I haven't played one since MW2 was a massive disappointment.

I think it's pretty fun but I haven't played a CoD since BLOPS2. Plus, I'm still pretty good at it which makes it more fun than if I was terrible.

Also: WHOOSH, ZOOM, BOING, BOING, BOIIIIIIIING, WHOOSH, ZOOOOOOOM.

Hardcore domination is my new favourite thing ever.

I'm enjoying it. The shootybang bits are awesome. Like Halo but better. The story is pretty vague.

Destiny is the most soul less generic, MMO-RPG-Halo-lite it's possible to get.
As Pundy says, the actually shooty business is pretty good, everything else about it is offensively shallow and bland.

I can't take anything you say about shooters seriously as you said the BF4 launch was anything less than a complete fucking shambles. ;)

I’m playing on a PC with plenty of power so it all runs on high settings and looks and plays very well.

It’s got so big though that loading times are similar to games from years ago. When you start the game you are forced to watch a cut scene whilst the game loads. After this you can then get at the video settings. Make a change and it’s the same cut scene again before you can play. Each time you launch the game it’s the same cut scene\loading before you can start playing.

The other annoying game play element is the leaving the map which if you do starts the game from the last save point. I was playing a map in Nigeria where you are faced with a load of enemies standing on buses in front of you. I managed to get around the back of the bus to shoot a couple a couple of them and this was deemed as off map.

Not a bad game all in all though.

Goddamn, the campaign is boring. So very, very boring.

But pretty? Oh, yes, pretty. So very pretty. But completely hollow. You see that glass bottle on the table? No match for my super-Exo-ability! SMASHY! SMASHY SMASHY SMASHY! Smashy? Oh, it hasn't even flinched. Glass bottles in the future are made of reinforced immoveium. Which I just made up. You can't touch shit. It's like being on a pretty film set. Did I mention it was boring too? Yup. And that.

I always play the campaigns in games before starting the multiplayer. It's ok so far, I guess. Pretty much what I expected. CoD really hasn't changed much in five years.

It's justified -it's the same game every year. I haven't bought one in five years and the options for shooters on PS4 are pretty limited at the moment.

You do this for every CoD but, for me, I'd struggle to buy any game if it was just multiplayer only. Especially since no one will bloody play CoD with me. *mumblescumbagsmumble*

When I've finished the campaign. I think I've got 5 missions to go.

I played this quite a bit last weekend. First COD since MW2 really. Omg I suck ass at it now. I remember being quite good at it but now I am struggling to get a positive kdr. The youngest on the other hand, he's insanely good without even trying. He pulled off a 28 killstreak whereas I think my best was maybe 5 (and that involved a lot of caution).

I don't seem to be good at any games any more*. Am I getting old or just out of practice? I sure hope its the latter, I don't want to have my enjoyment of games sucked out of me by being shite at them. I'm sure that's why a lot girls don't like playing games.

Anyway, it would be good to have a bit of a beex night, I'm not sure when, won't be this week or possibly even next, but sometime definitely.

*obviously better than Myp, but that's nothing to be proud of :smug:

Had a quick go on multiplayer. Much more fun than the campaign - I even got a 14 kill streak.

I decided to get this. Was gonna but it yesterday but was low on cash so waited until pay day (today). Imagine my joy as it was reduced by 11 quid overnight!

40 down to 29. Win!

Tes-e-co seem to have this for £29 as an offer today - I'd also expect a chuck off all the different versions at some point this week for Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals.

On the multiplayer side I'm level 45 or 46 (so only a little to go to the first Prestige point at 50) and still enjoying it - there is no 'oh no not that one' map that comes up in rotation

Gun wise I played a lot of games with the default SMG (KP5) which was fine , play a few with the 3 round burst AR (very similar to the Type 22 from MW3), and I'm currently playing with the weird cyber shotgun which is great fun for jumping into a flag point and blasting everywhere with !

The 'items' you unlock after every game or two range from Malibu Stacy clothes for your character (should I wear the pink or the green gloves for this game - the green ones go well with the green line in the new boots I'm wearing) to slight weapon variations (a SMG with more bullet damage but slightly less mobility / a sniper with a 3 round burst but lower range / etc etc)

Did someone demand the full video?

*NO*

Well here it is. The slaughter begins at 2.40.

Clearly that gun I'm using is the best in hardcore modes. I have no idea what it's called but I feel like I'm winning because I'm aiming and shooting rather than going spray and pray.

I have finished the campaign.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
That was quite good fun. Obviously still all 'same old, same old', but there were some other fun bits like the sniper drone, fighter plane and massive mech suit, and I loved some of the new tech, like mute charges.

But the best thing was surely that the hero spent most of the game getting knocked out and having his ass saved by the indestructible British guy!

So without double XP i'm normally at the top of the scoreboard by a long way for HCD , my normal score is somewhere around 5000 - 6000 points but sometimes you just have games where things really click

Nice!

My bro recently invented a challenge game, whereby you play against 6 bots for 10 minutes. Only pistols allowed, with no proper guns and no explosives. Set the bots to the lowest level and see how much carnage you can cause in that time. Your 'score' is kills minus deaths.

His best is about 70-odd

Any pistols ?

I'm getting quite good with the railgun pistol as a sniper weapon - my main gun is the sledgehammer (shotgun) which has issues with range so if I'm going up against someone at distance I'm using the railgun pistol - single shot but the accuracy is high (so you get to hit what you aim for)

Yeah, he uses that one. My best score was with the machine pistol and tactical knife :)

It may change a little when you have unlocked some of the other 'special' pistols i have quite a collection and some are very odd (sniper scopes on the basic pistol and extra range)

I'm not sure it lets you use the modified ones in solo play, though it lets you use any attachments, so you can use whatever you want, I suppose!

I do like the modified stat guns. Given I play hardcore, I like to get versions with reduced damage and greater accuracy or range or similar.
