I realise that the outage wasn't their fault (though PSN seems a lot more fragile than XBL) but five days extension is pretty pathetic.

Will they also arrange for some days off work for the people who missed out, and given that nobody with a new console could actually sign up for a new account they have every right to be unhappy as they'll get f all.

Intersting. So you don't buy things based at all on how useful they will be in the future then? You strictly only consider how useful they are right now?

I really like the offical set - somewhere around £60 if you can find them on offer (£80 here at Amazon)

The only real negative i have is that they need a dongle which takes up one of the 2 USB slots on the front of your PS4

A very easy alternative is whatever set of headphones you use for anything else and plug them into the bottom of the Dualshock - I have a pair of in ear ones which I got with my last phone that work great and are often easier to sort out than the full wireless set
