Heh, and I was just warming up to the possibility of finally playing my physical copy of that MSG game. Hue looks like my kind of thing (and may even already be on my Steam wishlist) and I'll likely give Amnesia a shot seeing as it's there.

Huh, for some reason while reading about this elsewhere I've only just realised that it's not the 'teaser' MSG game we're getting here but the full-fat entire MSGV experience. I assumed they'd never give that away for free so just jumped to that conclusion in my head. Which begs the question: do I play my disc copy of Ground Zeroes before moving onto this or just go straight for The Phantom Pain? Or not even bother TPP? I confess that the alleged size of TPP puts me off as I'm not sure I can be arsed spending that amount of time playing it.

Is it at all worth playing GZ if I'm going to plat TPP? Or is one just a warm-up that's rendered redundant by the other?

Perhaps if you're going to try and follow the "story" then it might make sense to do that but otherwise, nah.

I’d day that GZ is a must play if you’re at all interested in the story to come in TPP.

But since TPP is a 50 hour+ opus from start to finish and you’ve got the staying power of a disgraced MP, then I wouldn’t bother if I were you. You can enjoy what’s on offer without knowing a bit more of the backstory. You get a recap of sorts at the beginning anyway.

Is anyone actually interested in the 'story' of a Metal Gear Solid game?

Wait, where's this coming from? If I enjoy a game I play it until the end. The fact that I acknowledge being shit at games doesn't mean you can start parlaying that into whatever other random insult you fancy chucking at me.

I was only joshing you -and not on any competence at videogames (whatever that means).

I was interested in “the story” - not least the proper ending which blew my mind having played GZ and TPP fairly comprehensively and avoided any spoilers. The main game story isn’t anything special but it is typical Kojima crazy.

I know, I was playing at taking it with a straight face. I reference being shit at games because, after my whining about The Last of Us, myp made it into a bit of a meme that I just suck at games. An accusation that's not entirely baseless to be fair.

This is a reet nice little surprise. It’s just a really lovely puzzler. I’d recommend anyone give it an hour to see if you like it. I reckon I must be closing in on some kind of end and while the difficulty has increased I’ve never got to boiling point where I’ve wanted to jack it in. I’m shit at puzzle games y’see, so it must be doing something right to keep me engrossed. Yeah, give it a punt sez me.

Sky Force Anniversary. The only people who seem to be playing it from my friends list are Zardoz and Zoidberg.

It's great, it reminds me a touch of SWIV. But I appear to either be terrible at it or it doesn't log stats when I'm not online (i generally play on the train so am not connected then). The loading screens display your comparative performance against your peers. I am forever gazing up at MrZardoz, as the machine tells me he has collected 14,000 stars compared with my 120.

He really loves those stars.

Sky Force is a great game. It gets a little grindy but I just love that kind of arcade shooter. The iPad versions are worth a go too.

Post subject:  Re: The PS Plus thread

I enjoyed Sky Force for the time it took me to get through the first few levels but then I hit a star limit so I couldn't unlock the next one and so fucked it right off. I didn't expect to play it for too long anyway but that sort of grindy structure in a shoot em up is no use to me.

Any. Thought it was sort of okay... Felt a bit too loose. Have fond me,ories of swiv. Might start my cd32 now.

Still dissapointed in the lack of good vertical shmups on ps4. Weird that i have to start my Amierican console ( 360) to play such a japanese genre.

I know MarkG wasn't keen on it (maybe just the VR stuff) but Bound seems pretty good so far. Love the look of the world in constant motion and not fully knowing what the frig is going on.

Rush of Blood is more fun but very tense as I'm a big wuss when it comes to VR Horror.

Worms is good! It's basically the game you remember but with a shitload more weapons (but you can choose simplified rulesets that disable them), a shitload more options, and four player online deathmatches. Which are fun.

I'm not sure how true this is, actually. Worms 2 had online multiplayer in 1997, and the original 95 version had over fifty weapons and tools*, which I'd say is about the same number this one has. It was also stupidly customisation.

It is fun though - even if I am shit at it.

* I'm surprised by that, but it's a direct quote from the Wikipedia page.

I am the greatest BeeX gaming journalist. Zaphod has given up the ghost because he’s a Scot and therefore he’s a bit crap.

Decembers Offerings are as follows:-

PlayStation 4

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition
Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends

PlayStation 3

Syberia Collection
Xblaze Lost: Memories

PlayStation Vita

Forma.8 (cross buy with PS4)
Wanted Corp

Well that’s a bit shit for December. Very disappointing.
