3 things.
1)The name is awful. Seriously, it actually sounds bad (in my opinion) when you say it.

2) I'm ALREADY bored of all this 'future warfare' crap. In that trailer we saw someone using gloves to climb up a wall, Hover bikes (and at that, why only bikes?), Roll-up impenetrable cover. Really? If I want futuristic stuff, I'll play Halo. I get that they want to change it up a bit, but I really dislike where it's going. I don't like that whole idea of 'Future Warfare'. God knows what they're going to add next.

3)Is anyone on this forum actually EXCITED for it? Compared to how you might have felt about earlier CoD's, does anyone really care?

Excited, not in the slightest. But then again I went entirely off CoD after 4.

COD works fine on a typewriter (I'm playing BLOPS and BLOPS2 fairly regularly on my typewriter)

But you're still getting it on launch day?

I haven't even picked up Ghosts and I've had every CoD since Modern Warfare. To be honest, that Predator footage in the Ghost thread put me off even further.

Right now probably not - it depends what information comes out between then and now - as I said above i'm playing the older games but i've hardly touched ghosts since the last DLC pack came out - i've got the season pass so i will return in a few days when the 2nd DLC pack hits PSN (*) to at least try the new maps but i'm not putting the same time into Ghosts that i've put into every other version of the game that i've played.

I'm basically 6 months into Ghosts and I've prestiged once - at this time in any previous game i'd be nearing the end of the prestige ladder

(*) Just checked and the 2nd pack actually comes out today - I'm so out of the loop for Ghosts I dont even know when the new stuff is being released.

My typewriter struggles to typewrite let alone play games.

Hardpoint returns , as does some form of crossbow but the jumping / hopping from building to building reminds me of Titanfall

Unless you order from any number of internet retailers where they may or may not get it to you for a few days.

I'm really not at all enthused for this. I'm more tempted to go back and buy some map packs I'd missed out on for earlier games.

That trailer has made me moderately interested.

Two things I don't like however:

1) laser guns sound rubbish.
2) that Shotty looked rubbish as well, like the one from Dead Space that fires air.

I didn't think it could look any uglier but then came the XBONE COD AW edition.

So despite the fact that the game is not being made by Treyarc and will not feature 'Zombies' mode (as all Treyarc games since WaW did) , many sites are reporting that one part of the survival mode game will feature Zombies

http://www.gamepur.com/news/16567-call- ... first.html

Quote:
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Will Feature Zombies In Exo Survial Mode, First Image Leaked

Zombies has been an integral part of Call of Duty franchise and if recent image leaked on Call of Duty forum is to believe then upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will also feature Zombies in Exo Survival Mode.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Zombies

A member of Call of Duty forum went through the achievement list of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and discovered that previously secret achievement called "Exo Survivor" had an interesting image associated with it. You can check it out below.

The description of the achievement reads "Successfully complete the Exo Survival Bonus Wave". Sledgehammer Games has already provided us a glimpse of what to expect from Exo Survival in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but now it appears that we are still unaware of lot of things.

One week to go and people have their hands on the game already

http://www.goodgamebro.com/2014/10/23/a ... -revealed/

Quote:
Advanced Warfare’s Story Length, Maps, Scorestreaks & More Leak

As we inch closer to the release date of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, it appears that more & more users are getting their hands on the game early. Last night, the length of Advanced Warfare’s story was revealed, as well as the scorestreaks, maps, ranked playlists, and other items.

A user on the Call of Duty forum posted a few different images that gave a better look at some of the more desirable options in Advanced Warfare. A user posted the credits to the game, and stated that they were able to finish the campaign in roughly 5 hours. While 5 hours may seem short, that’s generally the length we see in nearly every Call of Duty title.

We also received a look at a list of all the Advanced Warfare multiplayer maps that are not downloadable content. We’ve compiled the list of each map below:

Advanced Warfare Multiplayer Maps

Ascend
Bio Lab
Comeback
Defender
Detroit
Greenband
Horizon
Instinct
Recovery
Retreat
Riot
Solar
Terrace

Hardcore playlists were revealed as well, stating that we’ll see the following playable modes in the playlist at launch: Hardcore TDM, Hardcore Kill Confirmed, Hardcore Domination & Hardcore Search and Destroy. An image in that same thread also shows off 12 different scorestreaks for players to equip in-game.

For all that we’ve seen on Sledgehammer’s first full entry in the Call of Duty series, it does seem that they’re doing fans right. There’s a wealth of modes and playlists that offer both new modes and fan favorites.

Looking around there were a number of people streaming gameplay over the weekend (unclear if these are retail copies which were acquired early or if they are pirated ones)

Ah, back when CoD still had fresh ideas and wasn't sliding into irrelevance. I remember those days.

The single player videos have looked like the worse boring salad tossing garbage I've seen in a CoD game.

I like the multiplayer videos though. It looks like CoD x Halo which is SURELY as good a reason as any to prick up any gamer's interest.

The multiplayer looks far too jumpy, spinny, twitchy, laser shooty for me. I prefer my multiplayer war to be slower and more visceral, just like I like my women.

I don't think Activision would be up for the whole 'no guns' thing though. :p
Oh, god. Could you actually imagine the reaction if they did? Wow.

I can wait a day. Sounds like a real return to past glories. Mind you, they say that with every new CoD release (well the BLOPS ones), but I fancy getting on board with this.

Its not Treyarch so not Zombies as we know it however there is some type of zombie mode in the survival stuff (has to be unlocked in some way and the people posting videos and clips of it were having them pulled almost as soon as they went up last week)

However its not 'real' Zombies - that should be next year

Not really seen any reviews of it yet (interesting way to handle that - day 1 embargo and then release a day 0 game) - however the buzz for it seems good

Cheapest PS4 version is still going to be digital via the US store at $60 / £36 - although I suppose the supermarkets may well do the 'buy it plus some Xbox or PSN credit' for cheapness

That's good - I was worried zaphod wouldn't have anyone to play with.

Kotaku seem to like it:

Quote:
Time and time again as I played through Advanced Warfare's story, I found myself marveling over these character's hair. The faces are pretty great, the animations spot-on, but without proper hair they might as well be stick figures.

This is some of the best digital hair I've ever seen, period.

I started this up last night and you get the usual 'you dont really want to start the multiplayer go try the campaign' but ignored that and played maybe 10 matches or so - mostly TDM and it seems good , its fast paced , the boost / jump / dash / slide (yeah slide instead of dive) mechanics are interesting and allow you much more mobility around the map but do also tend to make you very visible and easy to pick off but those kills do not feel like they came out of nowhere which was often the issue with Ghosts.

You can start customizing your character straight away (no wait till level 5 or whatever) so male / female and basic uniforms and you can set your custom icon using the same builder from previous games.

You can also unlock different clothes for your avatar (woo dress up barbie!)

(Not mine but an example you can get Nigerian police pants!)

Lots of customization options for weapons and the unlocks on them are back to the more traditional things like '20 kills to unlock the red dot site' / '20 kills with the red dot to unlock the next thing' / ' 20 headshots to unlock XYZ' and you can mix n match grenades / suit upgrades / whatever for your points in each class.

Looks very pretty , moves well (apart from 1 game which lagged a lot but that was the same for everyone apart from one guy who I guess was host) - it also seems to have changed the start match stuff as even from the 'lobby' going into a match sometimes already has a score (normally a single point or two) but I guess that its connecting and letting people move right from the start rather than the slow black and white fade into colour that we've had in all the previous games.

Also had a very quick try of the co-op mission stuff which looks to be a copy of the one from Ghosts which I did not think much of but will give it at least a bit of time (the one game I played we all died by about round 4)
