I love the way bits and bobs always ends up as a race to the bottom.

Dunno. I literally sit at work shaking.

I really should learn to not visit the forum as soon as page 99 is hit.

Seems slightly irrational and not at all like you (I'm being serious, like). You must be subconsciously associating it with something decidedly more important to you than a thread on the forum.

Eh; people do sometimes have pet hates without it being a sign of something more deep seated. I mean Grim might be suppressing the memory of once being raped by a 100 page thread of course, but equally it might just be it annoys him just because.

Is anyone else reading this in Dr Zoidberg's voice, rather than an Austrian accent?

I think it might be the "competition" element. That would explain why I don't like POTW either.

Yeah, I go through what people have nominated, ignore any that contain Kissyfur and spend ages write a funny comments about them to remove all context and post them in a thread that everyone complains about. I've enver viewed it as a competition of any kind. I'm just consistently high quality, that's all. And handsome. When I do BeeXWeeX I reject about 2/3rds to a half of the noms.

You get 90 minutes of curry buffet for £7.50. I went up four times. I am stuffed full of things and I'm not sure what half of them were. Awesome.

My knowledge of Java is sketchy at best so excuse the ignorance that this will undoubtedly be dripping with: it turns out that our department run most of their Java development through a product called Artifactory. We apparently had this product running on a single desktop spec machine sitting somewhere in the department. It seems that machine was backing itself up onto it's own C drive and so, when the machine died, as it did this afternoon, we could now be a week away from being able to do a new build of any of our projects due to having to pull in all the source code and dependencies from scratch all over again (or something to that effect).

It may well be that a court has decided that they are ethnic groups. However, you have underestimated the immensity of the fuck I am incapable of giving about that, given that what the court says is the case isn't a statement of absolute ontological TRUFAX.

It really annoys me as well, I'm catching up on a few pages of bits and bobs and enjoying a few different discussions that are running simultaneously then suddenly every post is just crap page fillers and whatever was being talked about is forgotten, with the odd decent post muddled in so I still feel I have to read through it all. It does my head in. You can literally tell the minute you get onto page 99 without looking at the page number (because who looks at the lage numbers anyway?!) because of the post content.
I feel like a killjoy mentioning it though.

I think the point about the "lawyered" was that, I believe, you were disputing that Irish Travellers had been recognised as an ethnic group in the UK for many years. I think anyway. I might be wrong cause that last page got filled with filler and I ain't reading 99 pages etc.

I take your point though. I think (think - because I read it this morning and might actually have misremembered) that Irish Travellers aren't recognised as an ethnic group in, of all places, Ireland!

Doesn't this mean you care a lot about it? Although the opposite is "overestimate the immensity of the fuck you are capable of" so he'd say 10 and you'd say 1 but i dunno, now.

Yes, but either I'm getting older, or poltiicans are trying to be more popularist nowdays. Unless there was a godlen age of dour realists, but it's a tricky one I guess. Mind you, I don't think my MP can say anything to make me think he's more of a twat, but he seems to manage it on a regular basis. The latest one was "prisons should be fucking scary" and some other stuff the daily mail would lap up. I suppose, what I am trying to say is I'd rather a preresentative system, or even a benevolent dictatorship than having populist fuckwits like that running the asylum as I feel stupider everyday.
