

I got my PVP score up to 1000 to get the 100 coins. Back down to 894 again though now.

Hawkeye is handy for getting rid of bad tiles, as is Spidey and Loki. Goons do seem to be harder than the named baddies, though.

Yeah, the Maggia dudes are a pain.

I find using the 20% boost and some starter pots helps. Also, a team of Storm, Hawkeye and Juggernaut is a good combo. Both of Hawk's specials can take out enemy countdowns, and so can two of Storm's. Ditto Juggernaut's green special. Plus his red attack hits hard enough to kill most, and Storm's black attack (racist) can keep the damage meter ticking over.

That's pretty much what I do :( I just can't get the specials meters up fast enough to clear the countdown tiles.

Ignore the mission ratings, some of the trivial levels are rock hard, some of the impossible levels are dead easy.

My strategy for the goon missions is simple. Black Widow and Juggernaut. Juggernaut has a "clear 16 tiles" power that is useable after 2 green matches, which quite often clears the bad tiles. He also has a 1100 damage attack (fully pimped) which is usuable after 2 red matches, which is enough to take out a goon in one hit, or close enough. That should give you enough time to get Black Widow powered up to be able to stun one of the goons for five rounds. After that it is simple :)

I have grey suit black widow instead of regular. Awesome attacks, but lacking the oh-so-useful stun. Maybe I should start getting Juggs boosted.

Get a modern BW it'll make life so much easier. You can get one from the recruit shop for 50 coins.

Remember when we all got him in the Hulk event? It reset, so I got him again.

Also, Original Black Widow is evil. Just played against her in the Widow event, and she defeated me without any of her team getting hurt. Every single turn she stole all my stuff, and every single turn she hit 'Espionage' too. And then after a few turns of me hitting, she just heals everyone on her side for hundreds. I'm hoping that she just got very lucky on her matching, or else she is literally unbeatable.

She's pretty amazing. Team her with Modern Storm and her "destroy gems and collect AP for them" power for maximum hilarity. Between the two of them they can just lock opponents down. Those two plus Irony Man and his ridiculous straight-damage powers are my primary team at the moment, although eventually I'll probably swap Shellhead out for either Wolverine or Hulk, assuming I can get enough Hulk covers to make it work.

Man, they're awful.

But nothing is quite as bad as Wolverine and (I wanna say) Crossfire? Trickshot? Evil Hawkeye.

Wolvy just adds attack tiles, and the other dude adds defend ones. If you can't get rid, they spank you and you do 1 damage per turn.

Bullseye.

Just played against a level 20 Storm, BW, Thor team.

5 turns in they hit me for over 6000 damage and killed my entire team, whilst regenerating all their lost energy. In one turn.

Ouch.

Thor is a cunt, I just lost to a team of him and venom and I only got two goes, the rest of the time I was stunned by venom, then Thor hit me, which powered up venom so he could stun me again, then Thor powered up while I was stunned, which then powered up venom so he could stun me again etc... I just sat and watched for about 30 seconds until all my guys were dead

A couple of weeks ago, I fell victim to a computer move that spent so long comboing, specialing and extra-turning that I had to stop my screen from going to sleep twice while I watched it destroy a healthy trio including a level 50 Iron Man.

This weekly Black Widow event... I only started playing it today and I'm at #8 at the moment. That's a bit weird.

I did one round, then got put up against a team with a L85 Thor in it, so can't progress any further. I'm #332 after just one round, apparently.

You do realise you can just hit 'skip' with no penalty at all, right?

I have a couple of two star characters (Moonstone and Wolverine) that I can't fit on my roster. I'm tempted to throw the game 3 quid to open space for them, since it's a fun game and worth the price of (3/4 of) a drink.

Yeah. I got 20th in the Black Widow one, which was kinda awesome. Towards the end I had to skip about twenty fights before finding one where I wouldn't get thrashed! :D

I have spotted some extra coins I can get, and am gonna try to get those to have Wolverine in the team. Might five Moonface a miss and sell her. Annoyingly the mission that gives me coins has now been completed ten times and it has still only given me two of the effing rewards.

Given up on the no holds barred tournament, got up to 20 but now down at 170 again, and as it finishes at 4am, I'm not going to be around to be involved in the finally flurry, so even if I get back up to the top again I'll be back down the bottom at the end :(

Yep, especially when you can be attacked whilst you're attacking.

I'm just outside the 100s, but the Americans not in bed will take it all.

Curse those Americans!

This is why I liked the Widow one. It ended just as I was going to bed.

I'll be interested to see what they replace the Hulk one with. That has been going for ages.

Finally beat those annoying Maggia guys to get my gold. Now up to 12 on my roster. I think I'll stick to 12, and still on F2P!

I finished 'top 250' in the end which got me some purple stuff and three recruit tokens.

There's now an Iron Man Model 40 tournament.

I just got three recruit tokens, but one pulled me a 3* Black Widow.

This is actually kinda annoying since I have a full roster and am 150 coins short of having another spot. Not sure whether to keep her and trash someone else or just sell her on.

Got some nice rewards from the Hulk thing, including some coins and two covers for my 2* Widow.

Well, I've not got a Mark 40 so that's that out. In unrelated news: Wolverine is an absolute monster because the AI is too stupid to realise that it needs to clear his strike tiles out as soon as possible. So if I can get like 12 green and 10 red I can slash three times for 200, then 350, then 500 damage and finally do the Adamantium Slash for another 1750 damage or so. This will clean even the most stubborn, ground-in stains.

I need to get a third member of the trio to join 51 Wolverine and 48 Original Recipe Black Widow, though. At the moment I've got a 42 Irony Man doing the job but his strengths significantly overlap the other two and I'm reluctant to sink any more points into him because he'll cap out at level 50. Ideally I'd want someone with black and yellow powers, anyone got any ideas? I s'pose Thor might be the best option but I need more covers before he'll go.

You get a powered up Model 40 to use in the competition if you don't have one already.
Which is great for me, as everyone is using that, and I get to use my L28 Model 40, which also get powered up :)

For the competitions, I find it best to get in early to build up a high score to get as many progression awards as possible, as it seems to give out a lot more points for each round at the start.

Ooooh, OK. I'll grind a couple of quick levels in that, then. Ta!

I actually made it to 500 points in the No Holds Barred competition last night but some inconsiderate bastard defeated me while I was fighting and so I missed the bonus. :(

Yeah, Wolverine is complete awesome. I use him as my only real damage dealer now.

I came 'top 50' - would have been nice to know what actual position considering I was #2 when I went to bed and was attacked 5 times since. Got 3 L6 Magnetos, 50 Hero Tokens, and 750 ISO-8.

I got over 500, just - which was nice.

I have Wolverine (the yellow one, right?) but need some covers to upgrade him some more.

For all the fannying around with clever skill sets to defeat nasty Maggia types etc, my best tactic seems to be just picking three tanks and smashing them that way.

Aaargh. I was #2 when I went to bed and slipped down far enough that I only got poxy Standard tokens rather than the Magnetos I wanted.

I've finished all the Prologue missions now.

Some people must have spent a lot of money on this. I was seeing teams with a level 100 Ragnarok (dark Thor) - pretty sure they can only have got there by buying a lot of covers.
