Yeah I guess so, they are a pain in the arse (slow and boring to play against), and it's not just like they give cosmetic rewards either (golden heroes and cards), the extra 100G per day they can earn will really add up over time in the form of loads of extra packs, which the rest of us have to either play or pay for.

IN OTHER NEWS - What decks are folks thinking of using for the GRAND RANKED LADDER CHALLENGE next month?

I'm thinking about this one.....

http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/105143-s ... th-trap-s7

I've also been having very good results with this Shaman deck, but it can be so damn slow, and if you're just after ruthlessly climbing the ladder, 15 minute games that end up in a loss aren't good. It's alright for Trump as it's his job, but I can't play Hearthstone for eight hours a day!

It's a great deck to do a daily quest with, got some really intricate plays in it too, but I'm not sure I could tolerate trying to climb the ladder with it.

This Hunter deck has gotten me to L9 so far without much effort, so might keep with it. It will struggle against Mages though. Too many 1 health minions.

Thats what UTH is for now - that + a hunters mark to pull down something big with taunt clears out a lot of rush decks for me

I don't run UTH. My issue with Mages is that the hero power can kill all MY one health minions!

:D

I'm running with two Leper Gnomes, two Web Spinners, two Loot Hoarders and an Ironbeak Owl. I think those are all my 1 health ones.

My brother beat me again last night, he's getting quite annoying.

I shall have to set EBG on him I think.

Also, he's signed up here (or in the process of doing so), be nice to him, he's bald, despite being younger than me.

Hello. I am aforementioned bald brother of the hamster faced Hearthly. He is responsible for my introduction to Hearthstone and, if my current gaming time continues as is, my divorce.

Absolutely obsessed with bloody game, play it for 8 hours a day and then lie in bed thinking of different decks. I've not been like this since Quake 2!

Anyhoo, created a kickass new Pally deck which after some extensive ranked testing this morning I think will be a goer for this ranking challenge.

Looking forward to getting involved..

Played two games to get to L9 last night, then lost to a Mage. I think my deck stacks very badly against Mages. Too many cheap minions and then the Undertakers can usually be nailed by a Frostbolt. Hmmmm.

nah, people have limited time, lets focus on the ladder climb next month.

Ideas for possible future challenges -

Quote:
1. All play with a arena draft deck Hearthpwn Arena draft simulator.

2. No Legendaries

3. All Human

4. All non-human

5.All Female

6. Taunts and Spells only

7. Computer SAYS YOUR FUCKED - Start a new deck, hit done and accept what the computer chooses for you.

8. Suicide FTW. To win you have to kill yourself before your opponent can suicide.

9. No-effect minions (card text must not exist)

10. Seven words or less - card text must have seven or less words.

11. Beards FTW - All cards must have a beard.

Please chuck any suggestions below and I will add them to the list

You're doing better than me.

Cards where not at least 1
Neutral 31
Druid 2
Hunter 5
Mage 5
Paladin 2
Priest 0
Rogue 2
Shaman 4
Warlock 6
Warrior 3

Total Missing 60

I'm missing from Neutrals, 4 rares, 5 epics, and 21 legendaries.

I just spent all of my dust making Gromash Hellscream for the Warrior deck I'll be ranking with next month.

I was tempted to try a control warrior, as they usually crush me when I play against them and I think I have enough dust to get all the extra required legendaries.

My warrior play is getting pretty refined I think. As ever bad draw crushes me but very often loses are close. I will try hard for an early push at the start of the season and see how high up I can get in the first week or so.

Cheers Troops, just had a run through. You Deck is very very similar to mine, only a few small differences. Anyways -

Image

Very handy as it prompted me to DC the few golds that slipped through my last pass, so am now only 80 dust off Cairne Bloodhoofer.

I have a control warrior deck, but am struggling to play it effectively, any tips or names of good streamers to watch and learn from would be appreciated.

It appears it is Savagery, from the druid side.....up until now I hadn't noticed it was fecking missing....

Will be making it later I guess, as it will likely bug me also.

I have to say that I only watch Trump, because his stream is nice and relaxing. For a long time I struggled with this notion of armouring up in favour of using shield block when the mana was available.

Basically the logic is that if you use a card instead of the hero ability when you don't absolutely need it, you're losing out on armour overall as the card can still be played later. Then there's the basic tactic of armouring only after you've hit a minion with a weapon. The best objective is to have health low and armour high, because that will have a greater overall effect if you Alexstraza/heal yourself.

Depending on draw, if you can stack up a Ghoul, Armorsmith, and Acolyte of pain on the board, you're laughing. If you have that situation with two armorsmiths down, then wow. Four minions taking 1 damage = 8 armour and card draw. Cha-ching!

yeh, cheers mate, think I just need to practise more, I have gotten to used to nice quick easy decks. Frost mage and miracle rogue were nice and tactical also and I found them ok.

Dont be surprised if I challenge you to a few games, if you don't mind, could do with stealing your tricks.

Ahh, the problem is the Spreadsheet it seems, some noob who you paid to make it for you must have gotten confused and put Savagery as a basic card, when it is actually Rare.

I suggest you call up the young wippersnapper you hired and give him a damn good thrashing. :)

My lowest level is Shaman on 23, the rest are mainly in the 30's apart from Warlock on 45 and mage on 51 so as soon as you pointed out basic my razor sharp mind flew to the conclusion....damn I need coffee, I always ramble on when I need coffee

I obviously never used it at the time but it looks as if it was a good Druid board clear spell - use something to get attack damage and then deal that damage to every enemy minion

Most definitely up for the ladder challenge.

Are we supposed to stick with one deck for it or are we free to use a selection?

Blizz perma ban Win traders

Quote:
Fair play is at the heart of Hearthstone. The Ranked Play ladder is a place where players have the opportunity to duel and gauge their card-slinging prowess while climbing the ranks. Participating in Ranked Play should be fun, exciting, competitive, and fair.

We’ve recently banned Hearthstone accounts that were found to be participating in win trading. Win trading at any rank is something that we do not take lightly, and is in violation of our Terms of Use. As we mentioned in our previous statement regarding fair play in Hearthstone, instances of cheating will not be tolerated. Accounts that were discovered participating in win trading have received permanent account closure and disqualification from events where ranking is used as a method of qualification.

nice to see they are finally closing off some of the loopholes, a few of the top/pro gamers have lost their accounts Specialist and Gabe Walls(according to PC Gamer). Specialist was the person who brought the flaw to Blizz's attention during beta.

queue all the whingers and moaners -

Quote:
You ban botters for 3 month with no penalty but ban wintraders forever?

In my opinion the botters are far more worse...

Whats wrong with you Blizzard?

Quote:
Bot to legend rank using a zoo deck that has 52% average win rate at any rank, receive 3 month suspension

Win trade to legend rank using friends, receive perma ban

????

Profit?

lol

Don't forget everyone will be climbing again, it's always a bit brutal at the start of a new season in Ranked. You can just leave it for a couple of days and all the better players will have zoomed off up the ranks again, or just enjoy the enhanced tussling that Ranked represents at the lower levels at the start of a new season.

I've started off with a druid deck, and it seems to be working quite well.

17 bonus stars, so I commence at rank 18.1.

Here goes boys.

Tough games out there at the moment, Control Warrior is a very bad match for Hunter, if you can't get them down before Turn 8 it's just one Legendary after another, and of course their hero power counters the Hunter hero power perfectly.

Also had an incredibly close one against Secrets Mage, two Flares just about got me over the finish line for a win.

I might craft an Alex and have a go with EBG's Psycho Warrior Deck, already got the Grommash and everything else.

I've experimented with a Warrior deck, but without Alex, Grommash or several of the Warrior specific cards it only occasionally works. When it does and you get an Acolyte, Armoursmith and Frothing Bezerker working it's hilarious though.

I imagine I'll mostly be using Hunter and Warlock.
