Close... It was actually a game from Alberto.

Which reminds me, I really should send it him back!

I ordered Bayonetta 2 from Amazon on Saturday with Super Saver delivery and it arrived this morning.

It's pretty fucking good that but really does mean paying for Prime seems like it's just to get access to a charity shop's dvd collection.

I'm not that sure how much value money wise Prime is, I often buy something and see it £2-£3 cheaper on none Prime delivery.

That said most of the prices are cheaper that the high street, I bought a Nespresso coffee machine that was £50 cheaper on Amazon than the Nespresso site.

For me its connivance, I don't have to go shopping for things and can get them the next day. I get 99% of my none food and clothes items there.

My wife just called me 20 mins ago and said she broke the Sat Nav holder for the car, she was in a panic as she has a week of taking our son to activity's at places she has not been to before, so I just ordered another one and it will be at the house tomorrow. It saves one of us trawling around shops.

Just had a delivery, on a Sunday, from Amazon, and the driver could actually find my place and rung the door bell. Ordered using super saver on Friday night.

Best service i've had from Amazon in a long long while, glad I finally got rid of prime!

11am last night:

X: Pod, Where's the new scoop and heatbulb?
P: I'll check my amazon account.
P: Oh, it was prime and it said it was delivered thursday?! It's been left with "117 shop"

(where 117 is the flat at the top of the block and shop is 110, downstairs). Wasn't there a card or something? NO THERE WAS NOT.

In Amazon's defence they did send me an email about that secret delivery to my neighbour, but I filter all of those to a directory I only ever look at if something goes wrong...

I like to shop at Waitrose occasionally, because they stock a number of tiems that I can't find in other supermarkets or shops.

I don't think that's the same as being able to buy the same product in a number of places or with different delivery services attached.

Does Waitrose even cost more than the others for basics? I wouldn't know, as I'm a pleb

I have a small one near me, what I find is that they do matches on Tesco prices but other things like cheese and oil and vinegar is expensive.

For example I went there once after Raspberry vinegar and found all they had was some with fresh raspberry juice costing £6 a bottle vs £1.50 for normal stuff in Tesco.

I still go there for midweek stuff like milk and my wife always goes there for everything outside of the Tesco home delivery.

There is never a queue for self scan and the staff are really nice and helpful, a month ago I was looking for charcoal for my barbecue, a guy noticed and went in the back and got me some, he also said they always keep it in the storeroom all year around and to ask for it if I need it.

Contrast that to the local mega Tesco where most of the staff struggle with English and don't appear to know where anything is outside the area they work in

You get free unlimited cloud storage with this now as well. I thought it might swing it for me but the PC application is absolute dogshit. Unless I'm missing something you seem to have to do it manually rather than just having a folder or specify existing ones which will then stay synchronised.

Yeah, forgot that. Photos are about the only thing of any significant size that I need to back up anyway really. Reckon I'll just go for 100GB with Google for $2 a month and fuck Amazon Prime off when it comes up for renewal.

If you use Google+ to back up your photos it's free and unlimited, isn't it? Though it's also needy and irritating.

Also Flickr (well, you get 1TB, which is the same thing for most people).

Doesn't G+ resize and compress them?

Dragging this back on topic - my Prime runs out tomorrow! *waves*

I've been getting everything over the last month as 'No Rush' deliveries anyway, to build up some credit to buy Kindle books and to see what the standard delivery is like. Completely fine (better sometimes).

If you have Prime, you can choose No-Rush Shipping, which takes 3-5 days but they give you a £1 credit on your account for music or books.

Couple of months maybe?

It makes sense from their point of view. They bust their asses getting deliveries to you, even when you're not fussed about getting it next day, yet there was never any incentive to pick the standard delivery as they were both free.

Fucking hell, I never knew about that either. That actually might make it worth subbing back up to prime! I buy a fair amount of books, and order a fair amount of stuff from amazon.
Is there a limit as to how much credit you can earn?

I reckon you'll still do better to save your £79 and use that on Kindle books instead.

I suppose you have to weigh that up against whether you'd get the added benefit of use of Lovefilm and the kindle borrowing, that with the £1 credits could potentially make it worth it, depending on your usage (and if those things are still included).

Had another letter from them this morning. It has 2 cards attached that I can give to my friends who will get a 30 day free Prime trial and a £5 gift Voucher if they sign up.

Maybe the bin men will see it and take them up on the offer :D

Still prefer OneDrive, they are giving you 30GB free, 15GB of this is given if you set up photo back up from a smartphone.

Before they gave all this free storage I was tight on space so bought 50GB for £1 a month.

I like the ease of use and the sharing.

Next year we are deploying OneDrive for business, there is not limit to the storage for that and you get the same sharing capabilities although not 100% sure if work will allow that yet.

So...totally different from what we were saying, that if you let pro expire, not renew, you go back to 1TB.
