Ok, so the Vive version of Tilt Brush works better with WMR than the Oculus version. It scales up in resolution too, unless my eyes deceive me.

I wasn't aware we were sharing.

But seriously, it does sometimes roll forward on smaller noggins. Just a quick adjustment fixes it

Vive Pro anyone?

Quote:
he Vive Pro is a beefed-up version of HTC's original VR headset, adding integrated 3D audio and high-res OLED screens displaying 2880 x 1600 combined, with a pixel density of 615 pixels per inch, an upgrade from 448ppi. The headset also addresses some of the first iteration's fit issues, adding a new headstrap with a sizing dial that helps redistribute weight, so it's not all collected at the front of the headset.

There’s a first-party wireless adapter coming too. Meanwhile, HTC’s finances are circling the drain though. I wouldn’t spend much of my own money on their platforms.

With over 2 million Vives sold, would it be feasible that someone else could take over?

Or more likely, Zuckerberg will buy it up, steal the tech for Oculus and kill it off :(

Be interesting to see how they price the Vive Pro. There's a big disparity at the moment between Rift pricing and Vive pricing, so logically they'd bring the Vive price down to something closer to Rift (perhaps even beating it) and then pitch Vive Pro at where Vive is now.

That's what some people have done by taking the foam inserts out, but it looks really uncomfortable. Plus having my eyelashes brush against the lenses all the time would drive me mad.

I knew about that, I was hoping you didn't, so I could be clever :D

VRcover do a replacement face 'interface' that's supposed to get you closer to the lenses.

The order that I placed with them on the 2nd was shipped yesterday. From Bangkok. I might get Lewie to get it for me :)

VRcover stuff is all shit. I got an extended insert for glasses from them but it's solid with no flex, so actually more difficult to put on over glasses. Plus their covers are useless too. Very disappointing.

Finally got some time alone with SUPER HOT and made a small bit of progress. What a game. Love it. I did find myself face to crotch with one red guy after a transition as I was still hunkered down after dodging some bullets. Awks.

That must be an odd sensation. I always had the backs of my legs against the sofa when I started so I knew where I was. When I’d die I’d reset myself by pressing up against the sofa again.

Oculus has the guardian system so I knew I wasn't up against any walls, but it was still weird finding out I was facing the window when I thought I was looking straight at my PC.

I don't suppose any one on here has used VorPX?

I know that Fallout 4 VR does not work with my headset (DK2) but apparently it does using VorPX. However, VorPX is quite poorly documented and quite expensive. I did manage to try FO4 VR on my headset and whilst I couldn't move around the graphics seemed quite good. More than acceptable. Been very busy lately with other things but as soon as I get one of my PCs out here and over to mum's I will have the space to set it up again.

That was clear from the initial quote. There's no way you'd put that on the marketing materials. It amuses me that anyone could read that and not realise its not quite on the level. (I was torn on how to present the initial post, to see if anyone here would but into it,or to make sure no one came to thy end conclusion I believed it) it did amuse me though.

Although sensory feedback would be a good improvement, I suspect electroshock is not the way to go

I've been playing GORN. It's all good apart from the LOUD CREEPY CHANTING that looms out at you out of the void when you first start it up.

BTW, the Bionik Mantis headphones are pretty good. 100% improvement in immersion and usability.

Oculus have dropped the ball somewhat by allowing a certificate to expire thus not allowing anyone with a Rift to connect to their servers.

Yeah, apparently the cert being expired is actually stopping them pushing out the fix the way they normally would.

Is it actually locking you out of your Rift, or is it just stopping you from doing certain online things? The Engadget article I just read implied the former but the hardware itself being 'always online' seems a bit bonkers.

That's total bullshit. I mean I'm assuming it would work if not connected to the internet at all (anything else would be mind-bogglingly awful) but if it is connected and just can't get through to Oculus servers having it totally shit the bed is ridiculous.
