I still recruited the new character and ditched Moonstone. Screw her.

When you get too many people in your recruit queue you can sell them for a bit of ISO.

Work through the prologue missions for free covers.

Pick a few characters and concentrate on them, rather than spreading yourself too thinly. If you end up playing it long enough then you'll eventually get rid of most/all your 1* characters anyway.

Sell them.

To sell them go to 'Roster' (bottom right) and then for unused covers you sell them individually after clicking on the yellow thing at the bottom that says how many new ones you have. To remove a whole character click on their roster page and there's an option to sell them.

Most useful 1* characters I found were Iron Man, Juggernaut, Black Widow and Hawkeye.

Most 2* ones are good once you get them, though 'Bag Man' is a bit shit.

The 250 ISO is probably more use at this point.

Gah! Got to 300 in the Widow one and got the 2* min token.

3* animation appears! Yay! Guaranteed Widow!

It's the red cover.

She is 2/5/1 already. What a waste.

:'(

I think I would need somewhere between 200k - 300k to max out my characters.

If you have a lot of non-maxed 2* characters then the drop rates for basic tokens aren't too bad. Maybe worth trying a few. I got a 3* magneto from one yesterday.

Just doing the Jugganaut 3rd mission, got wiped out quicky.

Am I best revisiting some of the earlier missions to power up more!

If you have a hundred coins sitting about, the new offer might be worth a punt. 100 coins (HP, whatever) for a guaranteed 2* cover but an increased chance of a 3* hero. I bought one with the winnings from the Widow event and got a 3* Psylocke cover. Also available are Widow, Hulk, Patch, etc.

The two most recent challenges have put me up against some insane opponents - I think I've gone over some invisible line and now I'm playing with the big boys.

They're kicking my ass :(

It allocates you brackets according to how often you win and lose, and also something to do with levels.

The team you leave to be attacked is the team you last won with. One tactic is to use the weakest team with which you can possibly win, beat a weak opponent and then let yourself get hammered by people (while losing your own fights; you can just resign them) and this will reduce your 'ranking'.

I've not done this, but I am told it works.

I'm fighting some crazy strong teams. Can best some, but others destroy me.

It's a strange system they have, it basically takes the worst of both worlds and puts them together.
It rewards not playing, as if you do play it ramps up the difficulty so you get punished more than people who don't do anything. You are better off not doing anything and then jumping in right at the end.
However, it also rewards the few who play all the time, to get the new card reward, which is then used in the next event and means that anyone who didn't get it is at a huge disadvantage.

The majority of people in the middle get shat on from either end. It's basically a UK budget simulator...

I looked through the teams of the top ranked alliances.

Crikey.

Lots of people with a fully maxed Human torch already. That must have cost them a few (hundred) quid.

I played a game last night against 2 85 level characters and a 47. I beat them on my first turn, they didn't have a single attack!

Having gone on forums for various F2P games, I would say there are a lot of people legit spending a ridiculous amount of money on these things, so wouldn't be surprised if someone rinsed a couple of hundred quid to be amongst the first to get a maxed out new character.

Ditto.

I have Human Torch with a crappy green power, then a massive drop to Hawkeye, Psylocke and maybe some other nonsense.

Roda should be fine with his uber panther. Unfortunately he's not in our alliance.

You can boot people. Everyone has been active the past couple of events though.

If we want another spot it'll cost 1000 coins this time, so if anyone has that kinda cash, I can promote and they can open up a slot. Assuming Roda (or anyone else) wants to join us that is :D

I don't suppose there's a way to donate the "cash", is there? I have 200.

In Eve you got taxed on everything you earned. They should do that.

I miss Eve :(

Ares is vicious. Had all three characters at full health (levels between 110 and 85). He hit all three specials in one turn to kill me completely. Ouch.

Just lost to Ares again. Had to kill Spidey first or risk being unable to ever move, by the time that was done I was still on full health, but he had two protect tiles I couldn't get rid of. Had him down from 5500 to 1000, but then he hit Sunder (3k total damage), Rampage (1k+ to all) and Onslaught (2k). Full team dead again. :(

Hmmmm, works much better to leave Spidey to last, actually, unlike Widow. On his own he can't do too much. Makes he game longer, but manageable.

And again. Man, he is vicious. Either green or yellow kills the target, red softens them up, and they're all comparatively cheap (10 is the most expensive).

It's funny. I am beating teams with 3 L100+ 3* chars easily, but have now lost 5/6 against 2* teams with Ares (Max L85)

L40 Ragnarok vs L40 Daken at the end of a cripple fight in the current Bad Guys event. Sadly I was Rags. Despite equal levels, the only way to hurt Daken is if you hit both powers every turn. Hit only a single power and a 4 match and he gains health. At the start of the fight I had double his health. Doh!

I have three (Ares, Daken, Ragnarok), but other than Daken they're both low level so I lose a lot.

:D

Just got the 12500 points on the normal heroic mode thing. Got a human torch cover. Yay. He's still rubbish, but at least he has more health.

The latest Android update is a bit annoying. It freezes the game if you lose reception. Seems to be doing some sort of constant checking now, even in the middle of a round.

I wonder if that is an anti cheat thing, or a bug?
