Old Man afterthought just got a slimline ps4 ("there were not any for £150 so i thought it was only another week's pension") and Fifa 17. Anyway, is it firmware version 4 that is the latest?

I'm going to get less PS4 time once my boy knows there's A FREE TRANSFORMERS FIGHTING GAME on there.

I'll be playing through Resident Evil again too.

Best month on PS+ since owning my PS4.

The game ticks loads of boxes in my book, but for some reason I couldn't get into it.

I think I need to revisit it.

Transformers Devastations seems ok, my little Lad is loving it so far.

I had a go of RE HD last night and had to ditch it. The controls are fucking horrendous. Forgivable at the time (played the original PS and the HD version on GC) but can't be arsed playing through it again.

I've been enjoying Ultratron on my Vita (can't remember which month it was PS+ game, maybe last month). Can imagine it's pretty spiffy on PS4 too.

Basically an amped up Robotron. Not quite as zippy as Geometry Wars, but it has a nice line in ship upgrades to keep things interesting.

The new controls are much better. Don't tell me you played it in tank mode?

I am pricing up a PS4 for Christmas.

I take the slim is just the new version?
Can i swap the HDD out, buy a 500GB and put a larger drive in? Is it easy?
Anything thing else I need PS4 related?

It's the same console just smaller. Yes you can put a larger drive in as long as it's 2.5" - I would recommend 1GB at least though.

I would get a charger dock as the controllers don't have a great battery life. Maybe a headset if you plan on playing games with us?

I've got 1GB, and I wish I had 2.

I suspect I'd want 4 if I had 2, though.

Do you swap the drives and the PS4 sets it up?

They plug into the controllers' USB ports and then they just dock on top of the station and charge using the contacts. Hearthly would love it.

What is the difference between a v2 and v4 controller other than 2?

DOn't know where you're getting V4 from.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DualShock

There is a V2. There is a V4 firmware for the PS4. Wires crossed maybe?

Old Man After thought's controllers seemed slimmer and had a light on the touchpad if memory serves.

I upgraded my PS4 from a 500gb to a 2TB drive earlier in the year. It's a pretty easy process & 500gb is just way to small with the file sizes of the bigger games.

Headset wise I've got a cheapo Orb xbox 360 style headset off Amazon for £8.
