Wow! I am getting slaughtered today!

Just had the oppo down to one character (Patch) and he hit his Bezerker Rage, which gives us each 6 strike tiles. He then made one match, which cascaded to kill all three of my characters. That's about 14k in damage from one matched set of three.

The current event is a bit pointless if you don't have a modern captain America :(

Still think 2* Thor is massively overpowered. In PVP at the moment I lose to him no matter what my team or his partners. You get about 6-7 turns to kill him before he destroys your entire team. Maybe 4-5 turns if they have OBW to steal your shit.

Just got a red cover for Thor for progressing through the story event. Top 20 as it stands right now, and one more cover to max my Thor.

I still haven't raised Thor above the mid-50s. I got 13 Ares covers way before I got 13 Thor covers and couldn't really justify spending the XP to max out two guys with the red-yellow-green powerset.

First page:
130/141 Black Panther ***
102/102 Spider-Man ***
102/102 Punisher ***
89/102 Hulk ***
85/85 Ares **
85/85 Black Widow **
85/85 Magneto **
85/85 Storm **

BP / Spidey / Punisher are my first team at the moment, although Hulk will probably take Punisher's place when he hits his level cap. Black Panther's black power now does 2935 damage to all opponents (albeit also giving them 5 AP of their strongest colour, which is less of a disadvantage when Spidey is webbing them all to shit).

I believe they might nerf Spidey's blue power a little at some point.

Here's something stupid that I've only just noticed with the new challenge - Grey Suit Black Widow's high-damage colours aren't the same as the colours she needs to use her powers. Her powers are green/red/pink, whereas she does most damage with blue/pink/black, just like the other Widows.

That's completely ridiculous. Are there any other characters with the same issue?

The BW mission this time is annoying, as I can't use my OBW at the same time and she is my only healing character. It means I can't spam the competition over and over again, as I have to wait for health packs :D

The rewards for the Red ISO PvE thing are absurd. It's a week long, there are a couple of hours to go, and nobody is even halfway towards getting the too end prizes. If you played the game optimally and non-stop 24/7 during the whole time it would be impossible to get even close to the 3* Cap America prizes. So annoying that they even put them in there.

Haha! So you can.

Shame this one is a US time finish. I'm Top 20 right now and will likely finish at around 100 (if I'm lucky!)

I'm actually in 8th now, and going to sleep. If it ended now I'd get 3000 ISO, 100 HP and 2 covers. Let's see what the morning brings...

Due to my darling daughter waking up at half one, I was able to still be in the Top 10 at 2am.

I finished... in the Top 200.

When you get too many people in your recruit queue you can sell them for a bit of ISO.

Work through the prologue missions for free covers.

Pick a few characters and concentrate on them, rather than spreading yourself too thinly. If you end up playing it long enough then you'll eventually get rid of most/all your 1* characters anyway.

Sell them.

To sell them go to 'Roster' (bottom right) and then for unused covers you sell them individually after clicking on the yellow thing at the bottom that says how many new ones you have. To remove a whole character click on their roster page and there's an option to sell them.

Most useful 1* characters I found were Iron Man, Juggernaut, Black Widow and Hawkeye.

Most 2* ones are good once you get them, though 'Bag Man' is a bit shit.

Gah! Got to 300 in the Widow one and got the 2* min token.

3* animation appears! Yay! Guaranteed Widow!

It's the red cover.

She is 2/5/1 already. What a waste.

I think I would need somewhere between 200k - 300k to max out my characters.

If you have a lot of non-maxed 2* characters then the drop rates for basic tokens aren't too bad. Maybe worth trying a few. I got a 3* magneto from one yesterday.

Just doing the Jugganaut 3rd mission, got wiped out quicky.

Am I best revisiting some of the earlier missions to power up more!

If you have a hundred coins sitting about, the new offer might be worth a punt. 100 coins (HP, whatever) for a guaranteed 2* cover but an increased chance of a 3* hero. I bought one with the winnings from the Widow event and got a 3* Psylocke cover. Also available are Widow, Hulk, Patch, etc.

The two most recent challenges have put me up against some insane opponents - I think I've gone over some invisible line and now I'm playing with the big boys.

They're kicking my ass :(

It allocates you brackets according to how often you win and lose, and also something to do with levels.

The team you leave to be attacked is the team you last won with. One tactic is to use the weakest team with which you can possibly win, beat a weak opponent and then let yourself get hammered by people (while losing your own fights; you can just resign them) and this will reduce your 'ranking'.

I've not done this, but I am told it works.

I'm fighting some crazy strong teams. Can best some, but others destroy me.

It's a strange system they have, it basically takes the worst of both worlds and puts them together.
It rewards not playing, as if you do play it ramps up the difficulty so you get punished more than people who don't do anything. You are better off not doing anything and then jumping in right at the end.
However, it also rewards the few who play all the time, to get the new card reward, which is then used in the next event and means that anyone who didn't get it is at a huge disadvantage.

The majority of people in the middle get shat on from either end. It's basically a UK budget simulator...

I looked through the teams of the top ranked alliances.

Crikey.

Lots of people with a fully maxed Human torch already. That must have cost them a few (hundred) quid.

Having gone on forums for various F2P games, I would say there are a lot of people legit spending a ridiculous amount of money on these things, so wouldn't be surprised if someone rinsed a couple of hundred quid to be amongst the first to get a maxed out new character.

Ditto.

I have Human Torch with a crappy green power, then a massive drop to Hawkeye, Psylocke and maybe some other nonsense.
