I miss Fringe This is the downside to waiting on Netflix UK.

Not as annoying as the shitcakes going on with randomly disappearing/reappearing parts of Warehouse 13 season 4 though.

So, I'm just catching up with this.
So far, it's hovering between "good" and "okay". I've spotted a Dollhouse reference in Episode 8, but no others anywhere else.

It's like it's warming up to something really good in the next episode each week, if you see what I mean.

The ones either side of the mid-season break were the best two.

So... this has got very interesting now. Nice the way it links up with the winter soldier film.

I'm watching at UK pace with my kids, and I think it's got better, although the last one, I think would have worked better over 2-3 episodes.

I've been watching this but now have the annoying dilemma of whether to keep watching despite not having seen the Winter Soldier.

Go and see the Winter Soldier like I just did. It's pretty good, and it's going to mean some big changes to AOS.

Episode 17 heavily spoils the film, so if you want to see it I would recommend stopping the TV series at episode 16

Where does it "fit" though?

The "Thor" episode fitted quite nicely after I saw Thor 2 at the cinema about the week it came out, but back then the UK and US were on the same schedule.

Now, Captain America came out over here before it came out in the US, but AoS is behind the US now...

Very annoying.

Doesn't really matter, I went 15-film-16 and some of the minor throwaway comments in 16 made more sense, but nothing was spoiled either way.

I have now watched up to ep16, and am going to see the film on Tuesday. It's rather entertaining at the moment

I also watched the first Cap film to get more backstory.

Is it worth watching the second Thor movie beforehand, or is there nothing of relevance in it? If not I'm going to rewatch Avengers tonight instead.

If you've seen the episodes that relate to Thor 2, then there's not point in watching it (at least, not yet).

Getting quite into all of this, but I almost always seem to find the source material comic books to be disappointing.

What comics do you mean? I didn't think the TV series was drawing any plots from the comics?

Comics in general, not AoS specifically.

Not really the source material then strictly speaking. Anyway, your best is to look for runs by certain writers. The quality of comics is as variable as any other medium's output of course and there's some real dross out there (99% of DCs current output, I'm looking at you). As each character/series has a (relatively) regularly rotating cast of writers and artists there's no guarantee of quality even if you read stuff for the 'flagship' characters or teams. Certain writers will tend to deliver good stuff regardless of which character/series they're working on at any given moment though so that's probably the best way to dip a toe in my opinion. And if you're just generally struggling to get into the whole comics thing it might be an idea to look at non-superhero stuff as an intro rather than going straight to capes and tights.

Just watched Avengers again. Most fun.

Ruffalo as Dr Banner really is superb. Conveys fantastically the fragility and fear of his alter ego.

Still annoys me how The Hulk magically changes from monster that will attack his friends to best buddies though.

Just saw Cap 2.

Very good in places (OMG THE GRAVESTONE) but nothing stratospheric.

I can imagine how AoS will now get very different. I was most upset that there were no crossover cameos though.

Cap 2: caused me some serious lollage.

Yeah, the last few episodes shown in the UK have been excellent.

Plus they like to use it to market the movies.

Agreed. Just pick it up from that point. S2 has started well which is good.
