A friend of mine today said that its about that time when the next Call of Duty is announced. I'm not really finished playing the last one, I countered. And then, I said, I have no idea why zombies is so big. I went on saying it's fun, sure, but mindlessly repetitive. And, I was still talking, zombies again? I took a breath to punctuate my point. Evey game has zombies these days. Yeah, he said back, they need some new ideas. Then we played Dead Rising 3. This is great fun, I was saying after about an hour, I gotta get this on Steam when I've got some money. Y'know, I haven't played it in ages, he replied. He continued, Dead Rising was one of my all time favourite games on the 360. Yeah, it was fantastic, I agreed.

THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

Okay so someone has created a mod to allow you to play zombies within another game - video below

Kotaku covered it

http://kotaku.com/trials-map-somehow-be ... 1686880788

Quote:
Trials Map Somehow Becomes Call of Duty: Zombies

Trials Fusion is a side-on motorbike game. It is not a first-person shooter. In fact it's about sa far from a first-person shooter as you're going to get. So it's magic that you can take the game's map editor and build a replica of Call of Duty: Zombies with it.

It took Pneumatic Bog three months to put this together, and it's now available to play on the Xbox One version of Fusion. Note that it doesn't just have a little bit of running around and shooting: he's got 18 weapons in there, eight perks, the mystery box and even AI for the zombies.

People have tried this kind of thing before (or gone in other amazing directions!) but we've never seen a shooter as fleshed-out as this before.
It's Possible To Create A First-Person Shooter In Trials Evolution

The map is called "COD Zombies Polar Darkness" if you're searching for it.

Next DLC drop will be 31st of March for Xbox (and I presume 30 days later for PS4 / PC) - only info so far is the poster - 4 maps / new gun / 1 new Zombies map

"Ascendance"

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/03/18/c ... -announced

Quote:
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Ascendance DLC Release Date Announced

Called the Ascendance DLC, this pack mirrors that of the previously-released Havoc DLC by including four new multiplayer maps, a new weapon, and a new chapter for Exo Zombies. Additionally, a new Exo Grapple ability will be granted to those who purchase the DLC.

Included with a custom werewolf variant, the OHM directed energy light machine gun/shotgun hybrid is the newest weapon introduced in Ascendance.

Those on the Ascendance playlist will also have access to a new Exo Grapple ability, which can help players quickly travel to vantage points and serves as a secondary weapon when needed. It should be noted that this ability will only be usable on the Ascendance playlist and cannot be used anywhere else.

The Infected chapter of the Exo Zombies saga sees the return of its cast made up of John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan, and Jon Bernthal as they fight undead new and old outside of the Atlas facility. The chapter will introduce new traps and bring back Burgertown.

Finally, Ascendance will introduce four new maps. These include Perplex, the map located inside an Australian modular apartment complex, the location of a crash-landed alien spaceship beneath Mount Rushmore in Site 244, a chance to run around a climate-controlled enclosure mixing land and water routes with environmental hazards in Climate, and a map located inside of a black market industrial complex called Chop Shop.

The DLC will be avilable on March 31 for $15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360. It is a timed exclusive and will eventually release on all other appropriate platforms, but a future date for this has not been announced.

In my new series of Call of Duty "How to Play" I demonstrate how to annoy people with the fabulous smoke effects and that sight that lets you see through the fog.

When it works it's ace.

It rarely works.

By the end of the game the center flag is awash with smoke and I keep dying and dying and dying.

Bloody humble bumble have got the season pass at £17 on PC (1/2 priced) which I would totally go for if it was for the PS4.

I would have probably prestiged on AW and would be going around the levels again but I'm still on level 52 on BLOPS3 and not thoroughly enjoying it. Thus, thence and therefore I'm 100% happy to state that AW > BLOPS3.

I'm basically one prestige level above you on BLOPS3 - and its 'okay' - there are some good bits but its not helped by the maps - there are two that once they come around 'never' leave and thats an issue because you get sick of playing the same two maps over and over again (Combine is the worst for this but Fringe is the other) and the age old problem of people not playing for the objective on objective based modes but playing to get the most kills.

BLOPS also has a care package issue where if you are willing to take (and have unlocked) the right set of PERKS they do nothing , and if you have not then you are just totally hammered as soon as you spawn - we're not long away from the first map pack drop which may help some smaller bits but (apart from BLOPS Zombies being better than AW Zombies) I agree with you.

The next one is the Infinity Ward one I think, so yeah, might have a good multiplayer more in keeping with MW & AW.

But IW haven't done a good CoD in a long time either. MW2?

MW3 was alright. I preferred their multiplayer over Treyarch or however you spell it. Mind you, I never played Ghosts.

Can anyone lend it to me? I'll do swopsies for summat.

Both multiplayer and the story were pretty crap - I did like the aliens co-op game which was their Zombies replacement

I quite enjoyed Ghosts but it was the first Call of Duty game that I had played all the way through.

I liked Ghosts too. The dog missions were really cool.

A perfectly enjoyable romp (not sure it was a £50 enjoyable romp though, I got it for a tenner in a sale).

You know what it might have been a fiver ! I'm guessing there is no way to check in Steam how much you paid for something. I know I got it in a sale and it was cheap.

I really wish it (Ghosts) were co op. I think it's the best single player COD game I have played yet and even the graphics were great.

Hopefully the next COD will be less robots but still retain the co op. Definitely the best thing they've ever done to the series IMO. It was like one great big level of Left 4 Dead :)

I'm not entirely sure if this was a thing but I turned on the PSN store the other weekend and there was a CoD sale across the entire franchise. I couldn't resist 40% all the maps packs for this so I picked it up.

But then an hour or so later when I needed to check some download shizzle the sale was no longer there. Had it existed? Had I dreamed it? Yes. Probably.

Anyway, there's something amiss about AW.

If you get all the map packs and try to play a game, you won't. The game says "no matches found" for everything. I was seriously worried that everyone had migrated to BLOPS3 but after some digging there's a fundamental problem here. Something is fucked and having the downloadable maps means you'll struggle to find any games that aren't TDM. Apparently it you download a map called Gorge then it'll get even worse and you'll never find a match.

I don't know anyway to get around this nor have I found anything online except for "delete the DLC." And if you do delete the entire game and reinstall the base game (because you can't just delete the DLC) then you'll have no problems finding a match. There are people out there and they're playing the game.

So I've pissed away £20-odd quid on some bullshit.

Oh, but it gets worse because you can't even play the DLC games with bots to try them out.

And yet when you do actually get a match on a DLC map? THEY'RE BRILLIANT. Honestly, the new maps are groovy shit. Parliament, the Kremlin and, as I was trying to tell Zaphod yesterday, this map that has mobile living units stacked into one another into a kind of double pyramid structure that is so vertical and awesome that the couple of games I managed to get on there was unlike any other map. People brought the sniper rifles out hiding at the edges or trying to get the highest vantage point and folks brought the knives out; cascading down the side of the structures waving their metal in your face. It was glorious.

Anyway, unless they fix this you should avoid the DLC like the plague.

And they won't fix it because BLOPS. Tits.

And the DLC maps are better than BLOPS3. So, there.

Agreed - I've looked last night and today and there are lots of posts about it and the only posted solutions are to remove the DLC and then you get put into a bigger pool of players.

Some people are blaming the skill based match making which is trying to put you into groups with other similar skilled players , or its really trying just to match you with players who have *only* the same maps you have (so you go into a very small pool of players) both of which seem silly

I'll keep looking to see if there is anything more on it - a number of the links seem to go to the reddit area for AW which was folded back into the main COD area so they are difficult to find.

BTW I can also see plenty of people posting similar issues on the Xbox One which makes me think it is something stupid they have broken (and are not even trying to fix) rather than something specifically wrong with the PS4 version

Hmmm - one potential is that i've seen posts saying it gets dodgy if you dont have *all* the map packs downloaded - i think the last updates gave me problems with downloading one - if i'm missing a map pack (now) that may be something - will check tonight.

Okay mine is now 'sorta' working and i can get into games with the DLC

One of the DLC packs had failed to download - i forced it to download and now if i go for non hardcore i get games instantly (even though i have the map packs) and if i go for hardcore it spends ages thinking about it - but did eventually add me to a lobby with other people

So go to the game , scroll down to add ons , check which ones you have and that they all have an arrow to say downloaded and not a cross

Okay - so go to Game / Related Items / My Add-Ons / and scroll down the list , there are multiple copies of each one (patches ?) but they *all* need to have that down arrow on the left hand side - any with a block or cross (like the Reckoning DLC in my screenshot above) has failed and needs to be restarted

When mine eventually downloaded it - going into multiplayer / TDM got me into games instantly

It works again!!!

These maps are acebest!

There ain't much in the way of hardcore games being played but just for map rotation and TDM, even the DLC maps had some decent rotation, then you're still covered.

Luv it again.
