So, 1600MS points is a lot, but this is really good!
Hunt zombies and scavenge for stuff and shit.

Try the demo!

By buggery, this is good. As evidenced by the time right now…

I was intrigued but then I played FarCry3 for a bit.

Sounds promising... but I'm a bit zombied out to be honest.

Oh dear. It was all going so well, building outposts, rescuing survivors, clearing the odd infestation and then during the course of a sequence of missions I've lost two playable characters and a number of other survivors and I'm down to sod all stuff with seven people left.

Yeah, when I was first killed I was most suprised to find that I didn't just respawn anywhere.

There should be plenty of stuff around the Church, though. Choose Marcus if you've got no weapons - he's good at hand to hand stuff.

Buggering buggeration...now most of my playable characters have decided to go missing. Things aren't looking good for our intrepid band.

I played the demo of this last night - really absorbing, and I was pissed off when my time ran out. This may be the first thing ever that makes me buy some MS fake money. Unless you can get this on a disc. You can't, can you?

I played this last night too!

Hated it. I knew it was terrible when it started and some guy was getting eaten yelling "Dooode, totally get off me, man. DUDE!" I had no inclination to save him and I turned it off shortly after that.

I probably didn't give it enough time but I wasn't in the mood for a game about some frat boys getting eaten. It felt like the type of game created by studio execs: PARTY BOYS! ZOMBIES! GORE! XP! LEVEL UP! DUDE! RADICAL!

Yes. Buggy as fuck but it doesn't matter.

I had a bad night last night, though. Lost three people.

Story finished...just.

Started again with the intent of recruiting enough people to take over one of the uber bases. It seems like it's upped the difficulty as I don't remember so many hordes prowling the streets outside the Church once you've finished the tutorial.

As you help people out, you'll either immediately recruit them or if they're a nearby household they'll like you over time enough to want to come and join.

what about a tool smith? I have a tool shed out in the yard and I can't use it! :(
Also, why does everyone keep wandering off?? I have 12 people in my house and at the moment, 2 are on missions, 5 are missing and the remainder knackered!

You just have to find the people who already have the skills. People go off and do stuff sometimes. You'll probably need to build a sleeping area - the church only has 3 beds, which is why people are so often knackered.

I'd say move to the house in town first. Means you can find those other two people without having to keep going into and out of town. Much less driving around.

Also, pro tip - if you're going to move, set up outposts all around the new place first. Avoids a horde being the first people to greet you when you move in :)

How do you move to an new outpost? I've found a couple of occupied buildings in the first town, and am helping them with "besieged" missions - I assume eventually they'll wub me like everyone wubs Rick Grimes and join up?

Where do I get resources to improve my church base?

No. This is good as everytime I go to ASDA people get angry with me in the car park beacuase the car park has narrow lanes and tehy want to cut corners and you shouldn't use that language in front of your child young lady and why aren't you at school and are you old enough to be driving that car for what itisworth?

Some will, some won't. Depends how much you can make them wub you. There are fixed places that you can move to - a farm outside the area with the church in, a few places in marshall (house, truck yard, restaurant) amongst others. If you've got enough people/materials/influence you just go to those places and say 'lets move here' over the radio. There's actually a mission fairly early on where you go for a drive to look at potential new base sites - I don't think you can move before doing that mission.

Quote:

Main resource for improvements is Materials. When you search buildings and find the big resource crates, those are the ones that increase your base store of materials/food/medicine/ammo. You can grab the whole crate and carry it back, or you can radio for a runner to come and collect it for you.

Or indeed, just directly on the 360 if you've got a card registered. Not good for getting a great rate, but excellent for laziness.

I shall try this sometime in the next 48 hours as I am riding bikes and having to do wedding dull stuff in the interim. Ta.

The rate's not that far off, to be fair.

I hadn't twigged on the radio menu - just looked it up on a wikia. Christ, if I'd known about that.... I'd have outposts and not lost a load of people. Sheeee-it.

I'll have a good experiment tonight.

You'll never jump straight to the truckstop. It's too difficult. Take the Savini House, build up to 13 or 14, then take the truckstop.

Also, the Savini house already has a watchtower, which is bloody helpful. The truck stop doesn't, which leaves you wide open while you build one.

moved into the house just down from the church, surrounded it with outposts and got a good variety of supplies coming in. Now I just seem to be fielding wayward survivors and cheering up whatshername because she is sad :(-5 the kirkman residence? Could be...

I moved into that house and keep getting -5 sad because there are too many infestations. The only infestation on the map is in Marshall a few miles away!

The infestations might be there, you've just not got close enough to spot them.

Having said that, I've had the "too many infestations" thing for most of the game.

yeah I stopped caring about that, the morale is plenty high anyway from rescuing folks and doing missions, the next objective for me is to find somewhere to get a supply of ammo.

The gun shop, yo - it's near the diner in the "first" town (with the Church).

Where's the Kirkman residence? It's in the first town with the church, isn't it?
