Ordered something from America. Got caught by customs. $85 marked value and they've charged me 20% of £85 rather than $. Think I can get a partial refund? Not very likely I suspect but...

You should probably try asking them rather than us.

If it's going to take more than 45 minutes don't bother

I got knobbed like this recently. Mrs JC likes Wheels & Dollbaby so I ordered her a cotton tank top for the summer as an Xmas pressie. It cost $80 AUD and I got charged VAT on £80 as well as a customs fee making a total of £28.

I wasn't very pleased is putting it mildly. Definitely the most spenny Tshirt with no sleeves I've ever bought.

I got caught once because the seller put something like a $200 value on the item. I called them up and explained that it was only an £11 T shirt and they dropped the charges completely.

That was very surprising so it's definitely worth a go.

Hah!

I actually contacted Jeff via Facebook last year. He was very much alive and well.
