Also, it works really well, so well done.

It's mods only - but consider that added.

I find that since the little ticker was added, loading the main forum page takes a very long time and doesn't work (it just times out) about 50% of the time while browsing at work.

Whether this is the ticker's fault, I don't know. It will be interesting to see if anything changes once I am able to turn it off.

Hmm - I'll get to that sooner rather than later, then.

It's timing out for me at work too. The past 2 days the forum has been unusable for me. Though I'm getting timeouts on another forum, so I'm more inclined to think it's either my internet at work, or the forum software (both phpBB) somehow lately.

We've not updated the forum software for a while, so I doubt it's that. I'll get the 'off and on' bit done soon.

Bear in mind that I have to burrow my way in using the fullonrobotchubby address to even get here at all. The problem is not really present here at home.

I think the news ticker needs some kind of GUI for members to submit news, and possibly one for mods so they can delete/approve new news submissions. Coz I'm a bit bored of the 5 day out-of-date 'New mafia scum game starts today!' news.

I would like to submit "MaliA has the shits from some beans" as a news item.

I'm thinking that's intensely lazy, and it still relies on you paying attention. It'd be a trifling effort to knock together something users/mods could use.

Yeah sorry about that. No one* updates it apart from me, and I've had a lot on my plate with MS in the last week. I don't mean multiple sclerosis, btw.

It must be quite tasking watching the thread until someone pokes you with a stick to ask for an update. :)

Our ticker under Gazchap:

14:10 MaliA has a poo.

14:15 MaliA realises he forgot to get new bog roll.

14:17 MaliA needs a new t-shirt.

Well, see, that's why I'm confused. The obvious solution seems to be that if someone wants something added to the news, PM the mods or post it in this thread. I'm struggling to see how that could be a bad idea.

I actually meant the mafiascum thread, but I guess it applies to here as well. :)

Yeah, I've been updating the news ticker with stuff as I find it (like changing the dates on Poker Night etc). No one's PMed us for it to be changed in ages.
