I've been in my new job for just over a week now. I haven't done much work but no one seems to mind. I miss having forum access on a work PC but the 4G signal here is impeccable so I try to keep up, even if I can't post as much as I'd like.

Also, I've been called Russ about 6 times so far.

I'm beginning to rethink my opinion of Jesus.

Utterly brilliant, isn't it. It's the way she spends the whole time thinking she's the perfectly normal one.

I also think 'dedicated post-sex cleanup area' is just the greatest thing for someone to write with a straight face.

I know! Also possibly the least romantic thing I've EVER heard. She makes it sound like some sort of oh-whatever practical part of her daily routine!

Although, the person who wrote this deserves a bloody medal:

"I don't mean to be rude, but are you both so dirty that you require immediate cleaning?

That must be sexy. You do it then spring apart, you rush to the bathroom and he plunges his knob into a bucket.

You've just had sex so I assume you are on fairly intimate terms. Even if you have an acid fanjo and his sperm is nine tenths itching powder, surely you can use the bathroom at the same time? You can wash your fanjo in the bath and he can scrub his cock in the sink."

I like to think that it's not just a dunking mug (cock-shaped or not), but there's also a bottle of bleach, scouring pads, and for when they've really gone at it, the phone number of the Environment Agency.

I'm sure the likes of Duravit would be interested to know they're missing a trick in upmarket bathrooms? A tastefully stylish "post-coital cock bidet" could soon be the must-have fitment for the no doubt travetine-tiled aspirational bathroom of today's upwardly mobile couple.

(It certainly beats a half-filled glass or mug on a bedside table, complete with very suspicious looking floaters).

I was demo-ing a web page to someone today and they asked for a spell check feature.

I'd been searching Google for jquery solutions so I went to my closed tabs button and proudly displayed was a tab about dunking penises.

She either didn't notice or was too polite to mention it.

Techie question: I have a load of PHP files in my Dropbox, with a Windows Junction "mirroring" them to my Apache server's document root. Apache won't run them though, as it translates the Junction to the Dropbox file path and therefore refuses access to them as they're outside the document root.

Is there a way of telling Apache not to translate the path?

I'm still convinced it's a problem with the way you link the folder rather than Apache - especially because it didn't work the other way around.

What were you doing to create the link between the folders?

Not sure where else to shove this as I don't think it deserves a whole thread, but fans of weird indie not-actually-a-game games might want to try out the demo of the remake of Half Life 2 mod The Stanley Parable as I'll be doing either tonight or over the weekend. Apparently the demo doesn't include any content from the actual game but is something stand-alone they've made to show you what kind of thing is in the actual game. Presumably because it would be too hard, and too spoiler-y, to take a chunk of gameplay from the actual game.

Some details about the demo and release of the game here plus a general article about it here and the Wiki page here if anyone wants to know more about it. Oh, and the original mod is still around and playable here as well; although personally I'm just going to play the remake 'blind' rather than revisit the original one. I have played the mod as it is but it was years ago and I don't remember enough about it to hopefully come to the remake relatively fresh.

I've been in my new job for just over a week now. I haven't done much work but no one seems to mind. I miss having forum access on a work PC but the 4G signal here is impeccable so I try to keep up, even if I can't post as much as I'd like.

Also, I've been called Russ about 6 times so far.

I get called Richard.

Me too. Well, once anyway, a couple of weeks ago in an email thread from a project manager to about a dozen people asking about training arrangements for new engineers. I didn't think he was addressing me, so obviarsely I didn't reply, and it all went quiet. Then I noticed there wasn't a single Richard on the distribution list. He must be under a lot of pressure. Or something.

Another interesting kickstarter although for this one I cant see the digital book version being that good since the idea is to have these large full sized marquee's
